"Some of the sharpest writing ever from a comic genius."
-Kurt Luchs, Talking Book Review
"Good sentence structure."
-Chevy Chase
An original collection of the most stupefying stories ever to be folded into a paper airplane and flung out a sanitarium window. Just what would you expect from one of our foremost comedy writer/performers, Phil Austin of the Firesign Theatre. Meet The Old Detective, hanging out in a tatty pink-plaster bungalow telling tales of exotic babes shooting craps in a barrel. Here is a mobster who will control the Earth by controlling the moon and so, women; and the inventor of a car that looks like a beaver and runs on air pollution. The nine complete stories - perfect lies - in this rollicking collection of never-before-heard material give new meaning to the word maniacal.
PHIL AUSTIN, author and performer of these TALES, dedicates this presentation to his wife, Oona. The Austins live both onFox Island, Washington, and in the Hollywood Hills. One of four members of the Firesign Theatre, he is best known for his "audio novel" Roller Maidens from Outer Space as well as his long-time portrayal of Nick Danger, Third Eye - most recently in Down Under Danger on NPR's "Pulp Radio" series. His next publication will be a novel, Beaver Teeth.
