"LIVE FROM THE ISLANDS" HEADLINES
WINNERS OF THE SOUTH WHIDBEY TALENT SHOW
AND AUTHORS OF "MARRIED TO MOMMY"

LIVE FROM THE ISLANDS continues every Saturday afternoon with two hours of
music, comedy and conversation live from the Edgecliff restaurant in Langley
on Whidbey Island.  The program can be heard live on KSER 90.7 FM and on the
internet, www.kser.org from Noon until 2pm PST.  Hosts are the
husband-and-wife team of David Ossman and Judith Walcutt, joined by
journalist and "Rock-On-Tourist" Sue Frause and Jim "Conductor of Fun,"
Freeman.  Regular "Island Time" treats include Miss Sylvia's Chicken-Fried
Sheriff's Report and the latest of George Tirebiter's "Not Insane!" stump
speeches.

This Saturday, November 22, LIVE FROM THE ISLANDS returns to the Golden Age
of Vaudeville, presenting prize winners from both the 18th Annual South
Whidbey Schools Community Talent Show and the Dog House Poetry Slam in a
wild program of aspiring pop stars, cowboy balladeers, accordion kings,
comics, barroom poets and, as always, the unexpected.

Professors Jeff Bakeman and Brian Krinbring drop by to talk about their new,
funny book and popular website, "Married to Mommy:  A Survival Guide for
Married Guys."

Gail Gwinn, whose etching series, "Light Through The Trees," is currently on
view at Museo in Langley, discusses the art of drypoint and other etching
techniques.

Linda Moore, CEO of the Goosefoot Community Fund, which contributes to the
rural character of Island County through the preservation and protection of
its historic buildings and natural environment will discuss the Fund's
latest projects.

Sue Frause comparison shops the Island thrift stores and, with her husband
Bob, really "talks turkey," based on years of poultry passion in their past.
Jim Freeman, who conducts the fun at both the Poetry Slam and Talent Show
will demonstrate his Mastery of Ceremonies.

    November 29 headlines the Pickled Herring Band and guitar maker and
master Michael Dunn who returns for an encore visit after his appearance at
October's DjangoFest NW.  Joining Dunn is the gypsy jazz group
"Billet-deux," featuring Troy Chapman, Juan Serbulo and Rod Backman.  The
show also features appearances by author Celeste Mergens, previewing the
Whidbey Writers Conference and discussing her new role on the U.N. Committee
for World Hunger and Lewis Carlino, screenwriter and director, talking about
his forthcoming production of Sheridan's Restoration comedy, "The School for
Scandal."

     December 6 brings back "No Band Is An Island" for a program of old and
new tunes and a special birthday performance by George Tirebiter, with Jim
Freeman and friends, of the 1950 hard-boiled radio spoof "Max Morgan, Crime
Cabby."  December 13 promises to be a not-to-be-missed, one-of-a-kind event,
with special guests to be announced!

The final programs of the 2003 LIVE FROM THE ISLANDS season will be on
December 20 and 27 and will include evening concerts recorded at the Whidbey
Island Center for the Arts during last July's Choochokam Arts Festival.
 
LIVE FROM THE ISLANDS will not be broadcast from the Edgecliff during this
Holiday hiatus, but will return on Saturday, February 7.  During January,
David Ossman will bring "Ossman's Audiola," his popular eclectic music and
comedy "record show" to KSER listeners on Saturdays, Noon to 2 pm.
