>My first contact with the subversive four was when,as a new psych tech assigned to the Army hospital at Ft.Jackson South Carolina in Jan 72,i overheard the other techs (who were there for 1 or 2 years prior to my arrival) quoting the firesign at work, such as "not insane or not responsible",or park and lock it. This did not prove therapeutic to the patients who overheard the quotes, and it left me confused for a few months till i got knowledge of the origins of them at an "ETS" party for one tech leaving the ward. Firesign Theater was(and still is!)a revelation in reality which changed my evolution then and still plays an important part of my life today. They Validated my own take on what was going on then,ie. "Tricky Dick Nixon= My Commander in Chief is also an unindicted conspirator to Watergate" Talk about a crisis in confidence, our commander was in deep kimchee for thinking with someone elses dick and got caught! My DI. in basic didn't prepare me for this crap! Loyalty was an oath we swore to defend ,to the death if required, but for what? Firesign theater revealed to that kid ( I was 30 years ago ) the real world by comic dissection of that same world and left me with the warm feeling that i was not alone(or insane).PLEASE don't fade away, your voices mean ALOT to us,we are always here for you wherever you go!
