||||||||| Catherwood stumbles in at 8:00 PM, dragging Tweeny by one foot and asks "Can anyone vouch for this yo-yo?"

||||||||| Tweeny leaves at 8:00 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Beet disembarks at 8:00 PM.
Beet: Greeting, Anyone?
||||||||| Catherwood accompanies Cease inside, makes a note of the time (8:00 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood intones: "8:00 PM and late as usual, it's Deputy Dang, just back from Elmertown."
Beet: Hi, cease.
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Beet! Howdy, Cease!
Cease: Hi all
Beet: Hey, Deputy.
Cease: My greater family is from Fiji
Beet: My family is only as great as it can be.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "May I see your passport, please?"
Deputy Dang: The elevator boy is in your family?
Cease: only on the top floors
Beet: I will include him, of course.
Cease: this album has a seductiveness to it
Cease: then use the stairs
Cease: or if there are no eyes, no stares
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Get on it and do it every day!"
Beet: Is that Rocky Raccoon's
Beet: The other time Nancy is mentioned.
Cease: Sluggo, not once.
Beet: A very boomer reference.
Cease: I was in a French restaurant with a Vegas friend a couple years ago, and the manager came over to talk to us. She looked alarmingly liked Sluggo.
Beet: lol
||||||||| At 8:00 PM, Cease vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!
||||||||| Catherwood enters with Cease close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 8:00 PM tree-stunting plans, and runs off to the anteroom.
Cease: https://seemreal.com/blog/index.php/2024/03/27/vegas-24/
Cease: Made a collage out of the trip but I don
Cease: we lost the capacty archives the collages when doc tech went AWOL
Cease: Have to find a new way to store them.
||||||||| Frank_from_Texas steals in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last night's "unpleasant incident."
Beet: Hello Texas Frank
Cease: HI Frank
Frank_from_Texas: I've clearly clicked on the wrong thing. How do I access the livestream discussion?>
Cease: clcik the 256k stream
Cease: this remains hilarious
Cease: I saw the Firesigns outdoors in Seattle in 94. So much noise from boats, et al, Ossman called it the Transportration Museum
Cease: How's it going, Frank?
Cease: Austin does a bit on your name in his play Down Under Danger. A character named Frankie
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "There's a seeker born every minute!"
Cease: Anyone still here?
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
Beet: Me am.
Cease: Sounds like a Burmese name.
Beet: What happened to the Deputy?
Cease: You're older than I am. Surely you remeber the road signs for Burma Shave? Hilareious struff from the 50s
Cease: he usually listens more than chats, though he and I were the only people on chat recently.
Cease: no rachel, the food is not fantastic, if you've ever had fantastic food. van sucks
Beet: I used to really like reading those signs along the road/
Cease: me too
Cease: still here, Frank?
Cease: Ever been to any of the Smithsonians?
Beet: Many times and all of them.
Beet: Used to live there.
Cease: allo 21 plus the zoo?
Beet: Yep.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "I hate rich people. I hate them and their stupid problems."
Cease: ive onlhy beento DC twice but loved its various museums
Beet: Great zoo.
Cease: was into zoos at one point, when i was working with apes
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Scalp 'em, Tantric!"
Cease: 90s
Cease: got the Firesigns into apes too.
Beet: Well, this was fun. Gotta go. Nice to see everyone. Y'all have a great weekend. See you next time. G'Nite.
Cease: by beet
Cease: i think this is really important and no one is here to listen. bummer
Deputy Dang: I'm listening. It saddens me. I'm glad those folks made a photographic record.
Deputy Dang: BTW, I adde Anna from Ukraine to my YouTubes.
Cease: Good for you, and Ukraine. I'm getting close to finishing my production on my Ukraine play. Wil give it to a musician in a couple of weeks and then to Tweeny for final production tweeks. I'm going out of town kin late Apriol and I want it done by then, as I'll be recordubg siome voices for my new play out of town.
Cease: What a hilarious image,eh? When I posted about this production on the 4 Firsign Facebook sites, I was attacked for combining Racehel with Firesign. They're a natural fit, for me.
Deputy Dang: Yeah, this is a good mix.
Cease: Tis was at my alma matter. i graduated from UBC, taught at UBC and was aDJ there in the 70s so this is oddly personal.
Cease: I hope I produce no bad mixes.
Deputy Dang: It's just so heavy. FST did a lot of satire, but what's happening now doesn't feel like it can be satirized. I know that's not true. I've seen some from the late night comics/talk shows.
Cease: Canada should be essential.
Cease: My plays always have humour, funny stuff, at least to me.
Cease: I stole Jack Benny/Mel Blanc/s "Si" bit in my Vegas play. Abbot and Costelo's who's on first for my Ukrainian play now in productroin
Deputy Dang: This scene makes me think of Monty Python prison skits.
Cease: And Cheech and Chong's Dave NOt Here in my latest play
Cease: it reminded me most of lenny bruce's father flotsky bit
Deputy Dang: Yeah I can see that.
Cease: all of Thank You Mask Man on next week's show, or the one after. It's a trilogy.
Cease: evil never dies. a good point. it is intrinsic to reality.
Cease: did you watch the Babylon 5 series?
Deputy Dang: I tried watching it, decades after it ended. My dad liked it, but at the time it was on, I wasn't watching television. When I tried to watch it, I couldn't get into it. I don't know why. I have always liked science fiction, and enjoyed what I watched. I just couldn't keep watching. Maybe I can find id on BluRay.
Cease: yeah, it's a commitement. elayne (founder of this group) turned me on to it, and i culdn't get into the first year.
Cease: its idea that the villains, the spiders, were essential for the uiverwe to evolve instead of stagnate is an interesitng idea, at least on the level of the universe, certsinly not on our micro-wolrd
Deputy Dang: https://cordcuttersnews.com/babylon-5-is-now-free-to-watch-on-youtube/ Here is an article from February this year saying Babylon 5 is on YouTube. I haven't read the article, but this will give me something to investigate tomorrow.
Deputy Dang: I clicked on the YouTube link, and it's not available. It's marked as private. Oh, well. Something to investigate tomorrow.
Cease: i enjoyed it when it was on. i've read A LOT of SF but not much on TV or even cinema has opened my brain as much as the written word. My play Red Shift is Very Science Fiction, with much Firesign involvement.
Cease: Bad things end because everything ends, eh?
Deputy Dang: Yeah. I hope it ends before I do.
Cease: I turn 75 in a couple of weeks, inshallah, and my wife is basically the same age. we ae both interesdted in ufos, but doubt they will be udnerstoond in our life times.
Cease: hpefully in our grandkids' experience. some weirdness if happening, and we know not what.
Cease: proc (etc) have had some strange experiences. it ain't all their plays
Cease: part 2 next week.
Deputy Dang: Thank you Cat. I liked the collage. I'll see you next week!
||||||||| Around 8:00 PM, Cease walks off into the sunset...
||||||||| Deputy Dang says "Catherwood, call me a cab." After the obvious joke, Deputy Dang exits at 8:00 PM.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| It's 1:30 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Frank_from_Texas - dead from Globner's disease
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| It's 1:45 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Beet - dead from the common cold
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood enters, and announces to all and sundry "It's 4:31 AM, time to change the log file and clean out unused rooms; please exit the chat room for a minute or two. Thank you for your patience."
