||||||||| 8:00 PM -- Tweeny left for parts unknown.   (Entry from Nick Danger's "Idiots I Have Been Paid To Follow").
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Catherwood ushers Tweeny into the room, accepts a wooden nickel as a gratuity, mutters something about 8:00 PM, then departs.
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Deputy Dang plummets into the garden at 8:00 PM.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 11 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| Beet sneaks in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last year's "unpleasant incident."
Beet: Howdy, Folks.
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Cease plummets into the garden at 8:00 PM.
||||||||| Outside, the 8:00 PM bus from Elmertown pulls away, leaving llanwydd coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Cease: in we tumble
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Offer not good after curfew in sectors R or N."
llanwydd: howdy
Tweeny: Evenin' Dear Friends
Beet: Hey, Deputy, Cease. llan.
Beet: Hi, Tweeny.
Cease: We're just, a joke.
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Parders!
Deputy Dang: and Pardners!
Cease: Notice the difference the comma makes. "We're Just" A joke.
Tweeny: hah, hadn't considered that
Cease: just thought of that.
Cease: everyone is still getting older every day
Cease: benjamin button excepted
Cease: Help? It's the Police!
Cease: You're reefer's waitin
Cease: I might chatting from Egypt in october
Beet: From inside the pyramid?
Cease: I had thought to do that, but it doesn't seem something I'd enjoy, so will do other stuff.
Cease: The Grand Egyptian Museum, Saqqara, Lusor and maybe other places.
Beet: I would love to be able to do that.
Tweeny: assuming that the Israelis and Trump haven't turned the entire Middle East into a war zone by then ;)
Beet: Either that or flattened it altogether.
Tweeny: I read todayTrump caution on Iran strike linked to doubts over ‘bunker buster’ bomb, officials say - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jun/19/trump-caution-on-iran-strike-linked-to-doubts-over-bunker-buster-bomb-officials-say
Cease: i've been wanting to go to Egypt since 1959. ain't getting any younger.
Tweeny: "The defense officials were also told that to completely destroy Fordow, which Israeli intelligence estimates to go down as far as 300ft, it would likely require the US to first soften the ground with conventional bombs and then ultimately drop a tactical nuclear weapon from a B2 bomber."
Tweeny: I hope you can make the trip, Cat :)
Cease: me too, tween. it will be a demanding trip, at my age and overall fragility.
Tweeny: and of course, the Israelis have their own nukes if need be
Tweeny: Well worth the experience though I'll bet, Cat
Cease: i really want to go to Ukraine and collaborate with its artists and creative folk, but that's not realistic until the orcs are driven back to Mordor.
Cease: thatr's why i want to do it, tween.
Cease: will great some Great collages out of it
Cease: this is beautiful writing
Cease: we Canadians can Really write, eh?

||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
Tweeny: Deputy Dan Has No Friends, illustrated! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfCJqYihucY
Tweeny: really good ^^
Cease: True
Beet: Heading out for now. This was fun. Nice to see everyone. Have a nice rest of the evening and a great weekend. G'Nite all.
Deputy Dang: G'nite, Beet! I apologize to all for not being active in the chat tonight. I recently attended a seminar about using AI to develop stuff (mostly software). I'm not sure if I would recommend the seminar--it had some strong "timeshare" vibes, but I think they are legitimate. Anyway, the one thing I learned was how to talk to some of the AIs and I'm kind of focused on that.
llanwydd: nite dang
Tweeny: Later, Beet...
Cease: Bye
Cease: how to talk to AI, good lesson from Bozos
llanwydd: this is hilarious
Deputy Dang: It's kind of fun for be, but that's because I have always enjoyed writing software specifications. This is similar, but interactive. It's like having a brilliant assistant.
llanwydd: lol
llanwydd: ever since my son took lsd
llanwydd: where did you find this radio clip, cat?
llanwydd: I dont remember ever hearing radio free oz beforenow but I suppose I must have
Deputy Dang: That was fun. Thank you, Cat!
llanwydd: yeah that was great
Cease: this is from the KPFK premium, $150 for 60 hours of early Bergman on KPFK. I have yet to spend the big bucks, so this was a freebie on the SeXy Boomref Show, Proctor's Tuesday show.
llanwydd: really cool
Cease: have to decide on trip by the begininng of july. the main restaurant i want to go to has a 3 month in advance necessity of reseration. i plan to go there in oct
llanwydd: must be pretty posh
Cease: only 2 michelin star restaurant in Istanbul. also plan to visit most of the 1 star places. as you know from being in VEgas/Egypt, I'm way into food.
Tweeny: Excellent collage, Cat
llanwydd: so am I
Cease: egyptian cigarettres, eh?
llanwydd: I may never eat in a michelin restaurant if they are that exclusive
llanwydd: exclusive of my tight budget anyway
Cease: not cheap.
llanwydd: egyptian cigarettes? I am picturing omar sharrif in funny girl
llanwydd: or however you spell it
Cease: my wife and I made a lot of money teaching in Japan. Lucky real estate investments since then have made us able to travel at will.
llanwydd: cool
Cease: the streets are filled with peole who did not have my advantages or my luck.
llanwydd: but I doubt I would pay fifty dollars an oyster or a hundred a truffle slice
llanwydd: even if I could afford it
Cease: Van and Seattle, SF and LA have streets filled with homeless. Denver, Santa Fe and Spain do not. odd?
Cease: I asked a local about that in San Sebastian, and she told me, "we take care of each other"
llanwydd: well denver and santa fe or comparatively smaller
Cease: no. denver is 3.5 million, van is 2.5 million. spain is a big country.
llanwydd: interesting
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "It goes in - it must come out."
Cease: did you read or hear my collage about denver? I was astounded.
llanwydd: I wonder how anybody can breathe a mile up
llanwydd: much like mexico city
llanwydd: I dont remember that collage. sorry.
Cease: my wife didn't believe it when I told her about the absense of homeless in our dalily texts. she said i must not have been to the homless districts, but i went all over cities and never saw people sleeping on the sidewalks, which is common here.
llanwydd: down here they have homeless camps, out of sight of the public
Cease: i hsd no breathing probelms in denver at all, and my respiratory system is fragile
Cease: loved denver. Really loved Santa Fe, though even in Oct, it was too hot.
llanwydd: so you dont know the homeless when you see them
Cease: i mean tents on streets or people curled up everywhere on the sidewalks.
Cease: ddnt see thatr in Spain, etc.
Cease: absence of fentanyl? better services?
llanwydd: well I doubt you would get into a homeless camp if you werent homeless. I hear they dont like outsiders
llanwydd: that could be it, cease
Cease: We have no heirs, as you know. might as well enjoy what we can while we can
Cease: Paranoid Pictures is an image by Banksy in a show of his work I just saw
llanwydd: have you seen the stage version of Frame Me Pretty on youtube?
Cease: yes
llanwydd: fantastic
Cease: from the Al Gross collection, I believe
llanwydd: loved the sound effects
Cease: proc and ossie still doing stuff.
Deputy Dang: I just added it to my morning watchlist.
Cease: only death wtil shut them up, or maybe not.
Cease: they inspire me to do more stuff.
Deputy Dang: I hear that!
Tweeny: Thanks for listening, floks. And if you have an IRC client don't forget to join us at www.dishnuts.net for my Tuesday show where I take music and comedy requests :)
Tweeny: *folks, even
Cease: that's why I'm so keen on going to Istanbul and Egypt. It will be profoundly inspiring.
Tweeny: Thanks for flocking here
Cease: thanks, tween. wil have idea for next week's show to you soon
Cease: cats dont flock here. but maybe, in istanbul?
Cease: by all
llanwydd: great show. thanks tweeny and cat
Deputy Dang: I definitely enjoy tonight's show. Again, I apologize for not being active in the chat. I'll be better next week!
Cease: hope so, dang
llanwydd: goodnight everybody
||||||||| "8:00 PM? I'm late!" exclaims llanwydd, who then scurries out through the french doors and down through the brambles.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Cease: the show will always be interesting.
Tweeny: Until last time, again...
||||||||| Cease is defenestrated just as the clock strikes 8:00 PM.
||||||||| Around 8:00 PM, Tweeny walks off into the sunset...
||||||||| It's 1:30 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Beet - dead from The Plague
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
