||||||||| Catherwood re-enters the Waiting Room and explains "This is the main discussion room which is logged each night."
||||||||| Catherwood announces, "The time is 4:32 AM - I now declare Thursday's chat log for April 10, 2025 officially open!"... and then, he retires back to the vestibule...
||||||||| Outside, the 8:00 PM uptown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving RedPillTweeny coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
||||||||| It's 11:30 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| RedPillTweeny - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood trudges in at 8:00 PM, dragging Tweeny by one leg and asks "Can anyone vouch for this yo-yo?"

||||||||| Catherwood says "8:00 PM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs Tweeny by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Catherwood ushers Deputy Dang inside, makes a note of the time (8:00 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
||||||||| Nancy Kat tiptoes in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last month's "unpleasant incident."
Nancy Kat: DANG! It's a Deputy!
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Nancy Kat!
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 11 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| Cease sashays in at 8:00 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Cease: Hi folks
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Cease!
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "How does he make his voice do that?"
Nancy Kat: Hideeho Cease!
Nancy Kat: Sashay, Shante!
Cease: Enchantee, Nancy
Nancy Kat: Bonjour, Monsieur Le kitty cat!
Cease: Mai oui
Cease: diet free!
Cease: i used this in my collage about my denver trip
Cease: i thought about it alot when i was there.
||||||||| llanwydd sneaks in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last year's "unpleasant incident."
llanwydd: howdy folks
Cease: hi llan
Deputy Dang: Howdy, llanwydd!
Nancy Kat: HIHI llanwydd!
||||||||| "8:00 PM? I'm late!" exclaims Deputy Dang, who then rushes out through the french doors and down through the brambles.
Cease: Dang
: It's me, somehow. I think I'm having browser issues.
Cease: brow wow
||||||||| Deputy Dang sashays in at 8:00 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Cease: welcome back
Deputy Dang: I blame it on Suzanne Somers.
Cease: i only vaguely know who she is.
Cease: i suspect i was living in japan when she was on american tv
llanwydd: she was on a show called threes company
Cease: never saw it
llanwydd: a sitcom
Nancy Kat: On the woof?
Cease: a midge is a bothersome insect. how did it become a woman's name?
Cease: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midge
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "You people are soooooo superstitious!"
Nancy Kat: I assume the same way ethel and Beartha did
Deputy Dang: Allegedly it's a variant of Madge, which is a shortening of Margaret or Marjory.
Cease: this is one of their most annoying bits
Cease: thanks, dang
Cease: its interesting how many swear words have been normalized, but neve fuck
Cease: i had to edit this
Cease: these presidents probably did speak like this
llanwydd: nixon certainly did
Cease: trump even more
Cease: probably not carter
Cease: i had a friend in japan who was a 9 year old boy in nagasaki when the bomb was dropped there.
Cease: he said it was really pretty
Nancy Kat: Queen Reagan?
Cease: nag is a city of hils and valleys so the destroyed part was protected from hlils
Cease: Firesign was fantastically fecund.
Cease: i'm watching A Complete Unknown today and Dylan was as inspired almost like a gusher, as was firesign
Cease: teh flick lis Really Good
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Why does the porridge bird lay his egg in the air?"
Cease: desparate inlaws
llanwydd: yeah it seams every great artist has his gusher peroid
llanwydd: the beatles had theirs
llanwydd: dylan went into a slump after his motorcycle accident
Nancy Kat: "69, DUDE!"
llanwydd: that was the year of nashville skyline. good album
Cease: groups are difrerent from individuals, as the dylan biopic makes claer. dylan was a complte prick, but his prickishness gave birth to genius
Cease: the firesign think their last 3 albums are as good as their first 4, and i can't disagree
llanwydd: those are great for sure
Cease: as an old person, one always values one's new stuff as good as the original genius
Cease: i think one has to go that to move forward, as opposed to falling backwards
Cease: a cup of acid
llanwydd: I agree cat. but then they will always hear that they are not what they used to be
Cease: if we put out art to a public, whcih is ubiquitous now, we expect a reception.
Cease: firesign have been around for so long, their fan's grandkids can discover them
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
llanwydd: what is before they changed the water?
||||||||| "8:00 PM? I'm late!" exclaims Cease, who then runs out through the french doors and down through the garden.
||||||||| Catherwood enters with Cease close behind, mutters something about disrupting his 8:00 PM tree-stunting plans, and rushes off to the anteroom.
Cease: you still here, Nancy?
Cease: it
llanwydd: is this magic mushroom stuff?
Cease: water is one of their recent albums. showsw from their early days
Cease: no, a bit later.
llanwydd: aha
Cease: Tween does a great job of assembling these things. i do some
Cease: but, there are so few of us who who influenced by firsign and continue to work to bring their genius into memory
Nancy Kat: Am yes.
Deputy Dang: I'll never understand how he/y'all make it all fit in a specific timeframe.
Cease: this should be the golden age of firesign fandom. unfortunately, it aint
Nancy Kat: My roommates think i'm tetched 'cause I just recited the last bit word for word...
Cease: you have roomates? are you in university?
Cease: tetched is an american midwestern term?
Deputy Dang: I think so, though I first heard it in Florida.
Cease: people move
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "How does he make his voice do that?"
Nancy Kat: I picked it up from Red Dwarf, I think...lol...well, a friend is staying with us for a while and technically Maevies and Brandon are my roommates...and the cat...
Cease: we're both cats, Nancy
Cease: the muddle class
Nancy Kat: The cat has commandeered my lap
Cease: they do that
Cease: my cat died 2 years ago and i'm too old to get a new one.
Cease: 74 on Sat.
Cease: cut off here is 70. dont want people to die befofre their cats
Deputy Dang: That's how I am--my last cat died 2 years ago, and I don't want to get another because I'll likely die before it does.
Cease: bummer, eh?
Deputy Dang: Yeah. :-/
Cease: this deprives of us something that would benefit both us and the cats
Cease: it makes sense, but it does more harm than good, in separating loving relatinships
Cease: you have pets, Nancy?
Deputy Dang: Every now and then I reconsider getting a previously-owned cat. Then I reconsider again and have no cat.
Cease: i would lvoe to have a cat now. but...
Nancy Kat: Azreal's been with us since 2020, if i remember correctly.
Nancy Kat: Just followed Brandon in one night
Cease: the older one gets, the louder death becomes. a pet goes a long way to distwncew us from our own mortalitity, eh>?
Cease: th4e symbols of depression is a factor.
Deputy Dang: I should probably find some depression quiz. I don't feel I'm depressed, but I keep wondering.
Deputy Dang: Maybe I should just watch less news.
Cease: good idea, dang
Cease: i am deeply into creating my new play. creativity forces hsppins upon me
Cease: lots of bummers in my vegas trips, but enjoyement overwhelmed the bummers
Cease: this is an oddly pessimistic piece
Cease: as a crestive person with grandkids, i feel an obligation to be optimistic, and thus create a better future our progeny will dwel in.
Deputy Dang: I don't think I've heard that Princeton/prison/jail/Yale wordplay before.
Cease: taylor has done a wonderufl job of collecting these old shows
Cease: Firesign is lucky to have him doiing this, ie, understantding how imoportant it is to do this, and then doing it
Cease: i've done my bit
Cease: dont know how long i'll live, but i have spent a large portion of my ilfe promoting Fireswign
Cease: Mushroom plays, 67
Cease: thanks, tween bot
Nancy Kat: Illinoiz
Deputy Dang: I appreciate your efforts and Tweeny and all the folks who help!
Cease: we should meet, NANCY
Deputy Dang: I'll see y'all here next week! Cheeers!
||||||||| "8:00 PM? I'm late!" exclaims Deputy Dang, who then rushes out through the french doors and down through the bushes.
Nancy Kat: NINI Dddang!
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Nancy Kat: Lol, Cease, next time you're in my neck of the woods, lemme know. I'll make some coffee and we can stare at the Shkqwirrelsz.
Nancy Kat: NINI llan!
Nancy Kat: Fangz, Tweeny!
||||||||| It's 1:15 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Cease - dead from the fiddlers
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
