||||||||| At 8:00 PM, Tweeny vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Catherwood enters with Deputy Dang close behind, mumbles something about disrupting his 8:00 PM tree-stunting plans, and scurries off to the vestibule.
||||||||| At 8:00 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Deputy Dang!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Deputy Dang gets out at 8:00 PM.
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Catherwood!
||||||||| Catherwood rushes alongside Deputy Dang and says "Did you want me?"
||||||||| Catherwood accompanies Cease into the room, accepts a jar of pennies as a gratuity, grumbles something about 8:00 PM, then departs.
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Cease!
Cease: Hi all
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood intones: "8:00 PM and late as usual, it's Beet, just back from Funfun Town."
Beet: Hello!
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Beet!
Beet: Hi, Deputy, Cease.
Deputy Dang: Is it always 8:00 PM?
Beet: It is always 8:00 PM somewhere.
Deputy Dang: Apparently I haven't heard JACK POET LOVES YOU.
Beet: Haven't heard this one before.
Cease: yeah it's really good
Cease: Hey Beet
Cease: I was listening to all theri Valhalla Gasolne ads thoday
Cease: Same kind of humor
Beet: Good to see you, Mr. C.
Cease: will have part one of my new colage next thurs.
Beet: We are still without archiving?
Cease: we made it the old fashioned way
Cease: we are without many things, beet. most iportant to me, my new play.
Beet: OK.
Cease: no idea why.
Deputy Dang: I hope the audio doesn't flake out again.
Cease: doc seems busy with something else.
Cease: yeah dang
Beet: Hope all is well with him.
Cease: i know not.
Cease: i sound realy stoned there.
Beet: Were you really stoned?
Cease: cerrtainly
Cease: as almost every chat since day chat one.
Deputy Dang: I couldn't tell. I still haven't gotten any sativa to try. I might need to pee for employment soon, so best avoid it for now.
Cease: indeed, dang. you can live without it.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Why does the porridge bird lay his egg in the air?"
Beet: I have fequently been intrigued by their picking the Nazi Hermen Goering to sing about.
Cease: cuz its the same as an indoneseian dish, nasi goring.
Cease: too spicty for me.
Beet: lol
Beet: Who remembers Louis Prima?
Deputy Dang: It sounds familiar, but I'm drawing a blank.
Beet: Keeley Smith was hot.
Beet: They did a song called, "That Old Black Magic".
Cease: before my time
Cease: bergman's show had a version of that song as sung by sammy davis jr
Beet: It was a huge hit.
Cease: if i know it, it must have been
Cease: in bergman's skit, sammy is a hologram. hence, black magic
Beet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qpjxx9BOm-0

Cease: i remember going to tapings of lots of tv shows when i lived in la
Beet: Most've been fun.
Beet: Must've
Cease: yerah, sometimes. bt it wasn';t a big thing, it was just something you could do if you lived there.

Deputy Dang: Just a tweeny?
Cease: tweeny not among us these days, until his schedule changes
Beet: I miss going to live sports events.
Beet: And hearing live music.
Cease: as an old person, i rarely do anything, though several restaurants with friensd recentlhy highly enjoyable.
Cease: i'd love tro see santana live
Cease: he's not so healthy.
Deputy Dang: I certainly don't want to see him die
Beet: I saw him in an open-air concert after his peak, but still a great concert
Cease: i saw the stones in 89? not so good. actualy i've seen lots of shitty shows.
Beet: The one time I saw The Stones ,it was a very good show.
Cease: one of the best was cannonball adderly at the Troubadoor in 71. Recorded as the BlackMessiah album
Beet: Bet that was a good one.
Cease: taj mahjal with firesign theatre on new yearfs eve, 69. ossman has been posting the ads for that show
Cease: i was mesmerized. my cousin (and drivre) was afraid i had gone too far into the music to return from

Cease: piano was the highlight of Taj's set. Firsign not so good.
Cease: i shared a joint with both Phils and my date before the show and they sounded impaired, not inspired.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Deputy Dang: weed can affect your hearing
Cease: it has many effects
Cease: a hole of the black persuaison

Cease: Ausin Really thought of himself as a writer, and rightly so.
Deputy Dang: I don't know if there is a backstory to the conversations, but I imagine the old detective is Nick Danger.

Deputy Dang: "Salad days" is a Shakespearean idiom referring to a period of carefree innocence, idealism, and pleasure associated with youth. The modern use describes a heyday, when a person is/was at the peak of their abilities, while not necessarily a youth.
