||||||||| Tweeny - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, December 19, 2024 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Catherwood walks up and pipes up "Presenting 'Beet', just granted probation at 8:00 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
Beet: Howdy Friends.
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
||||||||| 8:00 PM: Deputy Dang jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past year and a half!"
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Beet!
Beet: hey, Deputy.
||||||||| A time machine materializes at 8:00 PM and Cease sashays out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Cease!
Beet: Yo, Cease.
Cease: hi folks
Beet: How are y'all tonight?
Deputy Dang: Every week I am amazed how quickly Thursday gets here. It's frightening.
Deputy Dang: I'm not sure if thats an answer.

Cease: bart as one of the dancing chacters

Cease: the kids who were kids in this likely have grandkids now
Cease: this converssatiom is from 2010
Cease: no tween tonight?
Deputy Dang: He wasn't here when I got here. Beet was.
Beet: He is here virtually playng tapes from a distance.
Cease: aha
Deputy Dang: My mom had a rambler rebel. It was red. It's the first car I remember. I was around 4-5 years old then.
Cease: wow
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Tweeny plummets into the garden at 8:00 PM.
Tweeny: Evenin' folks...
Tweeny: Was busy
Tweeny: How's the arm coming, Cat?
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Tweeny!
Cease: hii tween
Beet: Howdy Mr Tween
Cease: fine if i dont move it, which sometimes is difficult
Cease: just read novel called Death and the Penguin
Deputy Dang: Did it prominently feature Burgess Meredith?
||||||||| BuzzyKrumhunger bounds in at 8:00 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Cease: Ukrainian novel by andrey kurkov,
Beet: Hey, Buzzy.

Cease: bi buzz
Deputy Dang: Howdy, BuzzyKrumhunger!
Cease: stll hungry for crumbs?
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Heavy on the 30 weight."
BuzzyKrumhunger : Hugh Betcha! And more sugar with all them crumbs.
Beet: Love the music.
Cease: me too
Deputy Dang: Is this Phil Austin?
Cease: no
Cease: some other radio comedian
Deputy Dang: I wasn't sure so figured I should ask. :-)
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Cease: good sentiment but not a good song
||||||||| llanwydd enters at 8:00 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and dashes off to the Hat Pack Annex.
llanwydd: good evening dear friends
Beet: Hi, llan
llanwydd: everybody finish their christmas shopping?
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Open up, your door knocker fell off!"
Cease: llan
Deputy Dang: Howdly, llanwydd!
Deputy Dang: I haven't started shopping. Probably going to skip it this year.
Beet: It's that time again. Gotta split. Enjoyed tonight's offerings. Everyone have a great Christmas. See you next week. G'Nite.
Cease: you too, beet
Deputy Dang: Gnite, Beet!
Tweeny: I read Grace Slick's autobio. It was very good
Cease: indeed
Tweeny: I don't like their naive embrace of communist China back in the day, but they did make some very good music
llanwydd: I dont remember any political remarks that they made
Cease: they did
Tweeny: Their songs like Sketches Of China and Ride The Tiger come to mind
llanwydd: I was hardly aware of them in their early days
Tweeny: They were part of a rebellion against American Imperialism in the Vietnam era, and I get that
Cease: this is from, i think, their 3rd album
Cease: notice firersign and airplane quoting Ulysses about the same time

llanwydd: not in my lifetime
llanwydd: in the far future. by then it will be a good thing
Cease: star trek
llanwydd: lol
llanwydd: maybe a galactic government
Tweeny: llanwydd: I dont like imperialism either but I think there will be a one-world government someday << way too many differences in religion and cultures for that to happen unless like under an authoritian police state like the Soviet Union (which didn't work)
llanwydd: time will iron out religion and culture
Tweeny: I find amusing Star Trek's concept of President Of Earth. Like their "we don't use money" ideal, it's pure fantasy.
Tweeny: In the long run? Hey, we'll see
llanwydd: I predict that someday there will be only two languages in the world, english and chinese
Tweeny: llanwydd: I dont like imperialism either but I think there will be a one-world government someday << The closest thing humanity has come to a shared set of ideals is the U.S. Constitution and Bill Of Rights.
Cease: no we wont
llanwydd: and there will only be one chinese language
Cease: there are many now
Cease: this is jeremy braddock, the guy who wrote the new fiersign book
llanwydd: I am sure I am right about that but unfortunately we wont be around to see it
llanwydd: I had the first two firesign books
Cease: thios is brand new. an academic tome
llanwydd: cool
Cease: thios is a radio show from a fewe weeks ago
Deputy Dang: very recent?!
Cease: novembere
Cease: 2 hour interview
Cease: jerermy has a website with a link
Cease: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgzQXKWjfhTlVWKMbwFXNccpqGqbd
Cease: actually, a sunstack
Cease: seems to replacing websites these days
Deputy Dang: I don't think that link is going to work
Cease: look up jeremy braddock and you'll find him
Deputy Dang: https://magazine.mindplex.ai/firesign-theatre-the-greatest-satirist-of-20th-century-media-culture-and-its-techno-romanticism-were-not-insane-an-interview-with-jeremy-bradock/ I found this article but will have to look harder to find the interview itself. Maybe there's a link on this page. I'll look later.
llanwydd: COOL
BuzzyKrumhunger : What’s brown and sounds like a bell?
BuzzyKrumhunger : Dunggggg
Deputy Dang: lol
Tweeny: Thanks for listening, everyone...
Cease: immortality next week
Deputy Dang: Thanks, Cease! Thanks, Tweeny! Thanks, Et Al! Thanks, Ibid!
||||||||| "Hey Deputy Dang!" ... Deputy Dang turns, and sees Bradshaw approching with the handcuffs, and is dragged away, screaming "it's only 8:00 PM, I don't have to go yet!"...
Cease: merry holidays
||||||||| At 8:00 PM, Cease vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!
llanwydd: Great Show! Thanks Tweeny and Cat. Merry Christmas Everybody!
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 2 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Tweeny: Until last time, again...
||||||||| Tweeny is kicked out just as the clock strikes 8:00 PM.
||||||||| "8:00 PM? I'm late!" exclaims llanwydd, who then dashes out through the french doors and down through the flowerbeds.

||||||||| It's 3:15 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Beet - dead from pneumonia
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood enters, and announces to all and sundry "It's 4:31 AM, time to change the log file and clean out unused rooms; please exit the chat room for a minute or two. Thank you for your patience."
