||||||||| morlog sneaks in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last month's "unpleasant incident."
morlog: corn

Cease: Hi all

Tweeny: ricebread?
Tweeny: corn
morlog: kind of
Cease: The restaurant I was at last Thursday wouldn't give me its WiFi password so I couldn't chat.

Beet: Howdy
Tweeny: yo Beet
||||||||| Deputy Dang sneaks in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last year's "unpleasant incident."
Deputy Dang: Wait a minute... is this thing on?
Tweeny: howdy Deputy
Beet: Hi, Tweeny, Deputy, Cease, morlog.
Deputy Dang: Howdy, pardners!
Tweeny: the correct show is playing on RFD
Cease: Hi folks
Cease: Have we listened to the last 2 collages based on Phil's Autobiography?
Cease: Didn't hear or chat last week, from Santa Fe
Beet: We definitely had some of it.
Cease: last week?
Beet: Yep
Cease: The last one was called Another World. Did you hear that?
Beet: Don't recall the title.
Deputy Dang: Why does God need a starship?
Cease: It began with a little clip from a bio of Frank Lloyd Wright

morlog: thats actually a real thing
morlog: fighting clowns of holywood
Tweeny: I was interested to read that Frank Llyod Wright was involved in the design of the flying saucer in The Day The Earth Stood Still
Cease: didn't know that
Tweeny: morlog: fighting clowns of holywood << is that a band or something?
morlog: a gang
Tweeny: *Lloyd
Tweeny: hah
morlog: hholywood is a strange place
Tweeny: Phil Proctor lives in Beverly Hills
Beet: The Day The Earth Stood Still is one of my favorite movies.
Tweeny: A classic of the era, for sure
Cease: Barely remember it
Tweeny: The Day the Earth Stood Still - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043456/
Tweeny: "An alien lands in Washington, D.C. and tells the people of Earth that they must live peacefully or be destroyed as a danger to other planets."
Tweeny: It was quite something for the time, when humanity nuking itself into oblivion was a real possibility
Tweeny: not that that isn't happening today :/
Cease: This was my recording. It was the last of the Hour Hours
Tweeny: glad you recorded it :)
Cease: Many people should have
Tweeny: I'm still amazed the radio station didn't have it in their archives
Tweeny: esp being a 'public radio' station
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "...And no Buddhist writers either!"
Cease: that station is long gone. no this was on a commercial station, kppc
Tweeny: ah, so Hour Hour was not on KPFK?
Tweeny: didn't realize that
Cease: no
Cease: Dragnet
Cease: their radio shows were drenched in LA
Tweeny: it was a moment in history
Tweeny: L.A. and S.F. are in really bad shape these days :(
Cease: so i hear
Cease: Both Santa Fe and Denver seemed to be doing great
Cease: How about Austin?
Tweeny: Austin's doing OK, but the big tech boom changed everything
Tweeny: Musk and others have moved their company headquarters here, and housing has become very expensive
Cease: All Iknew of New Mexico is from Breaking Bad, which portrays ABQ as a very scary place
Beet: No longer the best kept secret. Joe Rogan helped.
Tweeny: the musicians who make it The Live Music Capital Of The World can't afford to live here
Tweeny: the musicians who make it The Live Music Capital Of The World can't afford to live here
Tweeny: deja vu...
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
||||||||| It's 12:00 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| morlog - dead from the fiddlers
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Cease: by morlog
Cease: Still here, Beet and Dang?
Cease: i'm surprised they could say " for christ's sake"
Beet: Well, time to go. It was fun being with you tonight. Thanks to Tweeny and Cease. See everyone next week. G'Nite.
Cease: by beet
Tweeny: au revoir Beet
Deputy Dang: I'm listening still.
Cease: good to hear, dang. did you tell me you once lived in santa fe?
Tweeny: be right back...
||||||||| Tweeny says "Catherwood, call me a cab." After the obvious joke, Tweeny exits at 8:00 PM.
Cease: ossman lived there in the 80s, so I identify it with him, his poems about his life there
||||||||| "8:00 PM? 8:00 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Tweeny should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Tweeny enters and sits on the couch.
Deputy Dang: I have lived in California, Ohio, New York and Florida.
Tweeny: a good sampling of American States
Cease: NOt NM? I had a wonderful 2 days there. Wasn't fond of the heat, but everything else was great
Tweeny: rather different cultures
Deputy Dang: I'm not sure if I've ever even driven through NM.
Tweeny: good to hear Cease, glad it went well :)
Cease: it calls itself the city different.
Tweeny: I've travelled on I-40 a few times so I've been through it
Cease: from wed morning, when i went to the state capitol, to thursday evening, when i went to great restuarant, i had a wonderful time.
Tweeny: kewl
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Scene 3 - Take 600"
Cease: posted a lot of pix on facebook. should have collage and blog in a week or 2
Tweeny: any requests for next week's show, Deputy?
Tweeny: something you'd like to hear that maybe you haven't heard in a while?
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "And you can believe me - because I never lie, and I'm always right."
Deputy Dang: Everything I think of feels like we've heard it recently. Everything You Know Is Wrong, Not Insane, Two Places at Once?
Cease: It's all great.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "It was hotter than Hooker in Heater today, and hotter than Heater in Hellmouth."
Tweeny: We last heard EYKIW in February
Deputy Dang: I only know the "main" albums well enough to give recommendations. Their live material (other than Giant Rat and Shakespeare) I don't know enough to recommend. Like the Magic Mushroom stuff.
Tweeny: Same for Not Insane
Deputy Dang: In my defense, February is over 6 months ago. ;-)
Tweeny: and Two Places in January
Tweeny: so any would be fine
Tweeny: EYKIW is my personal all-time favorite
Deputy Dang: I agree! :-D
Tweeny: We could fit two of them into a show
Cease: Shall welisten to it next week? I want to play New Mexican Overdive cuz it blends into my colage.
Tweeny: We could do Two Places and EYKIW together
Cease: That would be fun
Tweeny: OK, then we'll do that
Cease: I thought this was the reason the show ended. They guys told me it was just a format change, but this is the sort of rap that could gt you fired from commercal radio in 1970, and probably now too.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "This is Major Hit in the cockpit of the Enola McLuhan."
Deputy Dang: who is playing this music?
Cease: earl jive
Deputy Dang: I mean, was it them or session musicians?
Deputy Dang: ok
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Won't spurt like the hosers!"
Deputy Dang: Goodnight all! Thank you Tweeny and Cat!
Cease: no,jive just played music on the show. i dont know if they had much input
Cease: by
Deputy Dang: I'm in the mood for a melody!
Tweeny: Been fun folks :)
||||||||| Deputy Dang is thrown out the window just as the clock strikes 8:00 PM.
Tweeny: Good Robert Plant :)
||||||||| "Hey Cease!" ... Cease turns, and sees Bradshaw approching with the handcuffs, and is dragged away, screaming "it's only 8:00 PM, I don't have to go yet!"...
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Tweeny: Until last time, again...
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Wake up - and consider your only logical choice."
||||||||| Around 8:00 PM, Tweeny walks off into the sunset...
||||||||| It's 1:15 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Beet - dead from The Plague
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood enters, and announces to all and sundry "It's 4:31 AM, time to change the log file and clean out unused rooms; please exit the chat room for a minute or two. Thank you for your patience."
