Tweeny: and welcome to the Firesign Chat :)
||||||||| "8:00 PM? 8:00 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Beet should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Beet enters and sits at the bar.
Beet: Hello.
Tweeny: Yo Beet
Nancy Kat: Cease-kicked the comp so it will play the audio. Speaking of Espana-i've started duolingo for Spanish, Irish and Japanese.
Nancy Kat: BEET! Heylas! and Hi to those who I've never met.
Beet: Hey, Tweeny.
Tweeny: That sounds like quite a combination
Deputy Dang: Howdy Nancy! Howdy Kiyyik! Howdy Cease! Howdy Beet!
Cease: I did Duolingo for a few monthes before I went to Spain. Didn't help
Beet: Hi Nancy Kat
Cease: Beet
Beet: Hello, Cease.
Cease: I just finished The Demon-Haunted World by CArl Sagan. I wonder what Carl woulot think of Proc's tales
Tweeny: A lot of the people where I work are bi-lingual English/Spanish, switching between them seamlessly, and I am quite envious
Beet: Yo, Deputy, Kiyyik, morlog.
Nancy Kat: I do better with Spanish since I took French for so long. But the grammar is still a bit hard.
Cease: Dang. Morlog
Nancy Kat: it's the speed of talking that trips me up.
Cease: Most of the time, I'd begin speaking in Spanish and the other person would switch to English immediately. Most of the time.
Deputy Dang: Is this from Eat or Be Eaten, Director's Cut?
Cease: no, this is Pink Hotel burns down, released on cassette originally
Nancy Kat: I hear that most countries are glad if you try speaking the language. And then there's France...
Cease: A compilation cassette they sold in the days of cassettes
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "What about my pickle?"
Tweeny: There are lots of similarities between French and Spanish in sentince structure and some words
Cease: Yeah, I had more problems communicating in France then in Spain and I had years of French in school, although that was Long Ago.
Nancy Kat: *Hands Catherwood a HUGE Kosher Dill*
||||||||| Catherwood walks up to Nancy Kat and inquires "Did you want me?"
Tweeny: Nancy Kat, Cease just took a trip to Spain and he says they appreciated that he tried to speak their language
Cease: I also ate better in France, which is odd because I went to Spain for the food.
Cease: People were in general REALLY NICE in Spain. Not so in France.
Nancy Kat: Cease-was the French "Canadian" French or Parisian French? I had both kinds of teachers in High School. My favorite was from Montreal-Her name was madame Brisebois...a tall, beefy woman who smoked cigars.
||||||||| Catherwood stomps in at 8:00 PM, dragging llanwydd by the hair and asks "Can anyone vouch for this web surfer?"

Beet: hi, llan
Cease: Both Food and Louvre for sure, but my fave museum in Paris is a converted train station
Cease: Musee D'Orsay.
Tweeny: Cease: I had French teachers who weren't from Quebec in school. << I'm sure Parisian French is different from Quebec Frence, and probably unrecognizable compared to Louisiana Cajun
llanwydd: I lost my internet just as I came into the chat room last week
llanwydd: chez metro
Cease: The restaurant in the Eiffel Tower is worth going to Paris for.
Cease: bummer, llan
Beet: I would love to see the renovated Notre Dame in December.
Cease: yeah. my hotel was close to Notre Dame. There was a shooting there that shut down that part of the city when I was there. Suddenly the streets were all full of cops with machine guns.
Cease: Notre Dame is well worth seeing, but true for a lot of things in France.
Nancy Kat: Beet-Seeing Notre Dame during the Olympics made me cry. i'm a big Art/ Architecture fan.
Cease: What brings you here, Kiyyik
Beet: I can totally relate to that.
Cease: Me Too, Nancy.
Beet: One side benefit to the tragedy of the fire is everything is restored and cleaned now.
llanwydd: what would quasimodo have said?
Cease: Hope you get to see it. It;s wonderful.
Beet: "Ring My Bell"
llanwydd: lol
Cease: Whatever, it would have been in French so I couldn't understand him
llanwydd: well he might have said something in latin

Cease: the joint was new year's eve, 1969
llanwydd: austin was really tall when I met him
Cease: not only much shorted but he was built like a football player in 69. more like a dead guy in 2010.
Cease: bergman looked like the pillsbury dough boy
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..

Cease: Wow. I was in Chicago for 4 nights during the Democratic Convention of 2008. Great food, art, archicture. Great vibes.
Deputy Dang: Was the bus uncomfortable or was it the road that caused the pain?
Cease: https://seemrealland.blogspot.com/2008/09/ SCroll down to the Chicago stuff
