||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 3 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| It's 3:45 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Tweeny - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Tweeny enters at 8:00 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and runs off to the Haberdashery Barn.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 7 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| It's 7:15 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Tweeny - dead from the yaws
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, August 01, 2024 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| Catherwood escorts morlog inside, makes a note of the time (8:00 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
morlog: i like cheese
||||||||| Catherwood stumbles in and snorts derisively "Presenting 'Tweeny', just granted probation at 8:00 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
Tweeny: Hey morlog, you're a bit early
morlog: na, im late for last week
Tweeny: I should have my scooter our of the shop by the middle of next week. I'll let you know so we can make some plans to get together on the RV.
morlog: cool
Tweeny: morlog: na, im late for last week << haha, true ;)
Tweeny: *out of the shop (but you know what I meant)
morlog: yeah
morlog: took a ride down to south park meadows today
Tweeny: kewl
Tweeny: so the ebike is working well?
morlog: yeah, it has some quirks but nothing serious
morlog: hit 750 miles on it today
Tweeny: not bad for just getting around town
Tweeny: glad you've got it working the way you want
Tweeny: I've got a little under 4800 on the scooter since early 2020
morlog: cool
morlog: thats about 100 miles a month
Tweeny: are you able to ride the bike lanes?
morlog: yeah
Tweeny: that's good
morlog: as far as the laws are concerned, its a bike
Tweeny: the speeds are sort of in between bicycle and car traffic
morlog: kind of
morlog: on a decent mountain bike i can go just as fast as my ebike
Tweeny: really, wow
Tweeny: 30mph?
morlog: i used to have a haro mnt bike that i would of blown the doors off this ebike with
morlog: 30mph isnt that hard on a mnt bike, especiALLY A MODERN ONE
morlog: 40 AND 50 MPH ARE ACHIEVABLE
morlog: sorry about the caps
morlog: i remember on maui that there wer some people riding road bikes that i couldnt keep up with on my scooter
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Offer not good after curfew in sectors R or N."
Tweeny: wow, that's amazing
Tweeny: wouldn't have thought that possible on a mountain bike
morlog: yeah
morlog: the haro mnt bike i had was made for racing singletrack
Tweeny: how many speeds do they have?
morlog: it was the last one they made with rim brakes, after that year they started putting disc brakes on everything
morlog: i dont know nowadays, last time i looked they got all the way up to 27
Tweeny: yipes
Tweeny: so 9 with three levels
morlog: yeah
morlog: some of them put all the gears on the rear wheel
Tweeny: whoa
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Get on it and do it every day!"
morlog: not sure if they put all 27 but i say at least 12
||||||||| Deputy Dang sneaks in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last night's "unpleasant incident."
Tweeny: Howdy Deputy
Deputy Dang: Howdy, morlog! Howdy, Tweeny!
morlog: they are moving away from that now and going to a 3 speed gearbox in the front and 9 gears on the wheel
||||||||| Beet steals in around 8:00 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last year's "unpleasant incident."
Beet: Howdy, Pardners!
morlog: hey there

Deputy Dang: Howdy, Beet!
