||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 7 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 8 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| It's 8:30 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Tweeny - dead from jaundice
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Outside, the 8:00 PM downtown bus from Hellmouth pulls away, leaving Tweeny coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!"
||||||||| It's 9:15 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Tweeny - dead from the common cold
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood strides up and snorts derisively "Presenting 'Tweeny', just granted probation at 8:00 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
||||||||| Outside, the 8:00 PM downtown bus from Elmertown pulls away, leaving Deputy Dang coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Tweeny: Howdy Deputy
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Tweeny!
||||||||| Cease sashays in at 8:00 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Tweeny: Hey Cease
Cease: Hi chatters
Deputy Dang: Howdy, Cease!
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 11 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Tweeny: Catherwood, check your watch
||||||||| Catherwood says "It's 8:00 PM"
Deputy Dang: I think it's a UTC problem.
Deputy Dang: Or maybe daylight saving?
Cease: 11 0 5 30
Cease: i've always been confused by "cat pee toilet"as if cats pee in one toilet and shit in another
Cease: but then, Firesign is Supposed to be confusing. a koan thing
Cease: tweeny, your pual mccartney birthday tribute last week is inspiring a new collage.
Cease: he crosses south park
Tweeny: Cool, Cat :)
Cease: i was born in South Park Hospital in Yorkton, Sask.
Cease: Monkberry Moon Delight inspired a lot of Firesign Refs.
Cease: Hopefully I can do the whole album,
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Everyone knew her as Nancy."
Tweeny: Ram is a really good first solo album for McCartney
Cease: actrually, quite a bit better than his first album.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Heavy on the 30 weight."
Cease: i like more songs on Ram than I do the White Album.
Cease: On the White Album, I like Dear Prudence, and, uh....
Tweeny: Ram wasn't his first solo album?
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Let the air out of your shoes and prepare yourself for a period of simulated relxation."
Tweeny: Maybe I misunderstood you
Cease: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCartney_(album)
Tweeny: Ah, I didn't know that it wasn't his first solo album
Tweeny: Interesting...
Tweeny: looks like I don't have that one
Cease: looking at the White Album tracklist, I see other tunes I enjoyed, but it was never majestic in the way that some of the songs on Ram are, as well as AB Road and Pepper, even Revolver
Cease: I liked Lennon's Maharishi-bashing Sexy Sadie. Just read Aquarius Revisited by a shrink named Petre O Whitmer, prfiles of the creators of the 60s
Cease: odd he didnt include Firesign
Cease: anywahy, there's a couple of chapters on Rajneesh, which took over a town in Oregon.
Cease: the people he encountered there were like the zombies who flocked to Indian gurus
Tweeny: Had no idea that Lennon bashed the Maharishi
Cease: yep. you can look it up.
Cease: captured well in Paperback Writer, funniest bio of Beatles you will ever read.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "May I take your hat and goat?"
Cease: only Geroge was really sucked in, and at least he got some musical inspiration from Indian musicians.
Cease: considering how rich they got so fast, it's no surprise they could be sucked into other, theoreticlaly less materialistic, more spiritually fulfilling paths
Cease: act one of my new plays dislpays George Harrison worried about diieing broke. I overheard the conversation.
Cease: Instead, he had $500 million when he died.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "They had to come from small towns with strange names."
Deputy Dang: that sounds pretty fulfilling
Cease: lol
Cease: be he ghost or goat or ghost of goat. love that.
Deputy Dang: ghost of goat or both!
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and JZip disembarks at 8:00 PM.
JZip waves
Cease: The Zipman cometh
Deputy Dang: Howdy, JZip!
JZip: It was a long day's journey into early evening.
Tweeny: Evenin' JZip
JZip: Hi, folks!
Cease: 8 days a night?
JZip: I wish--the night time is not the right time for me lately.
JZip: The loved their Shakespeare.
Cease: i suspect shakespeare would approve
Tweeny: best live recording they ever made :-)
||||||||| Catherwood walks in wearing his pyjamas, yawns, and mumbles "It's midnight here in New York city"...then he falls over and starts snoring loudly..
Cease: true, tween
Cease: there were so many versions of this
Tweeny: a staple of their live performances
Deputy Dang: I liked that one also. Same same but different.
Cease: Doc Tech, Merl and I shared a hotel room in Seattle for this tour. Right after tis album, they came ot Seattle and did two shows.
Tweeny: That must have been wonderful :)
Cease: I hitnk there is a CD of the shows from Firezine. It would be a good idea to hear that next, to see how similar they were, eh?
Tweeny: Yeah, would love to have a copy of that
Cease: I'll send it to you somehow, Tween.
Cease: I get lots of inspriation from Roadkill
Cease: Inspired to makes collages from the Ram album now.
Cease: oh my goodness, that didn't work, tween. did i onlyh send you half the intro?
Cease: i should have listened to it before i sent it to you
Tweeny: Yeah, I just played what you went me :/
Tweeny: Didn't listen to it first
Deputy Dang: haven;t heard moby grape in forever
Cease: lothar and the hand people?
Tweeny: Ah, it looks like the problem may have been on my end :(
Tweeny: I have two files from that email
Cease: what we tend to forget, as though there was much greatr music we rememeber fondly, there was a tidal wave of terrible music at the same time
Cease: the the first time i got stoned, the folks i was with put on the soundtrack from Hair.
Tweeny: Weird, I'm seeing two attachments on both computers
Cease: it made grass seem like a Terrible Idea
Tweeny: Resend it and I'll patch the FST archive
Cease: then i went back to my dorm room and listened to the first quicksilver album (very good), followed by Steve Miller's Sailor
Tweeny: Send it again Cease
Cease: good enought by itself. stoned (for the first time) that first cut Song for Our Ancestors is miraculous
Cease: will do , tween
Cease: that was only a couple of weeks ago. harrry sheaer's Le Show, great show
Cease: so i can work qicikly, if so inspired.
Cease: i just switfhed from Tinto (spanish drink) to rose witnh strawberries now
Cease: needed the right wine with the tune
Cease: a lot of spain was finding the right wine (sometimes cidre) to go with the food.
Cease: if yuo read my blog, you'll notice that often the wine i had with the meal was far better thant the food. and that's not saying much.tihs is not fine wine. and barelyh good food.
Cease: https://seemreal.com/blog/index.php/2024/06/08/eating-spain/
Tweeny: Sorry to hear Spain's food was such a disappointment :/ Hope you enjoyed other aspects of the trip though
Tweeny: Why travel the world for great cuisine when you can get it all in Vegas, right? ;)
Tweeny: The Spanish cuisine in Vegas is probably better
Cease: actually no. the spanish cuisine in vegas is no better than spain, and i should have realizexd that before i went to spain
Cease: on the other paw, when i went to france 7 years, what i learned from great french chefs in vegas gave me amazing meals in paris
Cease: yeah, i doubt i'[ll ever travel for food again. i can eat as well as is humanlyh possible in vegas. close, cheap
||||||||| Outside, the 8:00 PM downtown bus from Hellmouth pulls away, leaving johan amadeus myjetski coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Cease: i might travel for other reasons, if health allows
Cease: hey jammy. good to catch you at last
johan amadeus myjetski: i canno see, look out for me!
Tweeny: Hey johan
johan amadeus myjetski: hey kurt!
Tweeny: last 8 minutes of the show
Cease: we lookin and we like what we see
Cease: proctor Loves to sing, almost since birth
Cease: even more than i love to eat good food.
Cease: minor synchronicity, i type the word "food" and he sings "food"
johan amadeus myjetski: the way is so far out, itks in
Cease: here's an example of Major Sinchronicity: When we were both teachers in Tokyo, the local UJS miliary station FEN used to play old radio shows in the evening. We'd tape them and exchange the ones we hadn't tsaped.
Cease: JOel gave me a tape of abbot and costello. they were in alaska and bougth a dog sled. costello sent the dogs into action, and at the same second, out myu window, a team of dogs pulling man in a wheel chair went by.
johan amadeus myjetski: & from maj. synchronocity & minor synchro, what did you synthesize?
Deputy Dang: I enjoyed myself. And I enjoyed y'all too! :-D
Cease: that;s major league
johan amadeus myjetski: nite all!
Deputy Dang: night night!
johan amadeus myjetski: joni!
Cease: will have RAM collage by sept. by for now
Cease: love joni's voice
||||||||| At 8:00 PM, Deputy Dang vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!
||||||||| At 8:00 PM, Cease rushes out the door saying "Hey, mister ice-cream man, I've got a nickel, wait for meeeee..."
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Tweeny: Until last time, again...
||||||||| Tweeny runs out the back door as Mayor P'nisnose blasts through the front door holding a shotgun and shouting "Where's Tweeny?! It's 8:00 PM and my ballot boxes haven't been stuffed yet!"
||||||||| It's 1:15 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| JZip - dead from the common cold
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| It's 1:30 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| johan amadeus myjetski - dead from The Plague
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood enters, and announces to all and sundry "It's 4:31 AM, time to change the log file and clean out unused rooms; please exit the chat room for a minute or two. Thank you for your patience."
