||||||||| Rufus T Firetween - dead from intense demonic possession
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood ushers Rufus T Firetween into the room, accepts a wooden nickel as a gratuity, mutters something about 8:00 PM, then departs.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.

Beet: Hello to the Deputy, Mr J. A. M., Llan, Two Places and Zen.
Deputy Dang: Ah... Bach!
Beet: Hey, Cease, I started watching Sandman. Quite compelling.
Deputy Dang: How does it compare to Sandman Quixote?
Cease: I prefer the comic books. More visually interesting. Certainly well acted though
Beet: Don't know that one.
Cease: What is Sandman Quxote?
Rufus T Firetween: Cat, David's got a new compilation of all the Tirebiter bits
Rufus T Firetween: ** Buy George Leroy Tirebiter: The Complete Collection at >> https://firesigntheatre.bandcamp.com/album/george-leroy-tirebiter-the-complete-collection
Deputy Dang: It's compelling, or so I hear.
johan amadeus myjetski: i am taking a left at Bach & Fourth
Cease: i didnt know of that, Tween.
Cease: The Complete Collection would be vast
Cease: Oh yes, I saw this before. Maybe we're not supposed to be playing this here.
Deputy Dang: I look for Hollywood starlights whenever I'm in a bar.
Deputy Dang: Gin and lemonade?
Deputy Dang: kinda like a G&T?
Cease: I remember Ossman telling me not to play the Tirebiter Xmas piece on chat
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "You can wait here in the sitting room, or you can sit here in the waiting room."
Cease: I just recorded the soundtrack from Magoo's Xmas carol this morning and will try and turn it into a collage for our Xmas show next week.
Rufus T Firetween: You should ask Taylor for a promotional copy of this
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Back from the Shadows again."
llanwydd: hilarious idea, cat
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "You people are soooooo superstitious!"
Cease: i bought the individual pieces directly from otherworld media, tween
Cease: i see netflix has a long bio of bob marley. saw a cartoon the other day of bob marley visiting scrooge. I'm gonna go with that.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Direct readout - Doctor Memory."
llanwydd: I can imagine such anencounter
Cease: proctor has a great story about meeting bob marley at a club they were jointly performing at in boston.
Rufus T Firetween: but it's likely that the digital release is better than the cassette versions you have :/
Cease: needless to say, much ganja was consumed
Rufus T Firetween: no doubt
Cease: well, i bought these things when they were only cassettes.
Cease: and speaking of whaling, do y'all know Catch and Release Whaling?
llanwydd: not familiar
Cease: From the Digital Diner radio show Bergman did for 2 episodes in the 90s
Cease: i've used it in several of my collages
llanwydd: I have worked on lobster and shrimp boats. never went whaling
llanwydd: did the subject of bob marley remind you of whalers?
Cease: in proc's story, they thought the wailers were the Whalers, singing sea shantys
llanwydd: lol
Cease: the mark of bozo is what they were calling what becmae Give Me Immortality
llanwydd: ahab and the whalers
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood snorts derisively: "8:00 PM and late as usual, it's Bottles, just back from Hellmouth."
llanwydd: sounds like some good reggae
llanwydd: Hi Bottles
Cease: not to mention 20 years behind the whale, the mushroom play
llanwydd: LOL
DJTweeny: Hey Bottles
Cease: No Humpback No Cry
Cease: My favourite drink
Beet: Hi, Bottles.
Bottles: Hey yall
Bottles: Is this readable?
Bottles: Oh there I am.
llanwydd: this might take me a while but my favorite welsh joke goes like this: Two very fat welsh women were sitting on a park bench having a conversation. a gentleman was passing by and heard their accents. He asked them Pardon me. Are you two ladies from Scotland? One of them said Wales, you idiot! The man said Oh I am terribly sorry. Are you two whales from Scotland?
Rufus T Firetween: ** Check out Bottles' SCRATCHED UP RADIO THEATER at >> https://kkrn.org/shows/scratched-up-radio-theater
Bottles: I finally got Linux. Works good until something doesn't.
Bottles: Ha!
Bottles: Rufus, no radio play tonight, it's an interview with a local writer tonight.
Cease: Proctor LOVES singing
llanwydd: he has a great singing voice
Bottles: And Austin too, I'd guess, Cease?
llanwydd: I was booorrrrn an American, I was raiiiiised....
Rufus T Firetween: Austin could have been a professional musician
Bottles: ...an American?
llanwydd: oh, bottles! you dont recognize that?
Bottles: Oh sure,I do llanwydd.
llanwydd: lol
Cease: a superb musician. all of them loved singing but proc more than the others, at least it seems to me.
Bottles: I was just wondering if you were goingto add a surprise ending
llanwydd: well he always had the best voice
Cease: the many times i met austin or talked to him on the phone, he never once burst into song. not true witrh proctor
Beet: Don't forget the Armenians.
Bottles: ...like I was raised an Armenian
Rufus T Firetween: ** Buy George Leroy Tirebiter: The Complete Collection at >> https://firesigntheatre.bandcamp.com/album/george-leroy-tirebiter-the-complete-collection
llanwydd: Bottlesian
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Close the door, and the light stays on!"
llanwydd: was that a nonsequitur,catherwood?
||||||||| Catherwood rushes up to llanwydd and mumbles "oh, fuck off llanwydd!"
Cease: i have seen movies in the egyprtian theatre
Bottles: Mmmm, mango syrup....
llanwydd: I would have loved to see the movie palaces
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Scalp 'em, Tantric!"
llanwydd: cathy is in rare form tonight
Bottles: There were a few left in the 60s llanwydd, but I was so young they just seemed dumpy and a little smelly
llanwydd: interesting
llanwydd: was the egyptian in ruins?
Bottles: Like years of leaky roofs
llanwydd: I can imagine
Cease: i would probably have been there late 50s-earkt 60s. don't know what i saw but the theatre was certainly impressive.
Cease: along with grauman's chinese theatre.
Bottles: They overhauled the Fox in Oakland, took years.
Beet: one of the old theaters in Houston was done in an Egyptian theme.
Cease: the one theatre i most remember was the cinerama dome i saw It's a Mad, etc world.
llanwydd: got to go out for about a half hour. see you in a while
Bottles: And one old vaudeville theatre was put up for sale, but it was determined to be too expensive to renovate.
Bottles: ...so it was torn down.
Cease: Vancouver has done a great job of rennovating its old theatres
Bottles: That's great Cease - cities too often don't want to shell out to renovate an old building - like Notre Dame
Cease: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinerama_Dome
Cease: It was quite a theatre experience.
Bottles: There's an old west theatre in Colorado, where they discovered over a hundred scenery painting backdrops, stored in the attic for over a hundred years. Priceless.
Bottles: Now that I think about it, it was described as an opera house.
Bottles: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/11/arts/music/opera-sets-leadville.html
Bottles: The Tabor Opera House
Cease: NY Times wont let me in.
Cease: the ronald reagan murder case is actually a novel. ossie played with the story for quite a while
Bottles: Yeah, they're not into casual viewing.
Bottles: Did Reagan get murdered in it Cease, or did he solve the mystery?
Cease: neither
Cease: and its sequel, the ufo murder case also didn't have any real ufos
Bottles: That makes sense. What DID he do??
Cease: they are, after all, mysteries
Cease: i'd have to re-read. i just started re-reading The Earth Sea Trilogy, by UK Leguin.
Bottles: There was a movie, and a book I think, called the Gracie Allen Murder Case.
Cease: dont know it
Bottles: ...exactly a classic.
Bottles: I meant NOT exactly a classic..
Cease: i signed up for Netflix fo a month so i'm doing mostly netflix watching this month.
Bottles: Lots of good stuff on Netflix.
Cease: they have a long biopix about bob marley so i'll watch that tonight, for my new collage
Cease: i'm rewatching Servant of the People
Cease: also saw great interview Lettreman did with Zelensky in a subway station in Kiev
Bottles: Ever watched Breaking Bad, Cease?
Cease: yes. better call saul too
Cease: very addictive
Bottles: I haven't made it thru all of Better Call Saul
Cease: the last episodes alternate between colour and b/w very effectively
Bottles: My cousin was a huge fan of Longmire, so we had to binge watch it the month I was there. It's not bad. A modern version of Matt Dillon, it seemed to me.
Bottles: Except no showdown gunfight in every episode
Bottles: At bedtime I've been listening to old Art Bell radio shows lately.
Bottles: They never fail to put me to sleep.
Deputy Dang: I'm regularly surprised when I hear yet-another piece of Firesign Theatre work.
Bottles: Yep
Cease: yes dang, there is a LOT of it. vastly brilliant
Deputy Dang: I tend towards Benny Bell, but I like how you think.

Rufus T Firetween: *recordings, even
Zen Cosmos: nice selection of D.O.
Cease: this was recorded by someone in the audience, as you can hear from that laugh.
Cease: when i bought the album, it sounded terrible. i think i sent it to tween and he decided it was unplayable
Beet: A very good outlet for the classic Firesign.
Bottles: Right - one person laughing is louder than the show.
Rufus T Firetween: either someone in the audience or a mic at the mixing position
Cease: i really happy taylor took this project on
Cease: tween, is this what you meant about bergman's voice being too faint?
Rufus T Firetween: No that comment was about the beginning of Follies, and you said it wasn't Bergman
Bottles: I noticed on one of the Fools In Space show, Austin's mic was almost turned off.
Bottles: And that was in the recording studio. The sound person was asleep maybe.
Cease: on most of the fools shows, austin was in washington state, not in the studio
Cease: maybe just a few, but you could tell the diffrerence.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "It's a beautiful car friends, with doors to match!"
Bottles: But he was in the video. His lips moved, but he was barely audible.
Cease: ah, i see
Rufus T Firetween: generally though the XM series was really well done (imho)
Cease: thre are some abrupt changes in this.
Bottles: Then in some of their radio shows Ossman would be talking from in the control room.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "It's like sitting in a big hand."
Cease: i guess that's the way taylor edited it.
Bottles: It's just really interesting to see them sitting at a table, silently laughing while reading the scripts.
Bottles: Or laughing at each others' improvising
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "This is Major Hit in the cockpit of the Enola McLuhan."
Beet: It is a really nice experiwnce watching them at work.
Cease: tis
Bottles: Tid.
Cease: listening to them drasticlaly re-wreite and re-edit their old albums is amazing
Rufus T Firetween: ** Read about FIRESIGN XM RADIO PERFORMANCES at >> http://firesigntheatrelegacy.com/xmradio/

||||||||| TwoPlacesAtOnce - dead from Covid 19
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Cease: by two
Bottles: I just downloaded the first 25 years of Mad Magazine. Eh - some is good, some is ecchh.
Cease: true of most things, bottles.
Cease: i have a few mads from the 60s. quite good
Bottles: True that.
Cease: i remember their TV Guise was so funny i thought i would die laughing.
Bottles: Late 50s and 60s were good.
Cease: when krassner worked for mad
Cease: have you read his autobi?
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Deputy Dan has no friends."
Cease: one of the funniest books i've ever read
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Surrounded by a thin thin thin 16mm shell. And inside, it's delicious!"
Bottles: Krassner's? No.
Bottles: I'll check it out at the library. Currently reading the new Bob Dylan book.
Rufus T Firetween: What's it called?
Cease: Confessions of a Raving, Uncongined Nut
Bottles: About pop music
Cease: check it out.
Rufus T Firetween: Ah, heard of it
Cease: read it.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "It goes in - it must come out."
Cease: i re-read it in a restaurant that was closing so everyone was very depressed. i had to interrupt their depression by reading passages of the krassner book to them. got them laughing
Bottles: What's the syndrome when someone laughs inapproptiately? Maybe they thought you had it.
Bottles: Oh, I misread what you said. Oops.
Bottles: I looked up Krassner's book, and found an interview of him discussing it with Spuds Terkel. I mean Studs Terkel
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Ha ha ha - that's very logical."
Cease: lol

Cease: so much intelligence interacting!
Bottles: Where did you see that, Cease?
Cease: someone sent me the video
Cease: i exchanged a lot of my stuff to other people for their stuff
Bottles: Cool.

||||||||| Catherwood says "Nonsense! My watch keeps perfect time! It's exactly 8:00 PM!"
llanwydd: lol
llanwydd: how does he do that? is he an algorithm or something?
