Elayne: Tween, were you in a nudist trailer park as well?
Cease: I have alot more respect for her aftrer seeing the flick Above Us Only Sky, a "a lot more" is relative
Elayne: I think that's where my ex-husband is now, although he's in Orange County.
Rufus_T_Firetween: lol Elayne, nope
Cease: This album is from 74, right?
Rufus_T_Firetween: I was staying with the son of the guy who built 'the london bridge' at Lake Havisu

llanwydd: this whole album reminds me of Coast to Coast AM
Beet: I was just thinking that.
Beet: George Norree forever!
llanwydd: I used to think it was Nori
llanwydd: its actually naury
||||||||| "9:26 PM? 9:26 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Whofonted should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Whofonted enters and sits on the couch.

llanwydd: cool, cat
Cease: at the same time, i'm listening to today's Maron podcast and he's talking about the history of people taking offence at comedy.

Beet: Good one.
Rufus_T_Firetween: I've always considered FST to be the 'Court Jesters of the USA'
llanwydd: FCoH was 1971?
Cease: probably earlier. the sumerians probably had their comedians.
llanwydd: and the sumerians must have been very very offensive
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Check out FIGHTING CLOWNS OF HOLLYWOOD at >> https://firesigntheatre.bandcamp.com/album/fighting-clowns-of-hollywood
Rufus_T_Firetween: about a decade off llan

llanwydd: I meant Fighting Clowns/Lawyers Hospital tour
Cease: I'd forgotten how much work
Cease: Schultz did for Ford. It's amazing he still had time to do his daily strip.
Cease: Those Falcon TV ads got him into the animation business, which later brought forth A Charlie Brown Christmas and all that came after
Cease: From 58 or 59, I was as much into Peanuts as I was into Firesign thereafter.
Beet: I just realized I was in D.C. during this and had no idea they were there. Wow.
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** “Fighting Clowns Of Hollywood: A Memoir” by David Ossman - http://www.bearmanormedia.com/fighting-clowns-of-hollywood-a-memoir-softcover-edition-by-david-ossman

Cease: A 14-part collage.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Cease: My voice sounds kinda used up.
Rufus_T_Firetween: I got really busy today and didn't get around to posting Cat's new collage, but will have it up by tomorrow evening
Cease: Exhausting
Rufus_T_Firetween: You've been a busy man ;)
Cease: Next collage will be about Richard Brautigan, a very Firesign-like writer but probsably not til December.
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Can't Get You Out of my Head: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13973190/
Cease: Yeah, I got the script for play off to Doc last weekend. Spent most of Octoberf working on that.
Cease: Now I spend all day copyiing Peanuts and 19th century Japese comics in prep for sale next week.
Cease: You'll be seeing some of those old comic books in a new Firesign video I should have done by the new year.
Cease: Have an idea for a vid mixing the comics with some music, and the Falcon ads with various Firesign car bits
llanwydd: jack poet?

llanwydd: lemon its a lemon
||||||||| Catherwood stops by and announces "While you bozos sit here in the Waiting Room, why not shop at the Firesale store?"
Cease: there is indeed. roller maidens, etc, etc, etc
Rufus_T_Firetween: I've thought it would be cool is there was an actual fan club, where people pay dues and get special mailings or whatever
llanwydd: thats the best track on GUAB
Cease: there have been firesign fan clubs in the past.
llanwydd: how much are you thinking for dues, tween?
Rufus_T_Firetween: I've no idea, depends on what we would be offering
Rufus_T_Firetween: Access to a web site with rare material? Discounts on new releases?
Cease: speaking of zen monasterys, i have to do a collage mixing Firesign with Gary Snyder.
Cease: Bergman got WAY inot Buddhism.
Cease: When he moved to Whidbey after his divorce, he lived in the home of the zen master he was raising money for on that Hour Hour show in 1970
Rufus_T_Firetween: Maybe a Reddit sort of conversation with the Firesigns? I don't know...
Rufus_T_Firetween: There are lots of Fireheads ou there who love all the ads for the chat we post, but nobody shows up. Maybe if it was simply more like a discussion group that people could join at will?
Rufus_T_Firetween: *out there
Cease: It would be hard to have Less chatters, Tween
Rufus_T_Firetween: We just haven't found the right medium for people to get involved.
Beet: frustrating
Cease: We don't have Not Ed here tongiht and he's a regular
Cease: Maybe if Chat could be an App?
Rufus_T_Firetween: Yes Cease, it's actuall worse that when JL was doing shows from a dial-up connection lol
llanwydd: whose voice is this, c?
Cease: Adam Curtis.
Rufus_T_Firetween: I'm open for suggestions
Cease: The whole collage serfies is based on his BBC series Cant get yhou out of my head
Cease: He has a bunch of these series. All great
llanwydd: I need to check out his stuff on youtube
Cease: you do indeed, llan
Cease: vrefy muchl like firesign, his theme is power, and how to subvert it.
llanwydd: gold is grass
llanwydd: lol
llanwydd: mussl yahctz
Cease: I found it difficult to process what had happened.
Cease: I was in shock when trump was elected.

Rufus_T_Firetween: I voted for Gary Johnson (Libertarian Party)
Beet: I can't imagine another 4 with Trump.
Cease: I was chatting with one of our former chatters that night and she had to keep reminding me to breathe
Cease: all watched over by machines of loving grace, a brautigan line.
Cease: firesign quoted that line in an Hour Hour episode
Cease: hey tween, was it on trhe sunday show or here, we talked about playing the rfo podcasts? That's A LOT of content
Rufus_T_Firetween: Indeed :)
Rufus_T_Firetween: A whole new treasure trove
Rufus_T_Firetween: and if only 4 of us show up for chat, so be it
Rufus_T_Firetween: there will always be the potential for archives
Cease: more than a hundred hours
Beet: Big fan of RFO.
Cease: i'll keed doing collages, but want to concentrate on vids for the next few monthes so there will be fewer audio things.
Rufus_T_Firetween: no big, there's lots of Firesign material to play
Rufus_T_Firetween: I can always go through the DOMM collection
Cease: hundreds of hours
Cease: domm is main source of my collage material
Cease: Discovered Graeber last year. One of my new heroes
Rufus_T_Firetween: Great series, Cat :)
