Cease: considering chat was started by a lady, Elayne
||||||||| Deputy Dang enters at 9:03 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and rushes off to the Chapeau Manger.
NancyKat: Nice wordplay, Cease!
DJTweeny: indeed
DJTweeny: although she does show up occasionally
NancyKat: Cease-Is She still around?
Cease: i do my best, Nancy.
Deputy Dang: I'm sorry I'm late. The Antelope Freeway kept slowing down as I went along.
Cease: sh'es on facebook every day, Nancy. you can friend her.
Cease: slow antelopes? not good.
||||||||| Bill Sprawl pokes his head in through the window and shouts "MARCHING TO SHIBBOLETH! Click to order!"
NancyKat: Dang, Deputy, that's ruff.
Cease: she posts daily pix of her cat.
NancyKat: Cease...cool!
Cease: i should start doing that too, but too lazy
||||||||| Bebop Lobo reminds all you hep cats to listen to Firesign’s NEW 24/7 RADIO STATION Click to listen anytime!"
Cease: Elayne and her then husband came to visit us in Vancouver in 1995 and we drove down to visit Ossman. That was the start of chat.
Beet: Hey Deputy
||||||||| Babe Boomer says “We’re Live On PBS!” in the video WEIRDLY COOL Catch Firesign’s Live TV Studio Performance On DVD!
||||||||| Catherwood escorts InTheWood into the room, accepts a grimy quarter as a gratuity, mutters something about 9:07 PM, then departs.
DJTweeny: Hi Woody
InTheWood: I'm just fine, Jim. You're looking swell.
Beet: Hi ITW

||||||||| princetin73 - dead from Globner's disease
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Cease: i enjoy making them, beet
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Can't Get You Out of my Head: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13973190/
Cease: i spend my days learning new things and combining them with Firesign
DJTweeny: a good occupation
Beet: Creating masterpiece after masterpiece.
DJTweeny: So how are things in NancyKat land?
DJTweeny: How's the kid?
Cease: well, if they're going to be preserved in the Library of Congress to be heard in the distant future, they better be pretty good.
DJTweeny: Hope that happens
DJTweeny: Certainly worthy of being included in their archives
NancyKat: The Kid...started 7th grade on Moonday...time has flown too fast...although we did get to actually enjoy the pool this summer, so that's cool. other than that, same ol' same ol'. How about you?
Beet: I still have it in the back of my mind that the treasure trove is located in Culpepper VA fairly driveable from where I am.
DJTweeny: Yes NancyKat, I remember the last time you talked about her she was 8 years old
DJTweeny: Middle School, wow
Cease: will she being actually going to school or by zoom?
DJTweeny: Doing fine here thanks, except that Houston has donated its humidity so it felt like 107 today
Cease: it rained here in van today. we needed it.
Beet: I used to deliver mail in that humidity.
DJTweeny: My 104 year old mother who met FST in Indiana when she was 102 died back in June, but she had a great life and was surrounded by friends in the days before her passing
Cease: amazing, tween
Beet: That is nice fo her.
Beet: for her
NancyKat: (internet went out, had to reload) They did the Zoom thing last year...they're back to "real" school this year...Maeven is having trouble adjusting to having to climb stairs again everyday...lol..it's a new school too.
DJTweeny: We should all be able to go that way
Beet: The best way.
DJTweeny: surrounded by friends
NancyKat: Tweeny...egads..we've been having some humidity problems too as of late, but we got AC so...inside for me! I'm sorry to hearabout your Mom, but 104 IS a very long life..wow...the things she must have seen. Meaven's Paternal Grandma died in January...mixed emotions because she didn't like me AT ALL...it didn't affect Maevies as much as i thought it would
InTheWood: ...help me into this parachute...
NancyKat: Maevies is 12 now, so I have to deal with a Chronological teen soon as well as a Behavioral teen soon. (She's had that attitude since she was 3.)
DJTweeny: Raising a teen (especially these days) is no doubt a challenge
Cease: My grand daughters are going to be 14 soon.
||||||||| Chick Lambert fades in and says: "I have no idea who this Friedstein Theatre is, but they 're honing in on my territory over at Duke of Madness Motors. Give 'em the what for, Storm!" "RUFF! RUFF!"
Deputy Dang: Bozos was my first exposure.
DJTweeny: Helluva world they're inheriting :/
NancyKat: Dang-It's My Mom's face Album-She's the one who introduced me. I love Dwarf.
InTheWood: I think they will know best what to do with it.
DJTweeny: Have you played FST for Meaven?
Cease: i agree, wood
DJTweeny: Hope you're right, Wood
Beet: My prayers are with young people of today.
Cease: read a very optimistic novel recently by kim stanley robinson.
InTheWood: It will turn out... like nothing we could possibly have imagined.
Cease: did i meniton that before?
NancyKat: Tweeny...yeah...I fear. Me and the BF try to "supplement" her learning with our specialties (Art/English and History/ Math respectively) but man...F commoncore...
Cease: the ministry for the future
DJTweeny: not that I recall Cease
||||||||| Catherwood enters and asks "Is there anythynge you want? By that I mean Anythynge You Want To, Shakespeare's Lost paperback Comedie in pre-electronic book form!"
llanwydd: run away from harm?
Cease: the more you show her that reading is something to do, the more normal actrivity it will be to her.
DJTweeny: A lot of people are turning to Home Schooling these days, especially with all the 'woke' cirriculum tring to make people feel guilty
Cease: my daughter was the only one of her friends who read books. this is a pre cell phone era
DJTweeny: *trying
DJTweeny: Yes Cease, turn off the 'smart phone' and the TV
Cease: i think cell reading has replaced book or other print reading for most
llanwydd: I highly approve of home schooling
Cease: hi llan
llanwydd: Hey Cat!
Cease: it heard the word power and it responded, just like we do
llanwydd: I have never let my cell phone become that important
llanwydd: I usually make calls on my landline
llanwydd: I take pictures occasionally
Cease: tis a tiny part of my life.
Deputy Dang: I've learned of too many abuses of homeschooling to approve of it in its current state.
NancyKat: As a bookworm, I prefer the feel of the heft of a book in my hands. I've tried to "facilitate" her weird sense of...things by buying her Dracula, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde and Frankenstein...plus a collection of Poe's works...
llanwydd: I have read all of those books
llanwydd: including the completeworksof poe
NancyKat: Highly agree; if I want a computer, i'll use one. If I need a phone, i'll get one. I don't need a Phone that can, in the words of Saint George Carlin, "....Can Jack me off and wipe my ass."
Deputy Dang: This is gonna be good!
DJTweeny: NancyKat: As a bookworm, I prefer the feel of the heft of a book in my hands. << Oh yeah, 'Kindle this...'
DJTweeny: lol NancyKat
llanwydd: nothing will replace the book
NancyKat: llan-Poe is one of my fave author/poets aside from Dickinson, Plath and Eliot to name a few.
llanwydd: I have read all of poe, nancy
InTheWood: Many of the kids today are rediscovering typewriters. This is significant, in some way.
NancyKat: Tweeny...lol, fangs.
DJTweeny: How about some Jules Verne or other sci-fi, NancyKat?
llanwydd: my favorite of his stories is one of his most obscure, The Narrative of A. Gordon Pym
DJTweeny: never heard of it
llanwydd: almost a short novel
llanwydd: my favorite jules verne would be JthCotE
NancyKat: Tweeny, as much as I love sci-fi (ST, SW, Blakes 7 and Red Dwarf) I never got into the book versions as much as I got into Horror and Fantasy. Love Pratchett and the Myth and Xanth series.
DJTweeny: Alan Parsons made EA Poe famous of course with the album Tales Of Mystery And Imagination
Cease: i do like that last bit
llanwydd: very good album tween
Cease: but the whole thing sounds very hissy.needs more processing.
Cease: did you watch babylon 5, nancy?
||||||||| Captain Equinox flies in through the transom, landing on the bearskin rug. "Attention, solstice squad! After working a 12-hour day, I like to kick back and swill some juice out of a genuine Firesign coffee mug or Bear Whiz Beer stein!"
NancyKat: Cease-YES! Ivanova is best girl.
Cease: some of mly fave episodes of tv ever
Beet: I need to explore more sci fi myself.
||||||||| Catherwood tosses another cheese log on the fire and intones, "If you want to keep the cornstarch off your mukluks this season, buy a hoodie or a sweatshirt at the Firesign corner Cafepress store."
NancyKat: Kosh's reveal was one of the best twists ever.
Cease: the day of the dead one of the best tv shows i've ever seen.
Cease: yeah beet. you might startr with my lplay red shift
Beet: OK
NancyKat: Maeven's dad and I are big fans and thus it's become a "thing" to tell Maeven "Don't give up the Homeworld." as she leaves for school.
NancyKat: Cease-i've read a bit of the Graphic Novels, so the tv kinda disappoints me. Not as much as the end of GOT, but hey....
Beet: Such a big buildup to disappointment.
llanwydd: the only graphic sci fi I know is that magazine, heavy metal that came out in the 80s
InTheWood: television _is_ religion, man...
Cease: warched ist season of got from llibrary dvd and didnt like it. watched no more
llanwydd: I used to buy that agazine
Cease: my fave flikcks are animie: paprika, millenium actress and tokyo godfathers
NancyKat: My BFF has read all the books, so we watchedthe first season together...but I kinda petered out after that, but I was curious as to how they were going to tie off all the storylines...
Cease: nuimber 4 would be southpark, so 5 out of 5.
Beet: Ever get into Cowboy Bebop?
llanwydd: not familiar with those, cat
DJTweeny: NancyKat: Maeven's dad and I are big fans and thus it's become a "thing" to tell Maeven "Don't give up the Homeworld." << A Yes song from the album The Ladder, and also the theme to the video game of the same name and
Deputy Dang: Ah... Hooterville...
NancyKat: OMG Bebop is SOOOO good. As is Hellsing Ultimate, Trigun and (what i've seen of) Samurai Champloo...as well as the classics like Akira and GITS.
DJTweeny: *and Russian Igor Khorochev on keyboards
llanwydd: one of the classic yes songs of their late period
InTheWood: Anybody here a fan of The Prisoner?

NancyKat: I've never seen it, InTheWood, but am a Man from Uncle fan...Dominick Noble of Lost in Adaptation did a short review series of Prisoner.
llanwydd: great collage cat!
DJTweeny: I was suprised to learn recently that Get Smart was a Mel Brooks production
llanwydd: never knew that tween?
DJTweeny: but considering the sort of comedy, it makes sense
InTheWood: Very timely collage.
llanwydd: him and buck henry
NancyKat: Beet-many of those are sci-fi but Samurai Champloo is kinda a "hiphop" take on edo era Japan. Kinda like Afro Samurai.
llanwydd: wrote get smart

NancyKat: Dang, Wait, me what? I huh!? Oh, I must clarify, if this is referencing something from the audio, i'm on a potato that doesn't allow the program to run.

Not Ed: wow
