||||||||| Catherwood leads Beet inside, makes a note of the time (9:01 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Beet: Hello, Dear Friends!
Cat: Wish there were more of us, Ken
Not Ed: Jello Beet
DJTweeny: allo Beet
Beet: Howdy, Dr Tween
||||||||| Catherwood enters with johan amadeus myjetski close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 9:02 PM tree-stunting plans, and scurries off to the sitting room.
Cat: 11AM seems a strange hour to be listening to Firesign Theatre
DJTweeny: Hey Johan
Not Ed: Yo JAM
Beet: Hey, JAM
Cat: Beet-nik
DJTweeny: indeed
Not Ed: KBOO yay
Beet: Hi, Dr Cat
Zen Cosmos: I have to get used to the tyope in protocol- not easy enough, need a better clickable process on VLC player
Ken Jones: Just figured out the audio. And just in time :)
Beet: Hi Not
Cat: Wow, they're pouring in tonight.
Not Ed: x-ellent
||||||||| Ralph Spoilsport drives in through the door and says "Buy a new or used T-shirt from the Firesign Theatre Cafepress store! Hurry before this sentence ends!"
DJTweeny: kewl
Cat: Ken is now in 2 places at once.
Zen Cosmos: I found it
Ken Jones: Thanks, Not Ed, for the KBOO shout out!
Not Ed: U betcha!
Cat: Were you at Bergman's Big Brouhaha in Kirkland, Ken?
Not Ed: B3
johan amadeus myjetski: what's the secret handshake for the audio?
DJTweeny: can't get the feed Johan?
Ken Jones: I never saw the guys in Kirkland, Cat. But used to work at Microsoft there for many years.
Not Ed: o the ironing
Cat: It was the memorial for Pete. Full of KBOO folks
johan amadeus myjetski: no. keeps asking me if i'd like to save the m3u in downloads
Not Ed: I lived in Kirkland then & got 2 go
llanwydd: which Cat are you, Cat? the familiar cease or a new Cat?
Zen Cosmos: More of a KAOS FM peep myself...
Cat: I'm usually Cease but using my actual name in honour of visitor Ken
Not Ed: dang JAM
llanwydd: cool!
Cat: We have been corresponding recently
Not Ed: catherwood give johan a hand
||||||||| Catherwood gets johan a hand.
Ken Jones: I wasn't at KBOO at that time, but my wife and I did see the Firesigns perform in Portland, one of their last live shows as a full group. Peter passed away a few months later.
Not Ed: Who am us anyway?
llanwydd: we are one of me
Zen Cosmos: My last concert was Bagley Wright in Seattle in 96
Ken Jones: Yes, KAOS is a great station, out of Evergreen.
johan amadeus myjetski: okay got it now. it's a bit different in brave
Cat: That Portland show was part of their final tour, which ended up (or started?) on Whidbey Island.
Not Ed: Ah good JAM (yay)
llanwydd: I saw FST only once. Town Hall in NYC in 1981.
Zen Cosmos: Keep Portland Weird!
Cat: They did 3 shows there, 2 regular shows and a Q&A at a children's theatre.
Ken Jones: I do know that their last radio performance, before Peter's passing, was at KBOO. They took over the station from 10pm to midnight, right after one of the stage shows.
Cat: Yes, the Speaking Over Each Other show.
Zen Cosmos: Dave recently did a Horror radio drama on halloween here in Seattle
Cat: Dave and Phil remain quite busy
Ken Jones: Just checked the KBOO site, and that last Firesign on-air show is available on-demand: https://kboo.fm/media/13268-firesign-theater-kboo-talking-over-each-other-iii
Not Ed: interesting Zen
Not Ed: Taylor rules to say the least and he sure is a mean guy
Cat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y7FjypYcnI
Cat: That's the Q and A
Not Ed: lol Taylor is super sweet
Ken Jones: Zen is right! What's the sound of one finger typing?
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Read about Ken Jones's KBOO INTERVIEW WITH DAVID OSSMAN at >> https://kboo.fm/program/mr-joness-neighborhood
Ken Jones: Taylor does an amazing job! The Dope Humor of the Seventies release, most recently, and the George Tirebiter Collection.
Zen Cosmos: the sound is tap.........tap........tap....ad infinitum...
Cat: Firesign is lucky to have him.
Not Ed: what does he do at Disney?
Zen Cosmos: gearing up to buy the Dope album just have to have disposable income in a future month...
Beet: My nephew works at Disney also.
Ken Jones: I'm curious when you all started listening to the Firesigns. For me, it was as a high school student in L.A. Made it easy to get all the references, like Ralph Spoilsport.
Cat: Me too, Ken.
Cat: My high school was on Sepulveda, which they hilariously misprounce
Beet: I started in the Colorado Rockies in the summer of 1970.
Not Ed: I was in 6th grade. Dad & a cousin picked up copies of Electrician.
Ken Jones: Yes, but they got Pico and Alvarado right.
||||||||| Mark Time invites you to watch and listen to Firesign’s XM Radio Performances Watch The Firesign Theatre In Action!
Not Ed: Minnesota.
Cat: My dad was a competitor of Ralph. Another Valley Ford dealership
||||||||| A time machine materializes at 9:17 PM and Merlyn waltzes out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** NEW FIRESIGN ALBUM!! ** - DOPE HUMOR OF THE SEVENTIES >> https://standuprecords.com/products/the-firesign-theatre-dope-humor-of-the-seventies-double-vinyl
Not Ed: 1969-70ish
Cat: Hey Merl
DJTweeny: Hey Merlyn
Beet: Hi, Mr Merl
Not Ed: Jello Merl
Not Ed: Ruf on Right
Ken Jones: Cat, did your dad do TV commercials? Ralph pretty much monopolized the L.A. airwaves.
Not Ed: I love radio people
Cat: Yes. His dealership was called Wray Bros Ford.
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Read about Ken Jones's KBOO INTERVIEW WITH DAVID OSSMAN at >> https://kboo.fm/program/mr-joness-neighborhood
Ken Jones: Not Ed, I love radio, too! Podcasts are keeping the audio artform alive now, but there's nothing like the spontaneity of radio.
Cat: True, Ken.
Zen Cosmos: here'a weekly plug for ZBS.org, they recently offered reel-to-reel of The Fourth Tower of Inverness at auction
Not Ed: great interview
Ken Jones: I'd love to listen to The Fourth Tower of Inverness again. That was first-class radio theater!
Zen Cosmos: Ken they offer it on USB flash drives noe at zbs.org
||||||||| Bebop Lobo reminds all you hep cats to listen to Firesign’s NEW 24/7 RADIO STATION Click to listen anytime!"
Ken Jones: I had the Fourth Tower poster at one time, when I was doing college radio. And purloining the swag :)
Ken Jones: Thanks, Zen! I'll check out the website.
Zen Cosmos: the ZBS CD covers can be downloaded now at meme images from the website
Not Ed: Noted Zen
Ken Jones: So good to see ZBS still around, going on 50 years now!
Cat: I first saw Firesign with Lightning Hopkins and Taj Mahal at the Ash Grove, New Year's Eve, 69
llanwydd: cool
Zen Cosmos: Ruby the galactic Gumshoe will soon have new adventure offered plus episiode10(?)
Ken Jones: What an incredible show, Cat!
Cat: this was the Firesign that i first heard. The Mushroom shows.
Cat: I wonder if that show was recorded?
Cat: I know a lot of the Ashgrove shows were.
Ken Jones: I remember listening the Dear Friends and Let's Eat on KPFK, and the Credibility Gap on KRLA, I think. They did about a 10 minute daily segment on a big AM rock station, during their afternoon news segment.
Not Ed: Zen it all came back to me like the hot kiss etc.
Not Ed: Such a fan
Cat: The Gap were great. Harry Shearer still is.
Not Ed: Ruby
Ken Jones: Harry Shearer, Michael McKean (most recently of Better Call Saul), and the late David L. Landers.
Cat: They did a final version of Exorcism on Pete's RFO podcast.
Cat: I have a wonderful Gap piece where they are the 3 stooges working for the phone company.
Cat: One of the funniest things I've ever heard.
johan amadeus myjetski: did FST ever play in the deep south?
Ken Jones: They also did a very funny and smart Who's On First bit, about rock groups instead of ball players.
Cat: It's part of a collage about Austin and the Dead:
llanwydd: I have heard that one, Ken
Cat: Grateful Firesign - My 2nd Austin bio, this was inspired by an interview Phil did on WBAI about writing a screen play for the Grateful Dead. I combined it with Jack Kerouac's story, Visions of Neal and the 3 Stooges, considering how close Neal Cassady was to the Dead. Also featured, the Credibility Gap's portrayal of the 3 Stooges during a phone strike in LA in the early 70s. Various Beat generation folks make their appearances, and Bergman tells of losing a girl friend to Neal Cassady.
llanwydd: the who, the guess who and yes
llanwydd: hilarious
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Listen/Download Cat’s collage “GRATEFUL FIRESIGN” at >> http://kurtericson.com/cat/#FIRESIGN_AUDIO_BIOS
Ken Jones: Would love to read that Austin bio, Cat. I didn't know about the Dead screenplay.
Rufus_T_Firetween: I can imagine those band names being used like that
Cat: you listen to it, not read, Ken.
Ken Jones: The Burns and Allen tribute with Proctor, Ossman, and Melinda plays today. I think on youtube.
Ken Jones: I'd much rather listen, than read!
Rufus_T_Firetween: That sounds like fun, Ken
Rufus_T_Firetween: love B&A
Cat: good to know, Ken. I'll look for it.
Rufus_T_Firetween: they had parts in the W.C. Fields movie International House
llanwydd: great movie. lots of stars in that
Rufus_T_Firetween: yeah
||||||||| "9:34 PM? I'm late!" exclaims Deputy Dang, who then runs out through the french doors and down through the flowerbeds.
||||||||| Catherwood ushers dirk farmer in through the front door at 9:35 PM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
Beet: I just found the Burns and Allen tribute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEHMzTEfO-Y

johan amadeus myjetski: BRB
Ken Jones: Thanks, Beet!!
Ken Jones: I've watched a few Burns & Allen TV shows on late-night cable. George broke the fourth wall, which seems like a big jump for a 50s sitcom.
Beet: Hi Deputy
Not Ed: hey dirk (listening to interview)
Cat: Fish did a wonderful job on my Ossman Project which is also in the archive
Cat: He's supposed to be the voice of the Egyptian Revolution in my new play.

Cat: I've always called it The Ossman Project.
Rufus_T_Firetween: OK, that's in the Audio Bios section as well
Cat: yes
Merlyn: Just a heads-up, the private messages are acting really strange tonight...
||||||||| Ralph Spoilsport drives in through the door and says "Buy a new or used T-shirt from the Firesign Theatre Cafepress store! Hurry before this sentence ends!"
llanwydd: yes they are, merl
llanwydd: lol

Not Ed: tanx for it
Ken Jones: Thanks, Cat! As you know, you just have to say hello to David, or Phil for that matter, and get out of the way :)
Rufus_T_Firetween: Yes indeed, thanks Ken
Cat: very true, Ken
Not Ed: Engrossing interview. I like your style sir.
Cat: Tween has interviewed them here several times and Austin used to be a regular on chat.

Ken Jones: That's a great radio voice! Who does the announcing?
||||||||| Mayor P'nisnose strides up to the podium and speaks: "My fellow Armenians, if you have questions about exorcism, buy the new book "EXORCISM IN YOUR DAILY LIFE", now on sale. Incidentally, so is my vote."
Cat: I like Jason Klamm's interviews with Proc and Taylor but Jason knows almost nothing about Firesign.
