Beet: I have really been enjoying these cassettes.
Cease: Too bad they're not bette known
||| ||| ||| "9:03 PM? 9:03 PM!!" says Catherwood, " Rotonoto should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Rotonoto enters and sits on the divan.
Beet: My sebtiments exactly.
||| ||| ||| Babe Boomer says “We’re Live On PBS!” in the video WEIRDLY COOL Catch Firesign’s Live TV Studio Performance On DVD!
Beet: sentiments
Rotonoto: tap, tap, tap- is this think on?
Rotonoto: thing
Beet: Howdy Roto
Cease: HI Roto.
Rotonoto: hi beet, cease
Rotonoto: apparently my microphone is on
Rotonoto: my landlord is wired and he's transmitting...
Cease: Major restrictions in BC this evening.
DJTweeny: Hi Roto
Rotonoto: hey tweeny
Rufus_T_Firetween: Cease: Major restrictions in BC this evening << They're talking about a lockdown in L.A. too
Rotonoto: hey, I got streaming audio this week
Rufus_T_Firetween: Lots of places, actually
Rufus_T_Firetween: btw, for all of you who have my smpteguy address, it's dead
Cease: Many American cities have more people than BC. Seattle for example
Beet: It's tightening up here too.
Rufus_T_Firetween: use TXR instead
Cease: LA is vast
Cease: Just talked to my cousin in LA a few days ago. She said everyone is wearing masks there. A good sign
||| ||| ||| Bebop Lobo reminds all you hep cats to listen to Firesign’s NEW 24/7 RADIO STATION Click to listen anytime!"
Beet: I have actually been to Des Moines 2 or 3 times.
Rotonoto: fill...
Rufus_T_Firetween: L.A. = Los Angeles
Rufus_T_Firetween: LA - Louisiana :)
Cease: Cal.
Cease: Population 19 million.
Rufus_T_Firetween: There are more people in Tokyo than in all of Canada (or so I've read)
Rufus_T_Firetween: that may no longer be the case
Cease: And one of them is Phil Proctr
Beet: Tokyo was way ahead of everyone with the mask wearing. They were doing it long before the virus hit.
||| ||| ||| Catherwood tosses another cheese log on the fire and intones, "If you want to keep the cornstarch off your mukluks this season, buy a hoodie or a sweatshirt at the Firesign corner Cafepress store."
Cease: Yes, 39 million in Tokyo where I lived for many years, 34 million here.
||| ||| ||| llanwydd waltzes in at 9:14 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
llanwydd: good evening dear friends
DJTweeny: Yo llan
Beet: Howdy Llan.
Cease: hey llan!
Rotonoto: llo, Llan...
||| ||| ||| "9:15 PM? 9:15 PM!!" says Catherwood, " some random Zip should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as some random Zip enters and sits on the divan.
Beet: Hi Zip.
Cease: Hey Zip
llanwydd: what was the overture tonight, tween ?
some random Zip: Hello Dear Friends!
llanwydd: hi Zip
some random Zip: "surprising Reagan Victory at the polls"... some 1980 stuff?
llanwydd: this is cool. we never had somebody show up named beaner or bozo.
Cease: This is the most "obscene" thing they ever recorded.
Cease: yes, the last show they did for NPR. they were so pissed off at reagan's win that they couldn't stop swearing.
DJTweeny: Hi Zip
some random Zip: I'm a member of the Benevolent Order
||| ||| ||| Babe Boomer says “We’re Live On PBS!” in the video WEIRDLY COOL Catch Firesign’s Live TV Studio Performance On DVD!
Cease: It took me a long time to cut all the "fucks" out of it for broadcast here today
llanwydd: lol srZ
DJTweeny: llan - Mike & The Mechanics
llanwydd: I liked those guys
||| ||| ||| Catherwood enters and asks "Is there anythynge you want? By that I mean Anythynge You Want To , Shakespeare's Lost paperback Comedie in pre-electronic book form!"
some random Zip: who the f' cares. sounds smooth
DJTweeny: (Rutherford of Genesis doing pop music)
Cease: two in the last sentence
llanwydd: but I was a big genesis fan
Cease: thanks, zip.
some random Zip: Mike and the Mechanics did not do it for me but it was not terrible
DJTweeny: Big Genesis fan here too
some random Zip: Genesis was one of my very first live shows... the "mama" tour if you wanna call the self titled album that...
llanwydd: my favorite band since 1974 has been Yes. sometimes Genesis comes in second on my list. sometimes jethro tull
DJTweeny: Definitely not Genesis, but some good pop tunes
DJTweeny: I saw Genesis touring the And Then There Were Three tour with Chester Thompson helping out on drums
some random Zip: I like Yes better because they continued to be excellent in their own way and Genesis lost me with and after the "invisible touch" and "we don't dance" things. Su-Su-Sudio was a bad sign.. an omen
llanwydd: lucky dog
DJTweeny: also a big Yes fan here
DJTweeny: liked them since The Yes Album
Rotonoto: 53 terrible films, some of them were great...
||| ||| ||| Bebop Lobo reminds all you hep cats to listen to Firesign’s NEW 24/7 RADIO STATION Click to listen anytime!"
llanwydd: I have seen yes live 4 times
||| ||| ||| Catherwood stops by and announces "While you bozos sit here in the Waiting Room, why not shop at the Firesale store ?"
Rotonoto: vote yes on Yes
llanwydd: funny, twiin. it was the yes album that got me hooked
some random Zip: wonder why fans of a comedy group which put out fantastic full albums would appreciate music with long songs from a similar era
DJTweeny: They made a couple of albums after Gabriel that stayed true to the prog rock theme, Trick Of The Tail and Wund & Wuthering
Cease: Firesign made 53 flicks, roto?
||| ||| ||| Chick Lambert fades in and says: "I have no idea who this Friedstein Theatre is, but they 're honing in on my territory over at Duke of Madness Motors . Give 'em the what for, Storm!" "RUFF! RUFF!"
llanwydd: I liked liked Duke as well
DJTweeny: but And Then There Were Three after Hackett left was the transition to pop
some random Zip: I like everything through Abacab still from G and lost track of Yes's new material around Big Generator though I did see Yes several times later than that..
DJTweeny: *Wind
some random Zip: Hackett still tours to the extent that anyone can play at all these days
Beet: I really liked Yes. I would have liked to have seen them live.
llanwydd: I loved attwt as well. this takes me back to the 70s
llanwydd: I saw yes three times at madison square Garden once in the middle of the street in Orlando.
Rufus_T_Firetween: Hackett's made some good solo albums
||| ||| ||| Captain Equinox flies in through the transom, landing on the bearskin rug. "Attention, solstice squad! After working a 12-hour day, I like to kick back and swill some juice out of a genuine Firesign coffee mug or Bear Whiz Beer stein !"
llanwydd: I liked Defector
some random Zip: Chester Thompson, the mirror image drummer to the left-handed Phil Collins for live shows, played with F Zappa in the 1974 band I think it was. After Ralph Humphries and before Bozzio
llanwydd: Please Dont Touch is a very good album as well
some random Zip: Who'se is Please Don't Touch? Hackett?
Rufus_T_Firetween: Right I thought I remembered Thompson playing for Zappa
llanwydd: yeah, that is hackett, srZ
||| ||| ||| Catherwood tosses another cheese log on the fire and intones, "If you want to keep the cornstarch off your mukluks this season, buy a hoodie or a sweatshirt at the Firesign corner Cafepress store."
some random Zip: yeah that Helsinki purple box disc from You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore is Chester. That's the band with George Duke on keys, and Ruth Underwood ... etc
some random Zip: I must be in Sector N, I can't see any Bear Whiz Beer Steins in the shop, only as a section header, it's only coffee cups!?
llanwydd: I knew the fst was on npr in the early 90s but I did not know they were on npr in 1980
llanwydd: I would have listened to that if I had known about it
Cease: maybe earlier
Cease: ossie had an npr show in the early 80s from DC
Rufus_T_Firetween: These bits for NPR were around of the time of the Fighting Clowns album
Rufus_T_Firetween: Hey Reagan is a great tune
Rufus_T_Firetween: sounds like Mothers Of Invention to me
some random Zip: (Reagan REAGAN REAAAAGGAAN)
llanwydd: I remember from the notes on Shoes For Industry that david had worked ofr npr
some random Zip: I love fighting clowns. The hot tub scenes are great. With that guitar from Skunk Baxter...
llanwydd: for
Rufus_T_Firetween: Yeah, Baxter from The Doobies on the album
llanwydd: I caught the fighting clowns/lawyers hospital tour
Cease: i suspect they did something for npr in the 70s. taylor would know
llanwydd: 1981
some random Zip: JIMMY CARTER, he's our president!
llanwydd: I liked carter
Rufus_T_Firetween: Fighting Clowns liner notes - http://www.firesigntheatrelegacy.com/media/media.php?item=fc-ln
some random Zip: Baxter was also an ace in Steely Dan and now he advises the Dept of Defense as a missile expert I think it is
Rufus_T_Firetween: That was a 45 that was not originally part of the album Zip
Cease: i heard skunk on a cbc interview show in the 90s. he told a great story about gorbachev
some random Zip: I have the Mobile Fidelity CD of Fighting Clowns so it's got Jimmy Carter as a bonus track... "Amy Carter, First Lady president!"
Cease: he wanted to talk to gorby about missile but gorby only wanted to talk to his solo on My Old School
Rufus_T_Firetween: Yeah, it's on the CD
Rufus_T_Firetween: not the original LP
Rufus_T_Firetween: haha Cease
Cease: about his solo
Rufus_T_Firetween: great
some random Zip: so this cast is all shits and does not give a f?
Rufus_T_Firetween: Din't know he was on that song
some random Zip: that's great about Gorby being a Dan Fan.
Cease: yep. i suspect they were fired from npr B4 this episode. it was obvoiusly never aired
Cease: i just cut out the fucks.
Cease: tweeny tells me the f*cc would not approve.
some random Zip: Did you put them all in one place? I'm kidding, I can hear that you left the F part in place, but there's that one edit of Big Lebowski that's only Fucks...
some random Zip: F the CC. they don't rule the internet... but is this broadcast on air some place? I am surpassed cause I have not heard a station ID ?!
some random Zip: I am also surprised.
Rufus_T_Firetween: Thanks Cease
Cease: therre's a podcast called Comedy on Vinyl that has had Proctor and Taylor on at least 5 times.
some random Zip: are we on the air? NO NO NO NO "it's over"
Rufus_T_Firetween: It's just a little internet radio station, but we do our best not to get on the wrong side of the FCC
Cease: anyway, to get one of those shows on This show, I had to eliminate the fucks.
some random Zip: hahahaha is this on the DVD in Duke Of Madness Motors?
Cease: podcasts have different rules
Rufus_T_Firetween: you just missed one ;)
Rufus_T_Firetween: np
Cease: it's not on anything, zip.
some random Zip: Oh there's a cast some place. I am just on the link here for the 128
Cease: you are listening to one of the only places it exists.
Cease: i figtued that was too far inthe background, tween .
some random Zip: Wow! cool! Is this source from the vaults or a private collection?
Rufus_T_Firetween: yeah, wasn't obvious :)
Cease: my collecttion of firesign is vast. since 1967
Rufus_T_Firetween: It's not publicly available
Rufus_T_Firetween: maybe from their new Download Store one of these days
some random Zip: I'd probably buy this off band camp!

Rotonoto: yep
Cease: one of the founders of this chat, with his partner Lili
Cease: Just heard from him today. He and Lily are in the hospital with Covid
Rotonoto: hope they are recovering
Rotonoto: they were stupidly killing a lot of those patients early on
Cease: hope so too
Rotonoto: hospitals were beyond incompetant
Cease: they are my age and even less healthy, which isn't good
Rotonoto: borderline criminal
||| ||| ||| Catherwood tosses another cheese log on the fire and intones, "If you want to keep the cornstarch off your mukluks this season, buy a hoodie or a sweatshirt at the Firesign corner Cafepress store."
Cease: they are in connecticut so the hospitals should be good.
Rotonoto: luckily I am still fairly healthy
Rotonoto: thank goodness for that way better than NYC
Cease: my wife and i live 4 blocks from the hospital so that's good
Cease: but after a long lull, vancouver is now being hit hard.
Rotonoto: are you supplementing Vit. D?
Cease: where are you?
Rotonoto: MD north of DC
Cease: my doc told me to take vitamin day whenever there's no sun. in north van, that's often
Rotonoto: do you recall how many IU of Vit D per day?

Cease: no its more casual.
Rotonoto: lots of extended suburbs and a little remaining country
Cease: my doc recommenbded covid so i take one of those.
Rotonoto: I must emphasize, dear friend...
Rotonoto: it is very important you be taking Vit. D regularly
Rotonoto: it makes a crucial difference in
Rotonoto: survivability if you contract Covid
Rotonoto: this is an absolute fact, not opinion
Rotonoto: and the data worldwide clearly support it
Rotonoto: please consider trying to remember to take it more regularly cat
Cease: will do
Cease: and zinc too
Rotonoto: good
Cease: i take caltrate.
Rotonoto: not familiar- is that a calcium supplement?
Cease: vitamin d supplement my doc recomended

Cease: i would walk almost daily a mile or so to my local stores but today's regulations say dont' leave your house unless you really have to
Rotonoto: enough lately
Rotonoto: not quite as strict here, they are trying real hard not to *mandate*
Rotonoto: but leaning heavily on everyone
Rotonoto: to get with it
Rotonoto: mandatory masks inside buildings etc.
Cease: that's the law as of today
Rotonoto: clearly they are leaning harder on folks in BC
Cease: we went from 5-6 covid cases a day recently to 6-700 a day now.
Rotonoto: cases are BS!
Rotonoto: based on a very unreliable PCR test
Rotonoto: what matters is death rate
Cease: canada was complacent, ha ha we're so much better than the yankees, and now we're paying the price
Rotonoto: not cases rate
Rotonoto: it's fraud basically
Rotonoto: designed to scare everyione

Rotonoto: as if we are not already thoroughly beated down!
Rotonoto: beaten

Rotonoto: and they abuse and misuse it
Rotonoto: test becomes much less reliable bayonf
Rotonoto: about 17 cycl;es
Rotonoto: CDC adcvvises continue through 40+ cycles
Rotonoto: beaucoup false positives
Rotonoto: designed to scare everyone
Rotonoto: PCR test, as used is total BS
Cease: i still go shopping, and i'm now going to go and enjoy the result of my shoppping, dinner.

||| ||| ||| "Hey Cease !" ... Cease turns, and sees Bradshaw approching with the handcuffs, and is dragged away, screaming "it's only 11:24 PM, I don't have to go yet!" ...
Rotonoto: byenot the first time I have collided with brick wall
Rotonoto: I am getting used to it
Rotonoto: Your doc is right about the vitamin D, cat. Be well, friend! Nite all...
||| ||| ||| At 11:35 PM, Rotonoto scurries out the door saying "Hey, mister ice-cream man, I've got a nickel, wait for me ee ee... "
||| ||| ||| Catherwood escorts Me into the room, accepts a grimy quarter as a gratuity, mumbles something about 1:38 PM, then departs.
||| ||| ||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and HawkMoth disembarks at 7:31 PM.
||| ||| ||| Catherwood ushers RedPillTweeny in through the front door at 2:11 AM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
