Elayne: Evenin' all@
Beet: Hi Elayne
Not Ed: here's the fabulous E
Not Ed: jello
Beet: The signal is exceptionally clear tonight, Tween.
Elayne: Not seeing keyboard very well. Quite a busy workday. Week after next we're all off for a week, our Summer Shutdown. Can't wait!
Rufus_T_Firetween: Hey E
Beet: Hanging out in the homeplace, Elayne/
Beet: ?
Rufus_T_Firetween: Beet: The signal is exceptionally clear tonight, Tween << my net's been horrible, but seems to clear up later in the day (fingers crossed for the shows)
Rufus_T_Firetween: I hope everybody has their virtual masks on
Rufus_T_Firetween: The Gov Of Cal is requiring all citizens to wear masks
Elayne: Where else, Beet?
Cease: Hi El
Beet: Since I am flying solo here in my room, I am cruising sans mask. Please forgive me.
Elayne: I'm lucky that I've been able to work at home for some time. I stayed here occasinoally w my work laptop prior to the pandemic so I had everything all set up.
Rufus_T_Firetween: Do you use Zoom?
Cease: good for you, el
Elayne: No masks at home here either. Keeping six feet away from my downstairs neighbors and their downstairs neighbors.
Cease: pretty good here in north van
Elayne: Ugh, Zoom was the bane of my existence today. One of the partners I support has to use it for quarterly meetings with one of his clients because that's all they use.
Elayne: So he finally got signed in and got an account, and I was able to start scheduling Zoom calls.
Beet: I have heard of people taking tentative excursions out, like, to buy a sandwich or something. Just for the thrill.
Elayne: He has a personal ID but you have to set it to the randomized radio button which generates a different password (and ID) each time.
Elayne: Pain in the butt. One of the reasons I'm so tired at the moment.
Elayne: I prefer Skype but we're migrating to MS Teams so I'm trying to get used to that.
Cease: do you find yourself more tired as you grow olde, el?
Elayne: Beet, I get enough of a "thrill" doing my grocery shopping, and I have no desire to venture out among the tree pollen and high teps.
Elayne: ...temps
Elayne: Never thought about it, Cat. I've always liked sleeping and lounging about.
Cease: it is unlikely we will ever meet again.alas
Beet: I am enjoying my air conditioning myself.
Cease: i'm just too old to go to nyc
Elayne: I'm not one of those folks who likes to go out much anyway, so except for not commuting to and from work not that much has changed in my life.
Elayne: When all this is over I'd like to visit the Pacific Northwest again, Cat, so who knows?
Elayne: But I'm not keen on going near any airports for a long while.
Beet: Can't get into any stores without a mask.
Rufus_T_Firetween: Walmart lets me use my motorcycle helmet with a full face visor
Rufus_T_Firetween: but without it, I wear a mask

Rufus_T_Firetween: Texas isn't making it a requirement
Cease: i hope to see you again,el
Beet: Also much safer if you fall down
Rufus_T_Firetween: No way I'm going near 'public transportation' anytime soon
Rufus_T_Firetween: haha Beet
Beet: They say the subways are running in NYC again. A little scary.
Rufus_T_Firetween: I've just got a little 50cc scooter that only does 30-40mph, but I'm not riding it w/o a brain bucket
Cease: i think it is unlilkelyl i wil ever go back to nyc but if you come here, el, i would be elated
Elayne: Not going anywhere any time soon, Cat. But we should actually thnik about doing a video Firesign chat.
Elayne: Facebook has Messenger Groups, should be pretty easy to set one up.
Beet: That would be totally cool.
Rufus_T_Firetween: hmmmmmmmm, The Firesigns doing a Zoom or FB show?
Cease: maybve the best thing that has happened to me this year is that ossman said the project we made is going into the library of congress

Rufus_T_Firetween: Beet: I knew immortality was possible << esp if you go to Ralph Spoilsport's New And Used Body Parts
Rufus_T_Firetween: that's nice, Cease :)
Beet: A frightening thought: I feel like I'm normalizig to the weirdness of this virus thing.
Cease: that is frighening beet
Rufus_T_Firetween: Humans adapt. It's one of their strengths
Beet: I need directions to Ralph's.
Rufus_T_Firetween: as long as you aren't adapting to the USSR ;)

Rufus_T_Firetween: dunno
