Cease: we've had quite a few new people recently.
DJTweeny: Always good to see new folks here
||||||||| Chick Lambert fades in and says: "I have no idea who this Friedstein Theatre is, but they 're honing in on my territory over at Duke of Madness Motors. Give 'em the what for, Storm!" "RUFF! RUFF!"

DJTweeny: Happy Birthday Paul Krassner, wherever you are
DJTweeny: People 'like' my shows ads on FB, but apparently don't like it enought o show up in chat
DJTweeny: *to
Cease: I've noticed that, Tween
llanwydd: you got a fb page for the roadkill show?
DJTweeny: No, I need to make one
DJTweeny: just the archive site: www.kurtericson.com/txroadkill/roadkillshow
Cease: Maybe we should listen to a different DOMM show every week.
DJTweeny: As many as there are, we could do that
Cease: Post Pete, his RFO podcast did that.
DJTweeny: at least intersperse them with the albums
Cease: Yes
Cease: The Ossman Project should be ready for next Thursday. It's about an hour long.
DJTweeny: kewl
llanwydd: I hope we get a bigger turnout for it than this
Cease: Indeed, llan.
Cease: That was Anna Lee
||||||||| "9:27 PM? 9:27 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Elayne should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Elayne enters and sits in front of the fireplace.
Elayne: Evenin' all! Is it Thursday?
Elayne: Every day's much the same inside this box.
DJTweeny: Hi Elayne
Cease: Hi El
Elayne: How IS everyone? I'm concerned.
Elayne: I know Phil P went to the eye doc again today for another treatment.
Elayne: And David's back in Whidbey, selling the heck out of Papoon.
Cease: Aside from the endless sore back, I'm ok.
Elayne: I'd take a sore back over all these alternatives going around, Cat.
Cease: Indeed
Elayne: Allergies are giving me a hot kiss at the end of a wet fist, but otherwise I'm OK.
Cease: Fumiyo listens to Japanese news on her phone non-stop
Cease: Pretty depressing.
Elayne: How is our Firesign family then? I'm assuming no gnus is good gnus?
Elayne: Yes, Japan had a recurrence, didn't they?
Cease: They're on Facebook all the time.
llanwydd: what is phils problem, elayne?
Elayne: As long as folks are on FB we can keep track of them. Zuckerberg may be a Zuckerberg but at least FB lets us stay in touch.
Elayne: lan, he's got macular degeneration.
llanwydd: my grandmother had that
Cease: My mother as well
Elayne: Half the folks on my mom's side of the family have that. Mom takes like 3 different eye drops
Elayne: I suspect it's probably in my future. :(
DJTweeny: I know blind/visually impared people who use screen readers and do the net just fine
Cease: We had a blind chatter at one time, Dave. He'll be in the Ossman project, talking about how Firesign helped him listen to more conversations at once
DJTweeny: nice
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Read about DUKE OF MADNESS MOTORS - Every Firesign Theatre radio broadcast from the "Dear Friends" era (1970-1972) >> https://firesigntheatrelegacy.com/firesale/firesale.php?audio#DUKEOFPFTFTJ
Cease: 18 adults, 6 kids
llanwydd: no jokes about mexico
DJTweeny: Rev. Barnstormer's "No Jokes About America" is great
llanwydd: yes it is
Cease: Do you think this working from home thing is going to continue once the virus has passed?
DJTweeny: As long as it will take for the virus to pass, I'm guessing that remote work will have become part fo the culture
Elayne: I think it'll be some time before it's passed.
DJTweeny: It's not going to be just a couple of months
Elayne: I was already set up to work from home, but as an admin assistant, as and when this is all over, they'll want me back in the office.
Elayne: Exactly so, Kurt.
Cease: Our government is talking about it going on for the rest of the year
DJTweeny: It could be that long before they get a vaccine distributed
Elayne: The first thing they actually need is a widely-distributed antibody test. That tells you who's had the virus asymptomatically and is cleared to go out again.
DJTweeny: Yes
Elayne: NYS is working on scaling that up, according to the guv.
DJTweeny: I read that the test kits the UK got from the PRC didn't work
Elayne: The federal government is doing everything it can to impede the process, as usual.
Cease: It does feel like a world turned upside down
DJTweeny: It's a once in a lifetime event
||||||||| The TV flickers on, and Ralph Spoilsport appears: "How can you drive in two places at once when you don't have a genuine Ralph Spoilsport license plate frame? Get one for your car and one for the plate in your head!"
Cease: let's hope so, Tween
||||||||| Mayor P'nisnose strides up to the podium and speaks: "My fellow Armenians, if you have questions about exorcism, buy the new book "EXORCISM IN YOUR DAILY LIFE", now on sale. Incidentally, so is my vote."
||||||||| Catherwood enters with T.Brillig close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 9:45 PM tree-stunting plans, and runs off to the Aviary.
Elayne: Evening TB
DJTweeny: Hi T
T.Brillig: Sorry Cathewood...
Cease: Hi T
T.Brillig: Evening all, hoppe all are well
DJTweeny: Catherwood, please take T.Brillig's hat and goat
||||||||| Catherwood takes tbrillig's hat and goat.
T.Brillig: damned tyops... can;t seem to get them out of the keys
T.Brillig: Has anybody seen my goat?
DJTweeny: sneaky little critters, those typos
||||||||| "9:47 PM? 9:47 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Not Ed should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Not Ed enters and sits on the divan.
DJTweeny: Hi Not Ed
Not Ed: Porque?
Elayne: Evenin' NotEd!
T.Brillig: Careful NotEd, they just pulled the plastic off that...
Not Ed: Hey Tweeny
Not Ed: Hi hi hi E
Cease: Hey Not
Not Ed: Cheers TB
Not Ed: ha
Elayne: Have DocTech and Lili shown up these past few weeks?
Elayne: I'm concerrned as Lili probably didn't start that census job...
Cease: no
DJTweeny: nope
Not Ed: Cease, llan good 2 c u
Elayne: Dang. I'll drop them a text. That's the #1 best way to communicate with DocTech.
Cease: Theoretically Doc is busy mixing The Ossman Project
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Read about DUKE OF MADNESS MOTORS - Every Firesign Theatre radio broadcast from the "Dear Friends" era (1970-1972) >> https://firesigntheatrelegacy.com/firesale/firesale.php?audio#DUKEOFPFTFTJ
Cease: that blackberry brandy sounds good.
DJTweeny: It does
Cease: oh, this is the first version of this. i use 2 others all the time in my collages
T.Brillig: The Ossman Project.. dman... sounds like a Top Secret underground 50's SF movie...
Cease: Paul Mavrides thought it was Ludlum novel.
T.Brillig: Good also
T.Brillig: something where, if you know the name... we have to take you
Cease: IActually it's a bunch of Firefans/chatters reading Ossman's note from Immortality, and telling tales of their involvements with Firesigns
Cease: Will premiere here next Thursday
T.Brillig: broading and deepening teh Firesign Matrix... always a good thing
Cease: Plus a bunch of kids. Hopefully future Firesign fans.
Not Ed: I miss Wendy Carlos making music - where is she now?
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Thanks to RADIO FREE DISHNUTS for providing the streaming server for this show. If you'd like to make a small contribution to help with the server fees, there's a PayPal link to donate here >> http://dishnuts.net
||||||||| Bebop Lobo reminds all you hep cats to listen to Firesign’s NEW 24/7 RADIO STATION Click to listen anytime!"
DJTweeny: He is now Walter
Not Ed: Cool to hear some in that track
DJTweeny: and still making music, as far as I know
DJTweeny: OOps, I got it backwards didn't I?
Not Ed: Unfortunately I don't think so - silence forever, and her entire catalog has been out of print for years
Not Ed: yes
Not Ed: Walter became Wendy
DJTweeny: Wendy Carlos - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wendy_Carlos
Not Ed: Yep
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Not Ed: pretty much nothing at all in any way from her since about 2005
||||||||| Mayor P'nisnose strides up to the podium and speaks: "My fellow Armenians, if you have questions about exorcism, buy the new book "EXORCISM IN YOUR DAILY LIFE", now on sale. Incidentally, so is my vote."
Not Ed: cryptic message about some unspecified rights issues on her webpage has been there just about as long
Not Ed: troubling
Cease: this is quite a good CBC show every sunday morning
Rufus_T_Firetween: oops, forgot to change the topic

llanwydd: DYLAN! fantastic
Mike_B: Oh my. A radio Free Oz broadcast?
DJTweeny: One of my housemates at the school was the son of a music reviwer for the NYT, so he had lots of early release albums, including Firesign

DJTweeny: He turned me on to them

DJTweeny: *commercial
Cease: was that early 70s, Mike?
Mike_B: Yeah. 1970 or 71
Cease: I wrote a play with the Firesigns in 98 and mention little rock in it. I was contacted by a DJ in that city who wanted to play it.
Cease: Probably not the same station
Mike_B: And this person whose car I was in had a copy of HCYBITPAO...
Mike_B: Oh really?
Mike_B: Yeah, that station had a sort of "history" I guess of avant garde-ness
Mike_B: I think it's all-Christian, all the time now. I turned it in a few years ago
DJTweeny: Good stuff, Cat
llanwydd: cool!
