Cease: speaking of the CBC, the pianist Glen Gould did a series of radio programmes for them. i heard one of them this week and will be making a collage based on it. many voices at once, very firesonian
Deputy MacDang: yummo!
JAM: All this talk is making me hungry
Fresnoid: I really hate to admit how this is making me hungry. I gained 50 pounds in six months a few decades ago from Ice Cream Parlor ice cream addiction. :-(
Beet: Let's Eat!
Deputy MacDang: this is awesome! Do you have the source/CD/DVD mentioned above?
Cease: which one, Deputy?
JAM: Cat, please mention Gould’s soundtrack work on Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five. Amazing in its simplicity.
Cease: ah yes, jam. that was magnificent.
DJTweeny: So Cease, Simril is a Russian name?

Cease: At Bergman's death, they were doing a series called Talking Over Each Other
Deputy MacDang: I'm sorry--I tuned in late and haven't read everything and am on a computer I'm unfamiliar with.
JAM: I love the way Gould would hum or sing along with what he was playing. It was his way of remembering the music & allowed him to not have to read the music.
Beet: I had also assumed Japanese ancestry, Cease.
Deputy MacDang: Let me ask a different question... Is this/these audio stored on The Internet Archive or something similar (Library of Congress, Library of Alexandria)?
DJTweeny: Anyone think there's too much compression?
Beet: Sounds good to me.
Cease: Yes, I'm a rare white man with a Japanese name. Women weren't allowed to keep their maiden names here in Vancouver when we married in 75, and she wanted to keep her name so I changed my name to hers.
DJTweeny: I put a VST module in to the streamerer to try to even things out
JAM: Well, I think it doesn’t need any more squeeze...

Deputy MacDang: I hope I have the microphone off...
DJTweeny: yes it does, Deputy, goes into sleep mode on a Mac
DJTweeny: e may be a Preference to turn that off
DJTweeny: but that's the default

DJTweeny: *there may be
Beet: The Sting Man
JAM: I did meet an elderly Romanian woman who described how as a child at the end of WW2, she & her sister walked over 20 miles, looking for anything edible, & not even seeing a single green leaf
DJTweeny: jeeze :(
DJTweeny: show of hands, who wants to stop the wars?
Deputy MacDang: I have a bio-brother who says raw grasshoppers are not as enjoyable as you might hope, but they're good enough when that's what you need. He/we live in the USA.
Beet: I'll show my feet too
JAM: She told me this story while teaching me reflexology foot massage
DJTweeny: ARP 2500 modular synth, cool machine

JAM: Me. I’ve had all the war & conflict I can stand for several lifetimes.
Beet: That was great
Deputy MacDang: TMI, but one reason I've been unemployed a lot lately is that I no longer want to work in the so-called Defense industry.
Beet: Hiya Fella
DJTweeny: Feats Don't Fail Me Now!
Deputy MacDang: Feats! Indeed!
Regular Little Fella: Keep it sweet Beet!
DJTweeny: Hi Regular

Deputy MacDang: @DJTweeny the thing about wars is that everyone thinks they're okay, so long as it's other people involved
Beet: I would love to hear that peaople aren't killing each other anymore.
Deputy MacDang: Don't get me wrong--I didn't quit [just] for conscientious objective reasons. But it was certainly a factor in the eventual decision. I accept the cost.
Fresnoid: Maybe if the word about PTSD goes viral people will stop joining the "defense industry" called "The Armed Forces" and the old adage, "What if they threw a war and nobody came" would come true.
DJTweeny: Deputy MacDang: @DJTweeny the thing about wars is that everyone thinks they're okay, so long as it's other people involved << You bet. As I said, we have no concept of what happened in Russia

DJTweeny: good question, Deputy
Deputy MacDang: Thank you Cease.
Fresnoid: Nah.
