Son of Firesign: Catherwood, answer this call on your video phone.
||||||||| Catherwood walks right past Son of Firesign
Son of Firesign: Win a ringy dingy, Catherwood.
||||||||| Catherwood steps alongside Son of Firesign and queries "Typing my name just to rile me, eh?"
Son of Firesign: Get with it, Catherwood.
||||||||| Catherwood gets with it.

||||||||| RedPillTweeny - dead from dengue fever
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, July 21, 2011 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood pipes up: "9:04 PM and late as usual, it's cool cat, just back from Hellmouth."
cool cat: is everyone dead from heat?
||||||||| Catherwood enters with Principalpoop close behind, mumbles something about disrupting his 9:10 PM tree-stunting plans, and scurries off to the vestibule.
Principalpoop: what is that thing?
Principalpoop: vevo thing
cool cat: ?
Principalpoop: i am getting a commercial at the top of the chat
cool cat: is everyone tyoo hot to type?
cool cat: not me
Principalpoop: http://vevo.ly/gHdvmO
cool cat: maybe the firesign are trying to merchandise chat; but not on my screen
Principalpoop: son of firesign posted it
cool cat: no idea, poop. it's not on my screen, thankfully
Principalpoop: as the chat scrolled, it is gone now too
cool cat: good
cool cat: dex said he wouldn't be here today. what's the excuse for others?
Principalpoop: middle of summer, usually is quiet
Principalpoop: agree too hot to type
cool cat: summer vacations?
Principalpoop: ok
cool cat: van must be one of the coolest places in north america now
Principalpoop: we had 107 today, or around 41 C if you prefer
cool cat: eastern canada is supposedly the hottest in history, since records have been kept there
Principalpoop: that sun is brutal
Principalpoop: one of us must chat, with only 2, or the chat really slows down
Principalpoop: record temperatures huh, a hot time in the old town tonight
cool cat: you're right. i have been back and forth upstairs as my wife and i are making a chicken dish
Principalpoop: ahh ok, you are excused
cool cat: you're in virginia?
Principalpoop: yes, yes I am, sorry
cool cat: part of the general north american melt down, i suspect
Principalpoop: i have not looked at the news, on tv or web yet
cool cat: on yeseterday's news, it said that it was 52 C in Iowa. that's a hundred twenty something in F
Principalpoop: lordy lordy
cool cat: they showed images of roads melting, buckling
cool cat: death valley temp
Principalpoop: that is hell hot yes
cool cat: in ontario, they're telling everyone to stay indoors.
cool cat: we just took our summer sheets off and went back to our winter sheets it's so chilly here
Principalpoop: they may be telling me that here, but I am already in hehe
cool cat: i have to check chicken prep upstairs, be back in a couple minutes
Principalpoop: careful, that is like washing your car makes it rain
Principalpoop: ok
cool cat: yeah, fumiyo cut my hair last week, i get one hair cut a year and usually thereafter it gets cold
cool cat: got chicken in oven. the one recipe i got from my mother. one of my faves
Principalpoop: just feels cooler, but ok lol
cool cat: kind of an italian thing.
Principalpoop: any marinating involved?
cool cat: no. my mother called in chicekn ragu, cuz she used ragu sauce. also monterey jack cheese, while i use gouda
Principalpoop: yum
cool cat: it's chicken, tomato sauce, cheese, green peppers, dilll and lemon slices. baked till deliocous
cool cat: we have a fantastic chicken store here in north van so it's one of my faves
Principalpoop: making my mouth water
cool cat: it's nice i can use the oven. if it were hot here, we wouldn't dream of baking anytihing
Principalpoop: i was thinking of that, should be eating mexican food or cold cuts
cool cat: just finished microwaving (2 min) a cidre so i'm drinking a seriously hot beverage. in mid july. very odd
cool cat: yeah i'd love to be making salad nicoise or other summer food. potato salad, etc.
cool cat: but it's too cool for that
Principalpoop: i have potatoes boiling now
cool cat: BC has a fantastic summer cidre, but it isn't hot enough to drink it yet
Principalpoop: less than 20 C all week at near 10 C at night, you will have snow
Principalpoop: i looked at your forecast
cool cat: we do love vancouver. that's why we live here. we've lived in far worse places
cool cat: i was out last night and needed jacket. quite cool at night
cool cat: japan in july is truly hellish
Principalpoop: 10 is brrrrrr lol
||||||||| 9:35 PM: Otto Yamamoto jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past five minutes!"
Principalpoop: ahh so yammy
cool cat: hey otto
Otto Yamamoto: greeting
cool cat: i say the word "japan" and yammy shows up. coincidence?
Principalpoop: add the radiation to that, and indeed hellish
cool cat: has the heat driven you into chat? it seems to have driven most chatters away
Otto Yamamoto: I'm all aglow
Principalpoop: i was thinking of germany, that is what brought otto in
Otto Yamamoto: I thought I'd turn up
cool cat: i used to live near the infected area 40 years ago. thankfully not now
Otto Yamamoto: I'm my own Axis
cool cat: he's the one stop axis man
||||||||| Catherwood leads H Stones in through the front door at 9:37 PM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
cool cat: hey stones
Principalpoop: at least you have an axis to grind
Principalpoop: your highness, my lord
||||||||| Catherwood leads Bunnyboy into the room, accepts an I.O.U. as a gratuity, grumbles something about 9:37 PM, then departs.
Bunnyboy: Yo da.
Principalpoop: and bunnyboy too, hip hop, the plot thickens
cool cat: i'm drinking a british cidre (blackthorn) so maybe that's what brought him
cool cat: nd bunny too
H Stones: the plot looks a bit thick, try adding water
cool cat: it was just poop and me for the first half hour, and i was back and forth baking chicken upstairs
Principalpoop: use chicken stock, or fish, whatever the market has
Otto Yamamoto: Too bad I can't reach in and get a glass
Principalpoop: a plate of shaving cream would hit the spot
cool cat: it's as hot as hot coffee or tea, otto. are you sure you want a hot beverage?
cool cat: is it pleasent in seattle, bun?
Otto Yamamoto: I drink coffee in summer, why not?
Bunnyboy: Poop: Ask Murdoch. He almost got one.
H Stones: yes poop, it did when we threw it at Murdoch
cool cat: we need some sun here so i can repaint my gates
Bunnyboy: Grey, then sunny, then grey again.
cool cat: cool?
Principalpoop: yes, what a bunch of bold faced liars, goodness
Bunnyboy: The meterological term is "fell off the table".
cool cat: i saw the sun so i thought i'd walk over to the rec centre and lift weights. wearing sweat shirt and swerat pants, walking 5 blocks, i was surprisingly cold
cool cat: i was trying to air out the quilt and it started raining so i had to bring it in
Principalpoop: only 107 today, 41 C, a tad warm
H Stones: i note that Nino is now completely lost
Otto Yamamoto: It's been warmish round here
cool cat: i need the wood gates to have at least a couple of rainless days before i stain them
Principalpoop: never recovered from the slovakian, czheckinian hacking
Otto Yamamoto: It's 32 now, feels like 39
H Stones: currently only 18 C here
Principalpoop: brrrr stones
H Stones: it all part of living on an island at the same lattitude as Fairbanks
Otto Yamamoto: Send that to Manhattan for next weekend pls
Principalpoop: Douglas?
cool cat: my computer says 17 here, but that's downtown, not north van which is cooler still
cool cat: have you had any heat this summer, stones?
cool cat: not us
cool cat: i was downtown with a heavy jacket last night and i was cold
H Stones: we have had some balmy days with temps in the 70s F but only one day when it reached 94 F
H Stones: July is the English monsoon
Principalpoop: that is hot for england
cool cat: i was in vegas for 5 days in may. that's probably the only heat i'll see this year
cool cat: and i didnt like it at all
H Stones: english heat tends to be very humid and unpleasant
Otto Yamamoto: Stay away from NYC :)
cool cat: i was there last sept. it was hot
H Stones: thats good advice anytime, Fong lives there
Principalpoop: hot time in the summer fun
cool cat: more humid than it ever gets here
Otto Yamamoto: Just as hot, way more humid and the Bums are in full bloom
cool cat: i know. i stayed at his place
H Stones: lol
Principalpoop: fong in full bloom, oh my
||||||||| Catherwood leads Elayne inside, makes a note of the time (9:48 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
H Stones: he probably attracts lots of wasps
Elayne: Evenin', all!
cool cat: and speaking of new york....
H Stones: hi Eolayne
Principalpoop: Hi E, hot enough for yah?
Bunnyboy: hi El!
Elayne: Can't stay long, too busy. Need shower and so forth...
Elayne: New York is bloody awful right now.
Otto Yamamoto: Heh-is he the old dreadlocked dude that hangs out around Cha Cha's in Coney?
Bunnyboy: (sings) Heil myself, heil to meeeeee....
Elayne: I get chest pains when I try to breathe outdoors.
Bunnyboy puts clothespin on nose.
Principalpoop: E, getting all sudsy and ... stop it poop, be nice
H Stones: we have dry bits interspersed with heavy showers currently and more to come over the next few days.
Otto Yamamoto: E-it's no surprise
Principalpoop: careful E, don't fool around
cool cat: hey E, that Beats graphic thing i mentioned last week ends with a chapter by/about Tuli. really good
cool cat: el, that's what i felt in japan
Elayne: Tomorrow's going to be the worst of it. I get out of work at 3 PM, which is probably going to be the height of the heat, or the heat of the height...
Principalpoop: ugh
Principalpoop: get a tan walking around in the english rain stones? who is the walrus?
Elayne: Ugh is right. I'm going to shower now. Will try to log on again after I'm a little more comfy.
H Stones: its terrible when you cannot afford either the hot or the cold
cool cat: ok el. stay cool
Principalpoop: ciao, or sleep if you can
Elayne: Oh, speaking of the walrus, it wasn't Paul, and I should know because I saw Paul in concert last Saturday. Best show I've ever been to.
cool cat: that's the reason we live in north van. we don't get the kind of heat/cold the rest of the coutnry gets, usually
Elayne: Later, all.
||||||||| At 9:52 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Elayne!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
cool cat: great to hear, el
Principalpoop: silly love songs, anybody else tired of them?
H Stones: even on a grey rainy day, it gets hot in a green house, never underestimate the power of solar radiation, polar explorers get sunburned through the clouds
Otto Yamamoto: I heard a lot of good word about Paul's show
Principalpoop: i knew that
cool cat: i loved paul's first two solo albums
H Stones: you know too much Poop
Principalpoop: ultra violet, remember her?
Otto Yamamoto: A few of my miscreant friends showd up to it
cool cat: an andy warhol creature, right?
H Stones: we got a devorce, i tried arguing with her till i was red in the face
Principalpoop: she did have that polarizing effect
H Stones: yes, even my baked beans all face north
Otto Yamamoto: Prolly got burned in the deal
cool cat: i love polarizing filters
cool cat: a way to play with reflections, which is the main thing i photograph
Principalpoop: prolly, that was trom sawyers girlfriend
H Stones: i used dto but i dont smoke no more
Principalpoop: tired of walking up on the floor stones?
||||||||| Catherwood stumbles in and announces "Presenting 'Woody 1', just granted probation at 9:56 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
H Stones: in the UK we are just tired of walking upright
Bunnyboy: Harelip!
Principalpoop: woody, the plot continues to thicken
Bunnyboy: Oh, hiya Woody 1!
Principalpoop: Would I? Would I?
H Stones: hi Woody
Woody 1: It's going to be a bumpy night. Wife on the high end. A Neil video for you to enjoy. Howdy all
Principalpoop: accept the euro and join europe stones, resistance is futile
Woody 1: Young that is
H Stones: we have little choic now tht the Dollar is going out of fashion
cool cat: hi woody
Otto Yamamoto: Not anymore
Woody 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOkAPS2jjyI
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
cool cat: hows it goin, wood?
H Stones: shut the fuck up Catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood rushes up to H Stones and asks "Do you have something for me to do?"
H Stones: yes catherwood and you wont like it
||||||||| Catherwood steps over to H Stones and mumbles "Someone mention my name?"
Otto Yamamoto: I keep hitting the space bar expecting something to happen...
Woody 1: Watch in entirety. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOkAPS2jjyI
cool cat: still collecting road signs, yammy?
cool cat: you think you'll get spaced? it usually takes something else
Woody 1: Good.
Woody 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOkAPS2jjyI
Principalpoop: I see your neil young youtube and raise you a jackson 5 with dom deluise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tICestGPPbs&feature=related
Otto Yamamoto: I've cut way back on the signs
cool cat: hey bun, are you on the fantagraphics mailing list, the fbi thing?
cool cat: a great firesign line from before they made records: the jackson five story, starring the osmands
Principalpoop: cut them or just undo the nuts and bolts to get them?
Otto Yamamoto: Heh- I only photographed them
Otto Yamamoto: Not so much anymore
Principalpoop: ahh, a modern hunter
Bunnyboy: New TMBG.
Bunnyboy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2nEXHvzwW4
Woody 1: Neil's right on. 82. Needs to be seen. Watch the way he kills lead and stays constant, especially with his blowing tie.
cool cat: when i lived in saskatoon 41 years ago, neal's cousin was my girlfriend.
cool cat: i didn't believe her at first, but she showed me family pix
Woody 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOkAPS2jjyI
Otto Yamamoto: I'm doing urban photography, shows and occasional roads
cool cat: you get paid for that, yammy?
cool cat: did you see the roads buckling in iowa yest?
Otto Yamamoto: Shows on occasion. I have some projects upcoming
Principalpoop: ok, I will watch the whole thing..
Otto Yamamoto: I haven't been west of the Delaware in some time. West of the hudson is getting rare
||||||||| "10:10 PM? 10:10 PM!!" says Catherwood, "Elayne should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as Elayne enters and sits in front of the fireplace.
cool cat: i went thru delaware on train to/from nyc to dc when i went east in 05.
Bunnyboy: What? Again?!?
Bunnyboy: Oh, hi El!
cool cat: much of the east coast i saw from the train looked like a country that had lost a war
Otto Yamamoto: Delaware River :)
Elayne: Hey again.
cool cat: and considering i was going to visit el, here she is.
Elayne: I thought I'd feel better but, alas, I find myself overcome.
Elayne: I will speak to you all next week when, I hope, my system has gotten over this heat wave.
||||||||| 10:11 PM -- Elayne left for parts unknown.   (Entry from Nick Danger's "Idiots I Have Been Paid To Follow").
Otto Yamamoto: I may well end up in Queens by the end of the year
cool cat: no this was wilmington, along with newark and baltimore and philly, even suburbs of dc looked like abandoned wasteland
cool cat: minus ts elliot
cool cat: better to be in queens than to be Queen.
cool cat: hi and by, el
Woody 1: Thanks, Principal Poop. Well worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOkAPS2jjyI

Woody 1: Every time I watch it, it gives me goose bumps.
Principalpoop: i have grand funk railroad favorites too, a bit more hardcore, but same idea
cool cat: i bought that years ago, bun. absolutely hated it
cool cat: only bought it cuz it was in krassner's book, where he gives groucho acid for his role in that flick
Bunnyboy: cat: From what I understand, Der Otto was quite the bastard, to Groucho in particular.
Otto Yamamoto: Heh. I get a little moar hardcore than Grand Funk
cool cat: clapton's tokyo version of i shot the sherrrif, which is on my blog somewhere, is the best guitar playing i've ever seen

cool cat: i read it again in vancouver's most upscale restaurant the day before it closed. everyone was crying, but i was laughing hystericlaly
Bunnyboy: cat: Unfortunately, I've not read any REALISTS, or much of Krassner. I've seen him interviewed, in several documentaries, and I think I'm his FB friend...if he's still on FB.
cool cat: i'm not sure about facebook, bun. i think he was overwhelmed. but we keep in touch by email
Woody 1: Love talking but fading and need to tend to my lovely wife. Take care, lovers of the most awseome comedy group beside The Marx Bros. of all time. Saying a a bunch I think. Night

Otto Yamamoto: HAW! HAW! HAW!
Bunnyboy: lo, Young Man!
cool cat: i told him about Fumiyo translating Ziggy Marley's dope comic and Paul is interested in seeing if i can find him a good japanese publisher

||||||||| At 10:26 PM, Woody 1 scurries out the door saying "Hey, mister ice-cream man, I've got a nickel, wait for meeeee..."
Porgie Tirebiter: I'm a student
Bunnyboy: Ben Ohmart (Bear Manor Media) is based in Japan, I believe.
Porgie Tirebiter: Where's Bottles?
cool cat: no shit? ok, then i have to pursue that.
cool cat: but the ziggy publisher asked fumiyo today to find him a canuck publisher for one of his japanese books so i think various projects will be going back and forth accorss the ocean
cool cat: a student of firesign? then you';ve come to the right place.
Principalpoop: In the back seat, want a snort?
cool cat: although, you aint got no friends on your rightr
cool cat: i'm surprised paul doesn't have japanese publishing contacts.
Porgie Tirebiter: That's for beaners
Principalpoop: We dont say beaners anymore, that is impolite, we say criminal illegal aliens
cool cat: Impolite, my favourite Vancouver film
cool cat: is this your first time here, porge? we keep changing our names so we never know
Principalpoop: what was the synthetic rubber slothrop was looking for? impolix?
Otto Yamamoto: I think my name is the same
