cease: and maybe we can record you too
cease: we have to get back to milford to do some work here sat evening
Elayne: Oh, I definitely wouldn't mind doing recording, especially being as non-mobile as I am. Robin's another story.
Elayne: Wait, you're not staying here?
cease: i thought i mentionedthis on previous chats
Elayne: No, that was supposed to be Plan B in case I was still sick.

Elayne: On the other hand, I don't have to food shop. :)
TXTweeny: Little darling...
cease: yes, ironing is magnetic
Elayne: And Tom, Grid bless you, you'll be driving so I won't have to walk on this bum leg.

Elayne: Okay sorry, was talking with Robin. Anyway, the first stop after the Saw Mill becomes the HH is Broadway. Exit there and keep to the right, past the stables. (Horsies!)
Elayne: Then call us and I'll guide you the rest of the way.
cease: el, did you know dex had a show on wbai in the 70s?
TXTweeny: No lenurs here, guaranteed free of blue mutants

Elayne: You did, Dex? You never said!! All those drinks I plied you with, and nary a word!
doctecazoid: 52? 68?
cease: mutant lemurs= lenurs
doctecazoid: he's a cagey one
Elayne: Tom, I'd estimate from 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. We'll head down the West Side Highway, I'd imagine, but it's the weekend so I'm sure everyone will be crowding to get to the Intrepid or somesuch nonsense.
Elayne: Oh wait, Dex isn't here. Never mind.
cease: he played me a tape of a piece he wrote about indians, sort of temp humboldt dex
cease: very funny. from 78
doctecazoid: e: right - that intrepid intrepid. h&h bagels not far from there! (drool drool)
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood snorts derisively: "9:29 PM and late as usual, it's Dexter Fong, just back from New York."

Elayne: I never knew about any of this 'BAI stuff. All those drinks I plied you with, and nary a word...
doctecazoid: or at least a loan?
TXTweeny: Is the elevator boy in your family?
Dexter Fong: E: Plie on
cease: sometimes, its better to be short
Dexter Fong: and stout
Bambi: hey Dex
doctecazoid: will
TXTweeny puts a light on his bowie
Dexter Fong: Cat: You left your cheese here...will forward soonest
Elayne: Dex, I may be keeping those books awhile. I had another hospital stay so I never got to catch up on my reading. I would've brought the books with me had I known they'd be keeping me overnight.
TXTweeny hopes people 'see' it
cease: eat it. eat it raw
Dexter Fong: E; As always, no hurry
cease: lili bought me a bunch of new cheeses today
doctecazoid: tee jays

TXTweeny: Who Who Ray!
TXTweeny: Let's open _all his_ underware
Dexter Fong: Keep your hands off my soft wa...er uh hardware
TXTweeny: Diet, Cola?
Elayne: Still a bit shaky, Dex. The second (unexpected) infection kind of threw me. I'm getting better but more slowly than I want. My left leg isn't quite obeying my brain yet.
TXTweeny: Sheik Yerbouti, E
doctecazoid: cease: "... excellent sangria, which we found at a very large store, lots of animatronics..." doc: "Stew Leonard's, right?"
TXTweeny: Also 15 years Texas
TXTweeny: A little different
Dexter Fong: Leanard stew? I've had Leopard Stew when I was traveling with the Bantu's
TXTweeny: There are robot flying drones on the border
Elayne: Hey, didn't I inaugurate you in the Ways of Stew, Cat?
Dexter Fong: Drones without borders
TXTweeny: for your smoke and nose candy
doctecazoid: e: cat stepped away, he'll be right back
doctecazoid: e: cat was regaling me of his memory of you taking him to stew's
Elayne: Oh, who can keep track? :)
Elayne: Ah, he was, was he? :)
TXTweeny: Leaglize is the only answer
doctecazoid: he couldn't remember the name of the store but when he said 'animatronics', i knew where he was talking about
Elayne: Do you want us to drive up on Sunday? I don't have a problem with driving, just walking.
Dexter Fong: Leagueulize, and bring back the Quid
TXTweeny: You are not allowed, female
Dexter Fong: Tweeny gets all sexist
doctecazoid: man it's so weird to be chatting here, remembering the many times i've chatted with cat here, and then he suddenly pokes his head in my doorway on the way back to the computer - very serial
TXTweeny: lol
TXTweeny: hardly
Dexter Fong: Tweeny gets all sexy
TXTweeny puts on his best finery
cease: i recall it was a big store,
Dexter Fong starts up his best refinery
TXTweeny: Do yu condome this sort of talk?
doctecazoid: hang on, have to help cat get back on chat - be right back
Dexter Fong: Do yu con do me? He's speaking spanglish

Bambi: something my Dad used to say ... he could speak German but would always play with it like that
||||||||| wydd enters at 9:40 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and scurries off to the Haberdashery Barn.
wydd: tghjyk
Dexter Fong: sdfhjkwiuy
TXTweeny: Sayst very mount
Dexter Fong: "Very Mount"!
Bambi: never learned German myself unfortunately ... he didn't teach it to us ... said we were Americans and should speak Engrish
Bambi: hey llan

Dexter Fong: Mount none, ride many
Elayne: Evenin' Llan!
wydd: ich spreche ein wenig deutsh. nicht perfekt
TXTweeny: Very non mooing on up?
Bambi: lol llan :-)
wydd: and I write it even worse
cease: im back
Elayne: Bambi, my experience was the opposite. My parents spoke Yiddish so we kids couldn't understand, and I enrolled in German in college to try to figure it out. Never quite worked. :)
TXTweeny: Ah, vernon hear
Dexter Fong: yes you are
doctecazoid: ok cat is back - and so am i
TXTweeny: Peel Her?
cease: front, sideways
Bambi: well, to my grandmother (on my Dad's side), my mother was a mutt and spoke only english ;-)
cease: hi llan
Bambi: to my grandmother's consternation
cease: did you get our email, el? dex?
cease: we sent you some scripts
Elayne: WB, Cat (and Tom)!
TXTweeny: Mount Peel her?
doctecazoid: oy gevalt
Dexter Fong: You mother was mute and spoke english?
Elayne: Hang on, let me check my Yahoo mail. I'm so bad at checking email nowadays.
wydd: und ich parle pas tre bien spanish

doctecazoid: i'm all ferklemt
Bambi: she had plans for my Dad to marry into a German family from the area
Dexter Fong: Have'nt checked yet cat
TXTweeny: I had bent lee there
Bambi: in north Jersey
wydd: sounds cool, cat
Bambi: course my Dad had his own plans LOL
TXTweeny: plain oh, TX?
wydd: raining cats and dogs, as they say, up here
doctecazoid: makes me think of a reality show opportunity: stuttgardt shore
doctecazoid: frau snookie
wydd: katze und hunden
Dexter Fong: This phonetic atlas of US Cities is brought to you by Tweenings, you'll know when you're there
cease: yesterday was my first sunny day in nyc. raining like shit when i arrived
doctecazoid: katze und jammer
doctecazoid: damn i left my drink downstairs
cease: i was stuck in montreal airport as weather delayed flight after flight
Dexter Fong: Cat: This threatened/promised horrible storm never really came today...gray, cloud a little spritzy
doctecazoid: there that's better
wydd: I've never flown into canada
Bambi: yeah, we are in the monsoon season here ... as I noted earlier, drought to monsoon ... nature, the great equalizer
cease: im enjoying country life in milford
TXTweeny: I will make my own, down the black muddy river...
cease: feet are very happy i'mnot using them
||||||||| TXTweeny leaves to catch the 9:47 PM train to Funfun Town.
ah,clem: it was here all day, Cat (storm)
Elayne: Okay, I'm looking at the script and I have a question. Is the second sentence part of my line, or is that just an explanation of the first line that should have gone in parentheses?
wydd: got to get me one of those "enhanced" driver's licenses one of these days
Bambi: been here since last night really
Elayne: Tom, we have a lot of wind gusts in our neighborhood. Although I don't think any trees are coming down on my car again.
Bambi: and will be here through till sometime tomorrow
cease: which line?
doctecazoid: e: glad to hear that!!!!
doctecazoid: the last line of this vintage script...
Dexter Fong: The moving yellow line
Bambi: already had over 4 inches of rain, earlier this evening and been raining cats and dogs since then too ...hate to think what the total will be
doctecazoid: "loaves peppermint"
Dexter Fong: about 627 doges and 4,017 cats
doctecazoid: i guess the animal shelters will be full up by the time all is said and done
Bambi: yeah, heard that Dex
cease: dex, can you check your email?
Elayne: Cat, the line on the top of the page, where it says my name. Consists of two sentences. Is the second sentence an explanation of the first, or am I supposed to say it out loud?
Dexter Fong: Did I say that out loud
cease: i described the scene to you inthat tapas restaurant yest
Bambi: lol
doctecazoid: i think details like these can be worked out at the time of the recording session
doctecazoid: better to be prepared to read a line and not have to, than not to be prepared and then having to.
doctecazoid: or something like that.
Elayne: Okay, I'm sure we'll talk more about it on Saturday.
Elayne: See you then. I'm taking this bum leg (and the rest of the body) to bed.
cease: your first line would be whatever you can say in yiddish. i dont know enough to write something. i'm hoping you can come up with something
doctecazoid: rest well e
wydd: nite elayne
Elayne is very excited to see her Firesign'y friends again!
doctecazoid: looking fwd to getting together this weekend!
Bambi: night E! rest well
cease: see you sat
||||||||| Elayne departs at 9:52 PM, singing "Toad away, toad away; toad away, toad away! Where do you go when you're toad away?"
doctecazoid: no weak end for us!!!!
Bambi: have a great visit!
cease: only strong ends
doctecazoid: oops - that's what happens when you park in a no parking zone (toad away)
wydd: that's a joke from Animal Crackers
Bambi: lol doc :-)
Dexter Fong: Cat: It's an Acrobat file yes, but somehow I can't open it
doctecazoid: never mind that, pick a card. (pause) keep it, i've got 51 left.
cease: doc, can you sendit to dex as a msg in chat here?
Dexter Fong: Will continue later
cease: i have that file onthislaptop
cease: can i send something that large?
Bambi: do you have all your parts covered Cat?
wydd: lol
Dexter Fong: I have acrobat so should be able to open it
cease: you want a part, bambi ? clem?
Bambi: parts for the play (lol)
Bambi: would be fun Cat :-)
Dexter Fong: Bambi: Members Only
doctecazoid: hang on, need to pay cease a visit downstairs.
cease: not play, little skit things, parody of radio free oz
Bambi: cool, sounds like a lot of fun
cease: i was talkig to ossman recently and toldhim i'd have it for him inoct
cease: ok doc is here doing things with computer
Dexter Fong thinks "sketch" sounds hipper than "skits"
Bambi: if you don't already have it covered that is
cease: have you listenedto the podcast of rfo, bambi and clem?
Dexter Fong: What's happening llan?
wydd: happening?
ah,clem: no
wydd: like I said, it's raining
Bambi: radio free oz...have heard them ... might listen again though :-)
Bambi: wait, thought you had them Clem?
Dexter Fong: llan: You've been very quiet
Bambi: maybe not then
ah,clem: not the podcast,
cease: ive writen a series of parodies of regular characters on the show
cease: sort of an homage
cease: bergman was begging listeners for new material
cease: a month or so ago
Bambi: is there some place we can get some to listen to?
Bambi: the podcast
cease: what is it, rfo.com?
cease: its been going since april. new material by bergman and great poetry by ossman
cease: also lots of politcal commentary by berg and bits of old firesign stuff
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Bambi: http://www.radiofreeoz.com
cease: check out www.rfo.com
Bambi: found it
wydd: let me know when it's 10:01, catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood lets wydd know when it's 10 01.
cease: id like to involve everyone from chat, who better to do firesign parodies than folks who are already fans
cease: thanks bambi
wydd: well, I'd like to be involved. might be fun
cease: you bet, llan. you can record yourself up there and send stuff?
wydd: I could do that
cease: too bad merl isnt here. hes' thecloset to the lads
cease: closest
cease: we lost tween but i want some texas stuff
Dexter Fong: I thought Merlyn lived in MInneapolis
Dexter Fong: That's not so close
wydd: at least 1000 miles closer than you, dex
doctecazoid: radiofreeoz.com has a month's worth of rfo podcasts archived
wydd: nino has me in albany tonight
wydd: he's only 100 miles off
Bambi: email with what you want me to read and I will listen to RFO podcast to see if I can get the right frame of mind for it LOL
doctecazoid: i've been more than 100 miles off - or felt like it anyway
wydd: lol
Dexter Fong: Cat/Doc: How was Daniel?
Dexter Fong: HAVE WE SPLIT?
cease: superb
Dexter Fong: Is this IRC?
cease: i was off for awhile. only doc would know why
cease: only on my laptop
Dexter Fong: Can you say a bit more Cat?
doctecazoid: cat's laptop got confused
doctecazoid: i had to refresh the network connection
cease: only 3 things, not 12
doctecazoid: he's back now - and so am i
cease: they also showed us their shiny, busy kitchen.
Dexter Fong: Good start, Cat
Bambi: welcome back :-)
cease: le be and ps has exemplary service but daniel was a level beyond them
Dexter Fong: Really?
cease: i had langoustines, firsttime since florence and they were wonderful
doctecazoid: a jaw droppingly amazing experience
Dexter Fong: Doc: Isn't it wonderful what Cat's money can buy =))
cease: 2 kinds of beef, the wagyu was wonderful, the short rib rather heavy but the woman who took care of suggested a perfect wine to lightenit up
doctecazoid: too dimensional, dex
Dexter Fong: You drank wine?
cease: i drank wine instead of the per se faux boose,
Dexter Fong: You go girl!!
cease: llyh the faux booze was better. i want my bartender cousin to see those recipies
Dexter Fong: er uh CAT!!
cease: great faux booze is better than any booze iknow, and ive drank several oceans
cease: also some amazing cocktails
Dexter Fong: Different approaches I'd think in operation here
cease: a glass of white wine would have helped negate the fishiness of the le b salmonthing
doctecazoid: thingfish
cease: but would have deteriorated my enjoyment of the scallops andthe monkfish, in my opinion
Dexter Fong: Fishiness???? Oh! you mean the savory salmon
cease: of the 3 restaurants, le b is the one i'd most want to return to
cease: maybe next year i'll have the whole chef's tasting menu
cease: lol dex
Dexter Fong: afkfr
Bambi: restaurants have 'chef's tasting menus' ?
cease: for lots of money, yes
ah,clem: not ones we can afford, lol
Bambi: LOL
wydd: I've never tasted a chef and I don't care to
cease: at the end of his life, my father fondly recalled meals he'd had decades ago
cease: i hope to do the same
ah,clem: a McNugget, a couple fries, a bite of a big mac...
wydd: LOL
doctecazoid: come to moore's where whining and dining are a thing of the past. order up a chef's salad, marinated in day-old saliva. or for those with hefty appetites, order up a chef! moore's ... "where you'll always want moore."
wydd: I too, cat fondly remember some great meals
Bambi: or Cafe Clem .... always great food :-)
wydd: LOL, doc
ah,clem: but it's never on the menu
wydd: I actually meant to spell that, "I too, can..." but it still makes sense
Bambi: that's true ... surprise, surprise :-)
doctecazoid: Chez Lili may open late - but the wait is worth it!
Dexter Fong: I Toucan, Scourging God of the Incas Hereby resign
doctecazoid: is that "scourging god" or "scrounding god"?
Dexter Fong: Toucan Pac as cheaply as one with our Expandible Interdimentional Luggage
Bambi: LOL Doc
Dexter Fong: Ground Scrod, God
Dexter Fong: Why it tastes likes MAMA"S gefulte fish
wydd: at Cannibal Cafe, you are what you eat. And so are we
Dexter Fong: Did you hear about the canibal who passed another cannibal in the woods?
Bambi: smoked whiting wrapped in newsaper ... some of the best fish in the world ....
Dexter Fong: I think he was the Pope cannibal
Bambi: haven't had it since I was a kid, though
wydd: does fish go good with newspaper? I wouldn't know
Dexter Fong: Newspapers too expaensive now
wydd: I used to like gefilthy fish
Bambi: the newspaper was superfluous really, we ate it too fast and in the car (my Dad and me)
||||||||| It's 10:30 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| cease - dead from dengue fever
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Dexter Fong: llan: In england used to be and canada too, french fries and fish and chips were always served in newsprint
||||||||| cease steps in at 10:30 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Dexter Fong: along with malt vinegar
wydd: that's probably bad for digestion
Bambi: it was from a small local shop that did a great job ... but they wrapped it in newspaper ... guess it was cheaper than the rolled paper lol
Dexter Fong: Ummm, you *don't* have to eat the newsprint
doctecazoid: the laptop i set up for cat keeps crapping out - he's been kicked off chat 3 or 4 times
wydd: yeah I was in england and tried the malt vinegar. it's good but you have to use a lot to taste it. its quite mild
cease: im back or sideways
doctecazoid: i just got him set up at lili's pc, let's see how things go
Dexter Fong: He'd better shpae up then...he could be fined
wydd: bet they served an awful lot of paper on sundays
Bambi: lol
Dexter Fong: Nope, closed sundays
Dexter Fong: Gone fishin'
doctecazoid: sounds fishy to me
Bambi: never tasted the newsprint ... as I say, never lasted long enough to even pick up the color
wydd: when I went to fish and chips places in england I usually got steak and kidney pie instead
Dexter Fong: Don't breathe then
Dexter Fong: llan: And when you go to the steak and kidney pie place you have fish 'n chips?
cease: i could no more eat kidney than i could flap my arms and fly to the moon
doctecazoid: steak fish kidey chips - the same old thing a new way
wydd: no, any fish and chips "take-away" serves steak and kidney pie and usually shepherd's pie as well
doctecazoid: kidney dammit
Dexter Fong: A man's got to know his limitations
wydd: and chips always come with it
Dexter Fong: llan: How about a Ploughman's Lunch?
cease: better than a dog's breakfast
wydd: I never had ploughman's lunch, dex, but it sounds familiar
