||||||||| Outside, the 7:14 AM bus from Elmertown pulls away, leaving RedPillTweeny coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.

||||||||| Catherwood ushers RedPillTweeny into the room, accepts an I.O.U. as a gratuity, grumbles something about 8:29 AM, then departs.
||||||||| It's 8:40 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| RedPillTweeny - dead from intense demonic possession
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
||||||||| 5:11 PM: Bunnyboy jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
Bunnyboy: Happy Thanksgiving! May BBL.
||||||||| Bunnyboy is thrown out the window just as the clock strikes 5:12 PM.
||||||||| Catherwood ushers ah,clem into the room, accepts a $3 bill as a gratuity, mumbles something about 7:05 PM, then departs.
||||||||| At 7:06 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, ah,clem!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
||||||||| New CNI streaming notice: '"a few minutes with FireSign Theatre" at about 9 eastern time'
||||||||| Catherwood walks up and announces "Presenting 'ah,clem', just granted probation at 7:06 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
||||||||| "7:06 PM? I'm late!" exclaims ah,clem, who then runs out through the french doors and down through the garden.
||||||||| Merlyn steals in around 8:42 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last week's "unpleasant incident."
||||||||| New topic: 'Turkey Day'
Merlyn falls asleep
||||||||| A time machine materializes at 9:01 PM and cease waltzes out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, November 26, 2009 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!"
cease: Celebrating the Armenian holocaust?
Merlyn: hmm, probably not
Merlyn: maybe it's "Turnkey Day" for easily-configured computers
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood pipes up: "9:03 PM and late as usual, it's Bambi, just back from Elmertown."
Bambi: Hello Dear Friends ... Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!
Merlyn: hello bambi
Bambi: hey Merl
Merlyn: doing the obvious FT bit?
||||||||| Catherwood strides up and intones "Presenting 'Elayne', just granted probation at 9:05 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
Bambi: yep Clem is working it
Bambi: hey Elayne
Elayne: Evenin' all!
cease: A Shadow Moves Upon the Land?
Bambi: Happy Thanksgiving
cease: hey el
Bambi: hey Cat
Elayne: Spoke with Dex yesterday, he said he might stop by later.
Bambi: great
Elayne: Cat, I'm listening to the version of Pass the Indian, Please from the NPR tapes.
cease: that beatles 3000 thing on your blog is the funniest beatle thing i've encountered since the book Paperback Writer
Merlyn: hey E
cease: might?
Elayne: From this very website, in fact: http://www.firesigntheatrelegacy.com/npr/passtheindian.mp3
cease: which is the funniest book (or anything else)i've ever read
Elayne: Yes, Cat, I think he has plans for early evening.
cease: problem with pass the indian is that it's a fragment of an infinitely superior work
Elayne: Oh, thanks Cat! I really liked Beatles 3000. I have a couple other Beatle links in my blogaround, which I'm probably doing tomorrow or maybe later this evening.
cease: the said Shadow
||||||||| Catherwood leads ah,clem into the room, accepts an I.O.U. as a gratuity, mutters something about 9:08 PM, then departs.
cease: meniton the book, el. or better yet, read it. you're a beatles fan of some magnitude
Elayne: See Cat, I disagree, I think they refined it a lot, and it got better with age.
ah,clem: hi all
Elayne: Hey Jimmy!
ah,clem: happy native american day
Bambi: wb Clem :-)
ah,clem :)
cease: pass? oh no i'm not denigrating the npr or any other version, just pointing out that the whole is infinitely superior to the partt
cease: it's like thinking beat the reaper is all there is to Electrician
Elayne: Cat, are you talking about the Stephen Bly book? Never read it.
Elayne: Oh no, Temporarily Humboldt Country is all there is to Electrician. ;)
cease: no, paperback writer is by Mark Shipper
Elayne: Mark Shipper? Hang on...
cease: you have to read it sitting down. if you try and read it standing up, you'll fall down and die laughing
Elayne: Just put it on my Amazon wish list, Cat, thanks. By pure coincidence, my 52nd birthday is next Wednesday.
cease: i trtied to read a few pages in a yokohama bookstore and almost died right there before a friend who was with me bought me the book. i owe him my life
cease: like the python skit about the deadly joke
cease: anyway, Fumiyo is back from Japan and I'm elated
Elayne: Did she bring you back anything good? :)
cease: yes, some wonderful tea. it's called Hawaiian tea, lots of pineapple chunks, made in germany but for some reason only sold in japan
cease: i can bring you some when i come to nyc.
Bambi: glad Fumiyo is home .. safe and sound Cat
Elayne: Oooh, please! Sounds lovely.
cease: no one is gladder than me, bambi.
Elayne: Did you say you wanted to come here around October next year?
cease: having to walk the big dog in the snow not my or his idea of fun
cease: i'm not sure, el.
Elayne: My new sis-in-law fell totally in love with NYC when she and my brother visited for their first wedding anniversary a few months ago. I think they're coming back next October.
cease: cosndiering my non-tolerance for cold, maybe may would be best afterall
Elayne: Actually, duh, that was only a month ago! Wow, I lose track of time so easily.
||||||||| A time machine materializes at 9:15 PM and PassTheTweenPlease bounds out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
Bambi: I bet Cat ... hard to be apart when you love someone a lot
PassTheTweenPlease: Yum Yum
cease: next october is last month?
Bambi: hey Tween ... Happy thanksgiving
Elayne: Oh, wanted to pass along this satirical blog post about The War On Thanksgiving: http://no2religion.blogspot.com/2009/11/war-on-thanksgiving.html
cease: very true, bambi
cease: hi tween
Elayne: Evenin' Tween!
cease: very topical monniker tonight, tween
PassTheTweenPlease: Happy Bird Slaughter Day, all
cease: Shows in LA went pretty well. Nice theatre. I've got to write up the experience for the Blog and haven't got to it yet, what else is new? David's talked us into doing two low-ticket price nights at his local theatre on Whidby in Jan and we're researching other west coast possibilities. First time we've ever produced and financed ourselves. The $ returns are great, but we move slowly, one show at a time. The four of us are getting along really well. Peter is moving to Whidby this month, by the way.
Merlyn: bird's laughter day?
PassTheTweenPlease: Are you hungry? Let's eat!!
cease: that's from an email from austin i got last week
PassTheTweenPlease: Great to hear, cease :-)
PassTheTweenPlease: Whidby sounds like a Rod Serling character
Elayne: Peter moving to Whidbey? Wow, that's a real surprise, Cat.
Merlyn: yes cat. Did the LA shows make money then?
ah,clem: soon they will have to rename the island FireSign Island, lol
cease: no shit, el.
cease: thought he was mr. radio for youth in la
PassTheTweenPlease: Panoramaland?
cease: yeah, if they could pry the proctors from beverly hillls!
cease: but they never come down from the hills
cease: i deduce so from the above quote, merl.
PassTheTweenPlease: A Firesign theme park. Now there's the end of American society LOL
Elayne: Oh no, Phil and Melinda will never abandon that sweet house with its lovely garden.
Elayne: Besides, Phil gets a lot of work he'd never get if he didn't live right in town.
cease: i agree, el
cease: but i never thought bergman would leave la either
cease: also true, el
Elayne: Yeah, but in this Digital Age one can do radio stuff anywhere. One can't necessarily do voice work or live acting anywhere.
Elayne: In some professions, you still need to go where the work is.
PassTheTweenPlease: They could do the XM type stuff over the internet, but it wouldn't be the same thing as sitting around a table together ;)
PassTheTweenPlease me loves the XM series
cease: maybe yes, maybe no, tween
cease: p and m are in that theatre group in la, which they seem very dedicated to
PassTheTweenPlease: It was so great to see the at work with the XM videos
Elayne is watching various YouTube videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDe4v318f64&feature=player_embedded
cease: ossman told me that proc was pretty much retired, but i thought that meant to their condo in hawaii, not the sleet capital of the world
PassTheTweenPlease: Does anyone think it strange that we don't have and blind fans here? (except for Dave & Katie on occasion)
PassTheTweenPlease: Heard that. I love the Austin winters
cease: is katie blind? must be hard for her to be a guide dog then
cease: but your point is a good one, tween
PassTheTweenPlease: If you can stand 100+ in the summer, the Austin winters are amazing
cease: van has nice summers, but that's true of most of canada. winters, on the other hand....
PassTheTweenPlease: Would love to get the Boyz to play The Paramount here, where Lili Tomlin plays
ah,clem: this chat hard to follow at times with a screen reader
cease: contact austin, tween. it's driveable for him and oona and the dogs
PassTheTweenPlease: 4-w drive would be a must for most of Canada, from what I hear
cease: if the money is right, they might well do it. sounds like they're in search of gigs
Elayne: Wish I had enough money to venture out to CA again, it'd be nice to catch one more show...
cease: maybe you can persuade austin to drive out to nyc while the other guys fly and do some gigs there
Merlyn: I'm going to try to make it this time, unless I get sick again
Merlyn: I'm at the Langley motel, which is about 2 feet away from WICA
cease: are you making plans, merl?
Elayne: Cat, I have zero powers of persuasion on Austin.
Elayne: I consider myself damn lucky that Proctor still remembers who I am.
Merlyn: I'm flying out on Friday and back on Sunday cat
cease: you read my email exerpt. sounds like the lads are trolling for gigs
Merlyn: giving 1 or 2 people rides in the area too
cease: you have a place to stay there?
cease: i'm sure bunny wtill be there
Merlyn: See " I'm at the Langley motel" typed moments earlier, cat
Bambi: hope the lads can get some more gigs ... more people need to hear their comedy
cease: is that wlaking distance from the theatre?
cease: if so, i could do that
Merlyn: it's about 2 feet away cat
cease: bambi, they seem to want gigs.
Bambi: good
cease: they have any rooms still vacant? i'll have to get rental car
||||||||| 9:36 PM: llanwydd jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past hour!"
llanwydd: Happy Thanksgiving
Merlyn: my room is a double but I'm the only one in it so far cat, you should be able to stay with me
Merlyn: all the rooms are doubles
Merlyn: and it's reasonably cheap, like $95 a night
Elayne: Evenin' Llan!
cease: wow, thanks merl. just like the 99 show. now if only we could get doc tech!
cease: hey llan
cease: thats not bad at all, merl
PassTheTweenPlease: Hail and well met Welshman
Merlyn: motel = 526 Camano Avenue WICA = 565 Camano Avenue
cease: hi llan. check out the log for my austin news
llanwydd: I'll do that, cat
Merlyn: it even has a kitchen
PassTheTweenPlease: A Kitchner Kitchen?
PassTheTweenPlease: That's a bit kitch, don't you think?
llanwydd: anybody have anything really weird for dinner today?
Merlyn: though it looks like we'd have to share the bed
cease: ok i'll get a ticket for the show online. that's the saturday show, or friday or what? both?
Bambi: hi llan Happy Thanksgiving
llanwydd: thanks bambi, you too
Bambi: we had roasted chicken breasts
Merlyn: I'm staying both nights cat
cease: mmm, breasts
llanwydd: I guess that's unusual for thanksgiving
Bambi: and all the trimmings of course as though it was turkey :-)
cease: they have 2 shows, right?
cease: so i'd have to get tix for both
PassTheTweenPlease thinks cease has a ticket to ride
Merlyn: I'll have to check about 2 people, but that's the usual occupancy
Elayne: My mom had what she calls a Traditional Thanksgiving at a friend's house - bagels and lox, whitefish spread, cheese, veggies...
Merlyn: right, 1 show each night
PassTheTweenPlease: Did Omelette cannabilze?
llanwydd: that sounds unusual too, elayne
Bambi: made homemade candied sweet potatoes (from fresh sweet potatoes)
llanwydd: but I guess it wouldn't be for some people
cease: i just hope i dont have to drive through sleet, whidby roads are trecherous enough without it
Bambi: lol no Tween
cease: but at least i can drive in the day time. that works for me
PassTheTweenPlease: One Time One Night (in America - Los Lobos :)
Merlyn: how far is the drive, cat?
Elayne: My Thanksgiving dinner is here: http://elayneriggs.blogspot.com/2009/11/thanksgiving-2009-as-only-american-in.html
Bambi: sounds good E
Merlyn: I'll be getting into Seattle about 2 PM, not sure when I can get to the hotel
Merlyn: 2 PM friday that is
cease: several hours
Merlyn: about 120 miles, cat
cease: if i leave here around noon, i can get there byefore then
Merlyn: so yeah, like 4 hours or so
cease: on the highway, thats a short ride. whidby is no fuckin highway
Merlyn: get one of those amphibious vehicles
cease: partic in january
cease: lol
cease: maybe a tnak
llanwydd: I like the word "embiggen". don't think I've ever seen it before
cease: speaking of doc tech, i tried to call him last weekend and have sent serval emails to find out if he would be into coming out for this, but no contact
Elayne: Llan, it's fairly standard in the blogosphere. Wish I'd coined it, it's a neat neologism.
Elayne: I'll try to ring him up, Cat.
Merlyn: it's a perfectly cromulent word
cease: maybe they're out of town?
llanwydd: had a little trouble though. I could get the blog for a moment and then I get an error message
cease: but that woulndt affect cell, eh?
Elayne: Should go, I'm going to try to do a blogaround before I sleep. When I see y'all next week I'll be a year older. Time travel gives me a headache!
llanwydd: just my msn, probably
Elayne: Night all.
cease: hes probalby too busy with work to take a weekend off for firesign
||||||||| At 9:49 PM, the lights go out! Rocky Rococo's voice pierces the inky darkness: "I've got you now, Elayne!" Shattering glass is heard, and then the lights come back on...
cease: happy birthday el
llanwydd: Nite Elayne
ah,clem: happy birthday e!
Merlyn: back in a few minutes cat; when I called the motel, it sounded like they wouldn't have email access until after the holiday weekend, so I'll check on any changes that we might need to make for 2 people. They do have a rollaway available, I'll ask about it.
cease: jsut like our seatle room, merl
llanwydd: I'm having some trouble so I'm going to log out for a moment and come back
cease: goodbye and hello, llan

cease: would have been nice.
ah,clem: too late to change the playlist
cease: on the ossman thanksgiving thread on facebook, i told ossie that i thought Shadow was the best thing ever done by a human being. and then i really started to compliment it
||||||||| Catherwood leads llanwydd2 inside, makes a note of the time (10:00 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
ah,clem: and I am tired, will get through this, and tht's it for tonight
cease: thakns for this, clem
PassTheTweenPlease: Long day, eh clem? lol

cease: recoonect is not the right word
cease: to become aware of again, but not by choice?
cease: the only cool thing was, i remember being in a debate that was taped in highschool for some reason
llanwydd2: I wish I had made more films. I could connect with the past better
cease: and my opponent sounded a bit like elmer fudd. it was hilarious art the time and the tape went on to delight many of my fellow 12th graders
llanwydd2: interesting. my all time best stage performance was taped in high school. I'd like to find out if it still exists
cease: i had forgotten all about it until i saw his ane as one of the peope in the highschool chat
