||||||||| A time machine materializes at 9:14 AM and Firebroiled sashays out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
Firebroiled: I want you to pick those plates and eat of those condiments, then I want you to fill your bodies and your mouths and your minds with the thoughts and realities of food. Dear Friends, Jesus said, “Let’s us be as children.” And what do children do? They stuff themselves from day to night. They eat. They fill themselves with the reality of existence, my friend. The one common bond that holds the world together. The bond of food, the need for food, the void of emptiness. We must fill it and fill us with the fullness of it.
||||||||| Firebroiled rushes out the back door as Mayor P'nisnose blasts through the front door holding a shotgun and shouting "Where's Firebroiled?! It's 9:15 AM and my ballot boxes haven't been stuffed yet!"

||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Merlyn gets out at 8:48 PM.
Merlyn: Not sure when I'll be in, I'm going to Convergence to see if Ossman is there and if there's any sound effects to do
||||||||| Merlyn leaves at 8:49 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and ah,clem falls out at 8:52 PM.

Dr. Headphones: even minor stuff in the hospital can be a drain on your strength.
Honey: stay out of dodgy toilets, clem

Hemlock Stones: i signed a peace treaty with the bus driver
cease: sounds like bride of firesign plot
Dr. Headphones: cat: great improvement. i will retain my CDL (commercial driving license) just in case i might need it again in the future, but my driving is 25 miles one way to work and 25 miles back each day. before, i was getting 2500-3000 mi/wk
Dexter Fong: Cat: I think Ossman is absent from this show
Dr. Headphones: dex: that reminds me of the woman in comedy sketch who said she lost an ovary, then found it under the couch covered in dust
Honey: jiminy creekets!! dr
cease: great news
cease: i have rather bleek news from north van
Dexter Fong: What's up Cat?
cease: father had heart attack on sunday.

Dr. Headphones: sorry to hear that. is he improving now?
Hemlock Stones: news from the north is alwasy bleak
Dexter Fong: What's the prognosis Cat?

cease: even though i'm paying 6500$ a month for their "care"
Honey: damn!!
cease: good to hear kend
Dr. Headphones: damn, at that price, put him in hotel and hire a butler!
cease: and a few french maids!
Honey: no kidding, cat
Dr. Headphones: at 90, one french maid would probably be too much
cease: but hs unit is one meter (yard to you yanks) away from the nursing station
cease: a hotel wouldnt have that
Hemlock Stones: he could still make president and it would be cheaper
Honey: pour me an absinthe, catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood gets Honey an absinthe.
cease: what firesign is this?
cease: lol kend
Dr. Headphones: absinthe is illegal in US if it contains the essence of wormwood

cease: but then i have so much its hard to tell
Hemlock Stones: even more so
cease: ive never tried absinthe. maybe it owuld make me appreciate toulouse latrec
Dexter Fong: It makes you shorter
Mudhead: its just a mild hllucenigenic
Hemlock Stones: is that inflationary pressure Fong ?
Dr. Headphones: speaking of toulouse-latrec, i got email promising me pictures of sexually active midgets. i passed on that opportunity....
Dexter Fong: Stones: Nearly
Hemlock Stones: its no fun if they dont send you the magnifying glass Dr
cease: dont crush that midget hand her the condom
Dr. Headphones: hell, it's been so long since i've seen the human female body, i might need a refresher course if i encounter one again
Hemlock Stones: may all your problems be small ones
Mudhead: like ridin a bike doc
ah,clem: perhaps I should send you some schematics, Dr.
Honey: if theres anything i can do to help dr....................
Hemlock Stones: well when you've seen one nipple, you've seen two
Dr. Headphones: mud: sold the bike years ago, out of practice on that also. i guess i'm just gettin' old, huh?
cease: no, my father is old. you arent
Dr. Headphones: hemlock, well, i disagree. i have friend in florida who had single mastectomy, so i couldn't see double with her.
ah,clem: unless it was at the beach, Mr. Stones, lol
Hemlock Stones: i went out with the town bike for a while, she was terrible in bed but i always got a ride home
Dr. Headphones: i don't know any bicycle jokes
Honey groans
Dr. Headphones: honey and groats. mmmm, good stuff
Dexter Fong: Kend^ Well spoken
cease: is this lawyers hospital?
Dexter Fong: Yes Cat
Dr. Headphones: better than a doctor's bar by a long shot

Hemlock Stones: what my client Mr Fong actually meant to say was No, cease
ah,clem: firesign radio 1983, a mix
cease: oh i see. a mix of what?
Dexter Fong: Cat: This isn't an album, it's a radio show
cease: lawyers hospital is an album. unfortunately
Dr. Headphones: what perfidy is this that knod and BB are fading away to nothingness?
Honey: knod yer knodding
Hemlock Stones: its what they used to call democrasy i think Dr
Dexter Fong: ADD
cease: ive spent far too much time in the hospital this week.
cease: it took 6 hours to admit father on sunday. we sat around the traige room as it filled up and then emptied out of the truly damaged
Dr. Headphones: i'm reading "american theocracy" by kevin phillips. a really good book but it's dry as a popcorn poot
cease: nurses have certainly risen in my esteem and they were highly regarded to begin with
Dr. Headphones: nurses are the real unsung heros and heroines of the medical profession
cease: i just ead al gores new book. it doesnt say anytying new, but what is says is very well said
Bubba's Brain: Sorry, I'm watching a movie. Plus for some resaon my screen goes blank (gray) for several seconds every time it refreshes. So I've not been posting much.
Bubba's Brain: THus the fade
cease: hey that reminds me, anyone got a book (or more than one) to reccommend?
Dr. Headphones: we will forgive you *this* week ;)
cease: i'm looking at long plane ride in a few weeks.
Mudhead: im close to fading
Dr. Headphones: greg palast's "armed madness" if you like the dirt on the US and/or GWBush
cease: as well as 2 weeks in a country rather devoid of english books
||||||||| Catherwood tiptoes into the room, and pipes up "Announcing 'TweenGuy MotorDetective', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 9:37 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the Aviary...
cease: i have that kend and reviewed it on my blog, which as you know is at

Dr. Headphones: you got some 'splainin' to do
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Ms. Sanchezzz
Hemlock Stones: hey knod, reading the name of the store is even cheaper
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Hey Dr. H - good to see ya
cease: Klok would be the best person to ask for book reccomendations but hes not here
Dr. Headphones: i thought about klok today. alas....
Hemlock Stones: takes of hat to Klok
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Might be difficult to ask him, at this point...
Dr. Headphones: tween: i actually have a life again. internet connection turned on today, i'm never working on thursday night.
Hemlock Stones: Hey Tween did you enjoy the book i sent you ?
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Haven't listened to it yet, but it's in the cue. Interesting topic.
Dr. Headphones: ok, cat, got your page opened in another tab. will peruse it later
cease: nick danger meets et? i got that from dex
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Kewl, Dr H
Dr. Headphones: this one is DSL, slower than the cable i had before but lots better than dialup
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Where in Grid's name did you get this stuff on the radio, clem?
ah,clem: just trying to keep things interesting...
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Oh yeah, DSL smokes dial-up
TweenGuy MotorDetective: _very_ interesting, clem
Dr. Headphones: old chinese curse (slightly modified): may your life contain interesting audio
Hemlock Stones: we dont have cable out here in the sticks
Dr. Headphones: we don't have sticks out here so count yourself lucky
ah,clem: what about the eires?
Dr. Headphones: anyone heard from doctec/lili lately?
Hemlock Stones: understood Dr, we are down to the last few twigs but we still got plenty of Stones
cease: lazy leg in the eire?
Mudhead: not I, last I heard was he had a new job
TweenGuy MotorDetective: You actually in Denton, Dr H?
||||||||| Catherwood trudges in at 9:45 PM, dragging Elayne by one leg and asks "Can anyone vouch for this idiot?"
Dexter Fong: afk for refill
Dexter Fong: Hi Elayne
Elayne: Evenin' all
Mudhead: hiya E
Hemlock Stones: Hi Elayne
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Hey dere Elayne...
Bubba's Brain: E!
cease: hey el
Dr. Headphones: tween: nope, still in michigan. don't know why that shows up that way
Dr. Headphones: howdy, E
Honey: another absinthe catherwood and add a shot of nyquil, please
||||||||| Catherwood walks up to Honey and inquires "Would you like something?"
Honey: hi el :)
cease: hows your health today, el?
Elayne: Absinthe and Nyquil? How can you tell the flavors apart?
TweenGuy MotorDetective: brb
Elayne: High stress day, Cat. Also various body aches. Menopause sucks.
Dr. Headphones: i had a cherry wheat beer not long ago. interesting combo
Honey: i cant but it makes the hallucinations slower
Bubba's Brain: Absynthe makes the heaqrt grow fodder.
Dr. Headphones: alfalfa on the aorta?
Hemlock Stones: i like interesting combos Dr, what do they play ?
cease: had a bellevue kreik, great belgian cherry beer with pork at a belgian restaurant a frequent downown a couple days ago
cease: fantatic combination.
Dr. Headphones: lol, stones! one of my fav combos is brubeck's. i know fong will dispute me on this comment, but paul desmond has the best tone of any saxophonist ever
Honey: sounds interesting
Dr. Headphones: the beer has pork in it or you ate that on the side?
cease: i ordered the cherry beer with the pork meal
Mudhead: Cherry Beer with PORK?
Hemlock Stones: Fong wouldnt dare
Dexter Fong: Kend^ I wouldn't neccessarily dispute that
cease: only us plus doenst need to have pork in it.
Honey: belgium cherry pork beer and sauerkraut
Dexter Fong: That's cause the pork is built in
Honey: it's in there!
Elayne: Hey, who owns the idea of cherry pork beer?
Mudhead: those free trade Belgiums
Mudhead: they'll sell anthing
Mudhead: or just give up
Dr. Headphones: i did hear about a guy who brewed beer by using unbaked pizza dough for the yeast. it had pepporoni and tomato flavor
TweenGuy MotorDetective: This was recorded in the late 70's? Didn't know they had a radio show then
TweenGuy MotorDetective: Early 80's even
Hemlock Stones: for some reason i feel faintly nauseus
TweenGuy MotorDetective: US+ has their own brand of beer now?
Mudhead: always have
Honey: but of course
Dr. Headphones: nauseus was the greek demi-god of the stomach
Mudhead: Bear Whiz was bought by US+
TweenGuy MotorDetective: No pork-favored beer for you, Stiones?
cease: no i definitely dont have this
Elayne: Oh, speaking of owning things: http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/ You will not regret it.
Dr. Headphones: pig whiz beer?
Mudhead: I think they should buy Dickens Cider. Its always good to get a Dickens Cider.
cease: lol mud
Elayne: Technophiles in particular will appreciate Fake Steve.
Honey: catherwood bring me a snifter of pork beer and old grandad, please
||||||||| Catherwood gives Honey a snifter of pork beer and old grandad.
cease: speaking of tech, i may or may not have actually posted my first vids to youtube today
Dr. Headphones: mud: took me a minute, but i finally *got* it ;)
Mudhead: loler
cease: doc is hopefully adding them to the bitsite as we speak

cease: good to hear all your good news
Elayne: Take it easy, Dr. H! Get lots of shut-eye.
Mudhead: g'nite Ken
Dexter Fong: Jeeze Kend^
Dr. Headphones: later, mi amigos
Dexter Fong: So soon, yet, already?
Honey: nitey nite, dr. headphones congrats on slimming down the carbon body print :)
||||||||| Dr. Headphones rushes out the back door as Mayor P'nisnose blasts through the front door holding a shotgun and shouting "Where's Dr. Headphones?! It's 9:55 PM and my ballot boxes haven't been stuffed yet!"
cease: theres never enough good news
Hemlock Stones: Hi Clem
Mudhead: I'll just take the frame
cease: make it an A-Frame
Honey: or a zimmer rame
Honey: frame
Mudhead: I've been framed!
Mudhead: You wont catch me copper
Mudhead: Top o the world mom!
Dexter Fong: How do I like my savior know?
Dexter Fong: now?
Mudhead: I dunno, how do you?
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Dexter Fong: Less and less Mudhead
Hemlock Stones: must be a rhetorical question
cease: gettin off at my f-stop
Dexter Fong: Mud was giving us some Jimmy C and I added some Eddie G
Elayne: Depends on what you mean by "savior"...
cease: did you blog Studio 60 out of the door, el?
Mudhead: no, thats a henway
Dexter Fong: Ah Ernie H
Elayne: No Cat, Lance did the last week himself, but Ken Houghton and I were like the Kibbitzing Twins on his comment section. I think we're going to take our act on the road...
Elayne: Lance is looking for suggestions on what show the blognoscenti can live-blog next season. So far I haven't a clue.
||||||||| Catherwood leads Hideo Gumpatweenyo inside, makes a note of the time (10:06 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Dexter Fong: Hi Hideo
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: My browser crashed in OS 9 - didn't like YouTube
cease: this sounds like ossman being corwin
Hemlock Stones: i think Tween regenerates more often than Doctor Who
Elayne: Hey Tween.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Hello E - how's life treatin' ya?
Elayne: I just watched the last couple episodes of Dr. Who'
Elayne: I just watched the last couple episodes of Dr. Who's "third" season...
cease: i am almost unaware of dr. who
Elayne: Pretty good stuff, but David Tennant is like major eye candy to me.
Elayne: I think you'd like it a lot, Cat.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: As a Dr Who fan, how does the new series compare to the old one?
Hemlock Stones: i think its actually better, better cast, better production too
cease: i understand its been on for decades. fave of the beatles
Elayne: Well, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Peter Davison and Tom Baker, but the 21st century Doctors have updated well.
Elayne: The writing is pretty spot-on, all the "Mary Sue" stuff is still there for those of us who like that sort of thing, and they're playing around with some nice concepts.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Just glanced at it briefly. Looks pretty well-done
Hemlock Stones: Tom Baker certainly had the best voice and still does lots of voiceover as a result
||||||||| It's 10:10 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| TweenGuy MotorDetective - dead from the fiddlers
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
cease: some one who keeps reincarnating? like Kenny?
Elayne: They also have a good deal of respect for their long-term audience, which is always nice to see.
Elayne: Best of all, in England it's treated as an all-ages/kids show.
Hemlock Stones: yes cease, hes supposed to be a Time Lord and therfore immortal
Hemlock Stones: yes, theres no sex, but plenty of excitement, tech and some sentiment, but anyone can watch an enjoy it, Honey enjoyed it i think
Elayne: I'm one of those "Who'ers" from way back who seems to remember the Doctor is only "allowed" 13 regenerations...
Elayne: Makes me wonder what they're going to do after the next three actors. Probably put in some sort of deus ex machina...
Honey: dr who???
Honey: oh yes
Elayne: What I find interesting now is that the show has actually spawned a successful spinoff series.
Dexter Fong: Nurse What?
Elayne: Torchwood is kind of the PG-13 version of the Dr. Who'niverse...
Hemlock Stones: Torchwood shares some characters
Elayne: Unfortunately we live in the Land That BBC America Forgot, so I've never seen that series.
Honey: you can see it online elayne on http://www.quicksilverscreen.com el
Hemlock Stones: at that link you might find examples of both series
Honey: i have watched the series there
Elayne: Wow, Honey, I opened a hell of a pop-up when I clicked on that page! Not sure I want to use it.
Honey: hmmmmmmmmm
Honey: you dont have to accept the x-box 360
Hemlock Stones: http://quicksilverscreen.com/show/23
Honey: its an ok site
Hemlock Stones: i have used it often, all you get is the occasional cookie
Elayne: Looks a bit dodgy. I'm on the "Show 57" screen, and at least a couple links are already dead.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: You need Firefox w/the Adblock extension
Honey nods
Elayne: Well, I'll bookmark it for now, but skeptically. :)
Hemlock Stones: if you use firefox you can download it
Honey: login and join the forum, el
Elayne: I alwayse use Firefox.
Honey: it makes it so much easier
Hemlock Stones: theres a rapid changeover of movies and series due to the nature of link sites
Elayne: I don't have time for any fora, Honey. I hardly have time for Firesign chat any more!
Elayne: I need a new job, so I can start relaxing again.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Do you have the Adblock extension installed? It's great...
Honey: there you can find stuff not offered to the general public you dont have to post at all
Elayne: No, Tween, URL please?
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: a moment...
Mudhead: wanna visit for the fireworks this year Elayne?
Elayne: Hang on, need to pet cat...
Mudhead: July 14 Annual Sailfest New London, CT
Mudhead: you can take one of the casino buses
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Adblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10
||||||||| Bambi bounds in at 10:19 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: They celebrate Bastille Day in CT?
Hemlock Stones: Hi Bambi
Dexter Fong: Hi Bambi
||||||||| Catherwood steals into the room, and snorts derisively "Announcing 'doctec', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 10:19 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the Aviary...
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Evenin' Bambi :-)
Hemlock Stones: hi Doc
doctec: am i here yet?

Mudhead: hiya doctec
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Wonder where Princ P is tonight?
Mudhead: I was just thinkin of ya
Dexter Fong: Hi Doc
Elayne: Hi Bambi!
doctec: i'm in the living room watching a dvd of n.c.i.s. with lili - i am marvelling at this matchbook sitting near her keyboard...
Bambi: I had two calls this week from Ken and missed them both but he left a message so he's doing well and a new job on his horizons!
Honey watches stones write it down in his little book, surreptitiously
cease: hi bambi
Hemlock Stones: up to no good if you ask me Tween
knod: wish i was there in CT
Mudhead: You n Lili wanna come up for fireworks on the 14
Bambi: hi there!!
Mudhead: ya
doctec: outside, in red block letters / white bg: "NIXON"S THE ONE!" ... inside, same color scheme: "THIS TIME, VOTE LIKE YOUR WHOLE WORLD DEPENDED ON IT."
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: But that's his job, Stones ;-)
Bambi: lol Dex ... glad you figured it out :-)
Bubba's Brain: Hey Doc.
cease: hey its doc
cease: this sounds like al gore as norman corwin
Hemlock Stones: and very well he does it Tween
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: omg, Doc - a closet Republican?
Elayne: Thanks Tween, I hope my other computers install Adblock as well. I have Foxmarks to synchronize my bookmarks, but I don't know if it syncs extensions as well.
Bambi: interesting match book to be sure Doc LOL

Elayne: I'm so glad my kitty finally had that dental work. I hadn't trusted this vet previously but he seems to have done a great job. Datsa doesn't flinch any more when someone pets him on the head, and that's amazing.
Hideo Gumpatweenyo: I have Foxmarks installed, but haven't really used it yet
Elayne: Yes Tween, I have Firefox on all my computers, and Foxmark to sync them all.
doctec: mh: sounds like fun - a lot will depend on the degree of direness of our financial state on the 14th tho - so no promises. things aren't looking particularly good at the moment but i just got a bunch of stuff up on ebay, with any luck we'll get what we need from the auctions
Elayne: One Foxmark to sync them all, and in the darkness bind them!
||||||||| Catherwood escorts porgie inside, makes a note of the time (10:24 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.

Hideo Gumpatweenyo: Good Grid, Bambi - I hope they had a gun when they handed you the bill...
Honey: no kidding i can only imagine, bambi
cease: my mother was complaining about absence of nursing care for my father in hosptial htis aft
Bambi: yeah, it's worse highway robbery than printer cartridges (from today's http://www.bambismusings.com) LOL

||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
Bunnyboy: Maybe a hurricane moved your provider to SC?
Sir Real: Yeah, maybe
Bunnyboy: Could be a similiar glitch. Sorta like going down the daisy-chain of servers.

Sir Real: And so we bid another fare thee well to those working the room. Nice chat and perhaps a play within itself. But as all nights do they fade into doc ness and the lights fade to black. If I were blind would I even care? I hope so. Those things, yes those things that go bump in the night are me. Good night dear friends until next week can we say, hello?
Sir Real:
Sir Real: (Clicks the lights off and locks the door)
||||||||| At 11:46 PM, Sir Real vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Merlyn gets out at 12:31 AM.
Merlyn: I just flew in from Convergence and boy are my sound effects tired.
||||||||| Merlyn says "Catherwood, call me a cab." After the obvious joke, Merlyn exits at 12:31 AM.
||||||||| Catherwood enters, and announces to all and sundry "It's 4:32 AM, time to change the log file and clean out unused rooms; please exit the chat room for a minute or two. Thank you for your patience."
