Special appearance by
Phil Austin

||||||||| Catherwood re-enters the Waiting Room and explains "This is the main discussion room which is logged each night."
||||||||| Catherwood announces, "The time is 4:33 AM - I now declare Thursday's chat log for April 13, 2006 officially open!"... and then, he retires back to the vestibule...
||||||||| Catherwood ushers Firebroiled into the room, accepts a jar of pennies as a gratuity, mumbles something about 8:43 AM, then departs.
Firebroiled: As you will remember from the last episode, Mark Time, Star Dectective of the Circum-Solar Federation, and his Rocket-Jockey sidekick Westley Bunny, have been taken as prisoners to the subterranean ice caverns on Jupiter, where the Warlord, Prince Arcturus, keeps his court and council. Let’s join them! Ready? Here we go through Time Warp Two-o-o-o-o-o ! !
||||||||| Firebroiled is forcibly ejected just as the clock strikes 8:43 AM.
||||||||| Catherwood stumbles in at 5:32 PM, dragging Bubba's Brain by one leg and asks "Can anyone vouch for this Yahoo ™?"
Bubba's Brain: I shan't be in tonight.
Bubba's Brain: RIP, Pixel, 1999-2006.
Bubba's Brain: http://lodestonecatalog.com/img/pixel1.jpg
||||||||| Bubba's Brain leaves at 5:34 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
||||||||| Outside, the 6:19 PM downtown bus from Minnesota pulls away, leaving Merlyn coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Merlyn: I probably won't be in tonight either, as I will be at Minicon rehearsals with Harlan Ellison
||||||||| Merlyn departs at 6:20 PM, singing "Toad away, toad away; toad away, toad away! Where do you go when you're toad away?"
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood snorts derisively: "7:39 PM and late as usual, it's DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist, just back from Texas."
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Just another government Roadkill...
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Later, gators...
||||||||| Around 7:44 PM, DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist walks off into the sunset...
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood pipes up: "8:47 PM and late as usual, it's Hemlock Stones, just back from Billville."
||||||||| Catherwood tiptoes into the room, and announces "Announcing 'boney', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 8:57 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the anteroom...
boney: Merlyn is a Harlan dropper.
||||||||| It's 9:00 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Hemlock Stones - dead from measles
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
boney: http://mnstf.org/minicon/
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, April 13, 2006 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!"
boney: Merlyn, please ask Al Franken if he's running for Senate in Minnesota. As long as you're there...
boney: He hasn't thrown his hat into the ring in this blog. http://midwestvaluespac.org/category/Als-Channel/
boney: There are at least three Official Al Franken Web Sites.
boney: One. http://www.lyingliar.com/
boney: Two. http://www.al-franken.com/
boney: All of 'em are different. Not mirrors. Three. http://www.airamericaradio.com/alfrankenshow/
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Bambi disembarks at 9:32 PM.
Bambi: hi boney
||||||||| Catherwood strides up and snorts derisively "Presenting 'DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist', just granted probation at 9:32 PM", then leaves hurriedly.
||||||||| Catherwood stomps in at 9:32 PM, dragging seamus macllanwydd by one foot and asks "Can anyone vouch for this bozo?"
||||||||| Catherwood enters with doctec close behind, mutters something about disrupting his 9:32 PM tree-stunting plans, and dashes off to the Aviary.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Howdee...
seamus macllanwydd: just us?
doctec: just us
doctec: justice
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Justice? It's just us ;)
boney: Hey
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Welcome to side four...
Bambi: hi tweeny and llanwydd and doc
doctec: i'll take a side of that
seamus macllanwydd: and just us for all
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Catherwood, Doc wants a side of that with his fish & ships.
||||||||| Catherwood pretends not to hear DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist
doctec: man i am fried tonight - i had to run an errand that normally takes only an hour and a half - i got stuck in holiday traffic, it took 3.5 hrs to complete my mission
||||||||| Outside, the 9:35 PM crosstown bus from Elmertown pulls away, leaving Mudhead coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Hey Mud...
Mudhead: ack, ack
boney: Merlyn is in Minnesota at Minicon with Harlan Ellison. He's a fan attending a sci-fi convention--yet has a life. A paradox.
doctec: lost much of the afternoon
Mudhead: those fumes are gettin smokiewr
Bambi: catherwood please pour me a toasted almond
||||||||| Catherwood gets Bambi a toasted almond.
Bambi: hi mudhead
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: May the farce be with him...
doctec: boney: i'm taking baby steps - joined table talk today
Mudhead: hiya Bambi
Mudhead: no cni yet?
Bambi: well, hi Merlyn in Minnesota ... when you get back :-)
doctec: someday, i'll dive into the well - give me a little time, i'm like the kid who dips his tow in the pool and can't take the cold
boney: Yet he has a life. A paradox, Captain. [rewrite]
seamus macllanwydd: catherwood pour me a toasted cashew
||||||||| Catherwood gives seamus macllanwydd a toasted cashew.
doctec: cni just started - lili turned it on
Mudhead: I'll raise yur pair of docs
Bambi: it's up now mudhead
doctec: she is bummed i am chatting and not playing scrabble with her, even though we played three - yes, three - games the day before yesterday
Mudhead: i need a link plz
boney: Looking for signs of intelligent life in Minneapolis
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: And meet your Jordache.
seamus macllanwydd: catherwood, pour mudhead a link
||||||||| Catherwood gets mudhead a link.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Truman.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Except for that little teeny atomic thing...
boney: catherwood, get doctec a life
||||||||| Catherwood gets doctec a life.
||||||||| Catherwood ushers ah.clem inside, makes a note of the time (9:39 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
doctec: i have been asked by cease to let everyone know he's at a restaurant with friends having dinner tonight and won't be able to make it to chat
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Sorry, that was the man from Missouri...
Bambi: http://www.cniradio.com/cniradio.m3u or http://216.234.115.10:8000/listen.pls (both clickable) or copy and paste this address: http://216.234.115.10:8000/ to a media player :-)
seamus macllanwydd: hey, clem
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Evenin' Clem...
Bambi: ah,Clem will be here soon :-)
seamus macllanwydd: wonder what he's having
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Cease deserves a break.
Bambi: very bad thunderstorms ealier .. we almost didn't make it!
||||||||| New CNI streaming notice: '"a few minutes with FireSign Theatre", it just starting now...'
Bambi: ah, there's Clem now!
||||||||| Around 9:40 PM, ah.clem walks off into the sunset...
||||||||| 9:40 PM: ah.clem jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past year and a half!"
||||||||| Outside, the 9:40 PM uptown bus from Rhode Island pulls away, leaving klokwkdog coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
doctec: inclement weather messing with people's lives these days
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Yeah, the Southeast isn't exactly an nice place these daze...
Mudhead: Im there
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Bark!
Bambi: Cat ... enjoy your dinner! we'll see ya next time or if you get back in time!
Bambi: hey Klok!
Bambi: we got the package today!!
boney: Larry David may have written the immortal Get a Life sketch for William Shatner. But there were other writers.
doctec: evenin, mr. b.
klokwkdog watched massive inclement weather sail past out over the Bay. vy impressive, but i wuz spared
seamus macllanwydd: cease has the night off. Just watch, someone will log on tonight as "desist"
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Do you guys have a UPS yet? I used to live in the country and had a backup generator that'd come on automatically. Not all that expensive.
doctec: k: thank grid!
boney: Or not. Who knows?
klokwkdog: hey, bambi remind me to change that promo, Laurie Anderson style :-(
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Just to keep the refrigerator & emergency lights and such.
||||||||| New CNI streaming notice: '"a few minutes with FireSign Theatre", it's just starting now...'
doctec: ups backup units have come down in price quite a bit - compusa always has a stack of 'em, price range 80 to 200 bucks or so
Bambi: will do Klok
klokwkdog: Tweeny has outdid himself this eve. We'll need a 4-line participant header if he gets any more creative
Mudhead: well, i kept em, but they didnt have power
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Lonnie Anderson's doing promos for WKRP again, or so I hear...
doctec: i really oughta invest in one - weird power outage surge knocked out the power supplies of *both* lili's pcs last week, i had to run out to compusa and buy two replacements
klokwkdog: doctec -- yeah UPS battery back-ups are nice and CompUSA sometimes has sales on small ones down to $19.99 after rebate
ah.clem: we run several systems for the station, one ups not nearly enough....we do have one, but it is not in the studio
Bambi: I have a UPS on my computers up here ... we really need a couple more of them .. but too many other things pulling at us right now :-(
doctec: my pc was spared, although i noticed the screen was frozen and i had to reboot
||||||||| Catherwood sneaks into the room, and pipes up "Announcing 'cease', also known as 'Nancy' -- the time is 9:43 PM" -- then he slowly retires back into the vestibule...
seamus macllanwydd: having difficulty. will log out and return shotly.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: They're a lifesaver, especially if you don't back upi your data often.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Catman!
doctec: my laptop hard drive got corrupted back on 4
doctec: 4/3
Bambi: hey Cat!! you made it!
cease: hi doc, etc
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Or reuters your data, whatever...
doctec: hi cat
cease: yes i thought we were going ewqrlier than we are
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood snorts derisively: "9:44 PM and late as usual, it's llanwydd, just back from Elmertown."
llanwydd: testing
cease: our friends are meeting us at restaurant at 730 so i have an hour to hang with the firefoolk
Mudhead: hiya all...figures that takes care of it
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Two LLs?
llanwydd: much better
klokwkdog: the big problem is the battery. It's just a Gel Cell and they give up the ghost after about 3 years. And the batteries usually cost $20; they've made it easy enough to replace them, but it's a PITA to dispose of Gel Cells. My dump only takes car batteries.
Bambi: wb llanwydd
doctec: i was able to back it up (by putting it in a usb enclosure and connecting it to my desktop system) before it died completely
cease: as we were coming out of a restaurant 2 nights aog, i heard fireisng on local vancouver news channel
klokwkdog: 'lo Cat
Bambi: how's Elmertown doing? ;-)
cease: first i herd martha and the vandallas. Fumiyo was going to turn down the volume but i had her keep it on.
cease: hi klok
Mudhead: cease yur in vc town?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Yeah, ya have to spend $35-$40 every couple of years, but it's better than trying to recreate data.
cease: then it was proctor.
doctec: north van to be exact, muddy
llanwydd: thanks bambi. my iron lung is working again
cease: i think he said something about dwarf in the library of congress so he didnt have to keep it in His library anymore
cease: did anyhone else here this?
Bambi: lol llanwydd
llanwydd: here what
Mudhead: just stepped on lies
klokwkdog: no, we were all there, Cat
cease: when i was in dc last may, firesign scholar Schoolboy said he was gonna try and get the firesigns into the Library of Congress
doctec: cease: no, i missed it :0(
cease: he obvoiusly succeeded
doctec -(
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Sure wish I weas going to be at Lib of Congress for FST. Sounds like a really good time. You and JL going, Bambi?
cease: its fitting that they went into with martha. remember Martha and the Vandallas are characters in the old firesign play Tile it Like it Is
Mudhead: eww, when is this, Id love to go
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: No we. Was. Bad typing class, level II.
cease: it was 2 days go. you missed it
Mudhead: arrrggghhh
Mudhead: stoned and missed it
doctec: 4/11
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Anybody er, got a recording?
Bambi: not likely Tweeny ... too much going on here
boney: Bubba's Brain is in mourning. His cat died.
llanwydd: sounds like Martha Stewart and the Vandallas
Mudhead: awwwww
klokwkdog: cat -- is that a ceremony or just an addition to the LOC collection you are talking about?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Martha Stewart and the flight of the Valkeries.
Mudhead: thats her new prison rock group
doctec: martha stewart and the vandals?
cease: i dont know, klok
llanwydd: lol doc!
cease: i guess they performed at the library
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: What was Bubba's cat name?
boney: British blue nose and alley cat ol' Godzilla eyes... A feline of distinction.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Oh, no I ain't!!
cease: the news piece began, you dont normally sing in libraries
llanwydd: martha and the mandellas
cease: but martha and the vandallas sang today at the library of congress
doctec: (to the tune of chain gang) "that's the sound of the girls ... working on the fois - gras ..."
Bambi: learning to type with this new keyboard I got for $3 lol
cease: somene else said Dancin in the Streets was the anthem of motown
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I don't miss D.C., except for stuff like that...
||||||||| It's 9:50 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| seamus macllanwydd - dead from the yaws
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: GD's version of Dancin; is exxxxcelent...
klokwkdog: money was the anthem of Motown, just the same as all the other record labels
Mudhead: oh my goodness...not your goodness, but MY goodness
boney: British blueblood
doctec: three bucks: you get what you type for
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Look out, look, look out....
Mudhead: I type, fore there I am
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The leader of the phrack...
llanwydd: you have a monopoly on goodness, mudhead?
cease: good point, klok
Bambi: Cat ... are you going to a restaurant that you have been to before, or a new one to review
doctec: lol (phrack)
Mudhead: capitalisam at work
Bambi: it's actually a nice one .. .just teasing .. it's a belkin one
cease: no this is zen. i think i've been thre more than any other restaurant in the city.
cease: took doc there too
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Sandhurst might send Prince Harry to Iraq. I'd like to see Jenna sign up ;)
doctec: he played monomopy on a goddess, does that count?
cease: more restaurants this week than any other week since we came to vancouver
Mudhead: not past 21
cease: celelbratring my 55th birthday with one and all
doctec: yes - the zen eperience in north van, delightful
Bambi: it just feels different than my old one ... this one is quiet ... but has nice tactile feel
llanwydd: what you gonna have, cat?
doctec: experience ... sorry ...
boney: Hope Phil's dogs aren't the culprits. They were bred by deported criminals.
cease: actrually its in West Van, where the Rich People live, including my parents in 2 weeks
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Week restaurants? I would have thought that Asian cuisine would be prett good Cat :)
cease: i lvoe the raw beef. never developed a taste for the raw fish, which is probably what Fumiyo will have
Mudhead: so if someone whispers in yur ear tonight cease Happy 55th and kisses you, you wont be suprised?
klokwkdog: Zen? In Vancouver?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: 12 mil illegals. yeah, let's get a bunch of buses and...
cease: you can eat as well in vancouver as you can eat anywhere, and probably better
llanwydd: I've had raw ground lamb. That's what arabs eat
cease: west van. it's a "sushi" place with alot of fusion elements
klokwkdog: Isn't that the place where if you get the special ticket punched 12 times, you receive a free Enlightenment?
Bambi: happy double nickel Cat!! :-)
doctec: fushi
cease: i'll ask
doctec: i have to help with dinner prep now, i'll stay logged on
klokwkdog: happy birthday, Cat!
cease: i took my new web designer/gardener to the most expensive place in the city last night
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: They have a new fushi bar at the local grocery...
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Only smelted kippers, though...
cease: thanks
llanwydd: I like sushi. There's a chinese buffet near me that serves it with red caviar on it
boney: Australian cattle dogs may have a genetic dislike for British bluebloods
Mudhead: what a concentrated professional there cat
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: You bet, Cat. Another spit in the reaper's face :=)
Mudhead: many more cat
cease: and speaking of sheer extravagence, got a 50 inch HD tv a cople days ago
boney: Even those with ol' Godzilla eyes
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: If you knew sushi like I know sushi (see "They Call Me Bruce!".
Mudhead: what ya get?
boney: Most dogs don't need an excuse
cease: i should be able to hook it up to the computer, or so says the manual
Mudhead: im lookin to buy a plasma
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Does it get Tierra del Furgo?
llanwydd: Well, I auditioned for a play called "Proof" last Sunday. They called me back for a second audition this coming Monday
boney: Anyway, Bubba's Brain is formally excused from participation
klokwkdog: sounds great, Cat!
Mudhead: well, you may require an hdvi connection
cease: i was gonna get a plasma but the store said this is better
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Best of luck, LL...
cease: yes a box
Mudhead: or a new video card
llanwydd: thanks, DATS
cease: i dont know if i'm watching hd or just an amazingly sharp picture
Mudhead: im lovin 1080i
cease: youre the expert on HD klok
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: It's all going to be in one Jobs/Gates box, with content from Murdoch.
cease: did yhou see the simpsons episode recently where lenny gets a big new tv and homer cant stop watching it?
klokwkdog: not really, and my card is down at the moment
Bambi: break a leg llanwydd! I'd wish you good luck, but they say that's bad luck to do to someone going on stage so I won't
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Andrew's card isn't working.
llanwydd: would you believe I have never watched the simpsons
cease: i never knew what that meant until proc told us at the seattle show
klokwkdog: cat -- I think Plasma has better blacks, but there are screen burn-in and lifetime problems that LCD or better DLP projectors don't have
cease: there are probably people your age who've never had sex, llan
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Reasons to live on the left coast, cease...
cease: they usually dont admit it though
Mudhead: thats what the service contracts for klok
cease: yes thats what they said, klok
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: There are people of your sex who've never aged...
klokwkdog: cat - you manuel should tell you the indicator that shows whether it's receiving HD or not
Bambi: 720p is better than 1080i actually but not as big ;-) the i means interlaced
klokwkdog: www.titantv.com is a neat free registration program guide that will show you all the digital channels
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I watch movies on a 17
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
Mudhead: ive upgraded it all now except the screen
cease: i have to study it, klok
klokwkdog: so you vind out the fancouver digital station channel numbers, tune one in and during prime time, you may see HD
cease: i'm stil so blown away by the picture i havent figured out what it is or what to do with it
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I watch movies on a 17" Dell monitor connected to a Powermac B&W 450 ;(
llanwydd: no firesign rarities on ebay these days
cease: yes pbs from seattle. it's what was on at the dealers
klokwkdog: all local programming is usually analog, but by digital broadcast, it looks pretty good and the TV may contain circuitry to improve that further
Mudhead: I know, even regular tv is helped
klokwkdog: but a good clue is that if the picture is 16:9 widescreen, it's likely HD
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Dave's not here...
klokwkdog: local stations cannot afford the equipment, the sets, or talent cosmetic enough for HD
llanwydd: where have I heard that one
klokwkdog: neither can the networks, apparently
Mudhead: cable here has 21 channels in hD
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The guys who walk around in computer wardrobe with visor-displays are pretty cool. Wish I had one sometimes ;)
Mudhead: Im lovin the science and Discovery
klokwkdog: I get a different perspective on a 19" monitor only 10" from my eyes -- they're going to have to create synthetic anchors and actors, like Annanova or in Looker to get around this (or stop doing close-ups)
cease: yes thats what i lok forward to watching
cease: nova and stuff
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: There's a possibility that cable will be privatized to the point that there's no local access stations. Bad idea.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: One of the few reasons I miss TV. Nova.
Bambi: I was finally able to find Looker on VHS ... it kinda fell of the face of the planet ... wasn't on DVD and only could get used VHS of it a year or two ago.
klokwkdog: if you are watching on cable, you need to check with the cable company -- you may need an HD adapter to see HD cable programs (if they have them)
Mudhead: the big commercial operators dont like givin away what they get for free
klokwkdog: I'm stuck with broadcast reception via aerial
cease: im not interested in close ups of faces, but am very interested n the close up of saturn's rings
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: We own the airwaves. We own the land where the cables are run.
Mudhead: Ive now installed a1080i capture card
Bambi: but it was a very nice VHS of it for $8 at half.com
klokwkdog: Cat -- not to be fascetious but those are best seen on the Cassini-Huygens site :-(
klokwkdog: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/cassini/main/index.html
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Sounds very nice, Mud. What's your basic hardware/OS?
Mudhead: P4 3.06 1Gb PC3200 1.18TB
cease: thanks, klok
llanwydd: there's a big commotion about a public access channel in Vermont. A guy is broadcasting hate speech, death threats and worse. The station owner says he can't do anything and the whole town is up in arms
Mudhead: I dualboot XP and MediaCenter 05
Bambi: how's your face lift on the Mac doing Tweeny?
doctec: back for just a bit
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: From what I've heard, the P4 is fast...
klokwkdog: Cat -- NP. Our American tax money at (and a few pennies from Europe) on behalf of all you aliens...
Mudhead: Im able to capture, watch a show, and record a show from a diff cable channel
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Tiger's code has made this old 450 G3 into a new machine, Bambi. Unbelievable speed improvements.
cease: manual says i need a 15Pin (D-Sub) cable to conncet this pc to it
llanwydd: the aliens will have to register
Mudhead: Im lookin for a nice pair of monitors
cease: theni wcan watch those pix on the big tv
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: For the computer, or mixing, Mud?
doctec: i've a 3.4 ghz p4 in my hp laptop - 1 gb memory, 60 gig 7200 hd (which just died - sigh - i think i wore it out! - good thing i was able to get a full backup off it just before it sh*t the bed)
Mudhead: actually both Tweeny
cease: hi doc. did you hear about our new tv?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Mud - www.sweetwater.com
klokwkdog: Cat -- space gear is extremely hard to build/verify. Mars Rover cameras are only 1 megapixel. I don't think Cassini is much better than that; unlike the MERs, they can't stand still and shoot a panorama (although Mission Control can possibly synthesize composites)
cease: the group, sweetwater?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: They're up to date on the latest, and they've got great prices.
doctec: and i have a bunch of drives in external usb enclosures - about a terrabyte or so, i guess
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Sweetwater Sound, Ft. Wayne, IN. Don't let the address fool ya.
Mudhead: i usually readup on it, and then hit pricewatch
cease: Crystal
doctec: klok: they made that imax mars movie from (among other things) a bunch of those mars rover pix
Mudhead: but I'll look into em
Mudhead: ty
cease: Spyder, othe great tunes
llanwydd: I'd love to see Imax
Mudhead: yeah
Mudhead: 80ft
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Salespeople are great. Make you glad you met them. I've had business with them in the past.
Mudhead: kewl
klokwkdog: doctec -- CompUSA's having a "midnite madness" sale tomorrow; sometimes they have laptop HDDs on sail. I'll fwd the email; haven't looked at their flyer yet
doctec: good monirot makers: mackie, m-audio, tannoy - there are others, those are the ones that come to mind that have impressed me
Bambi: I think I'd probably get motion sick at Imax lol
llanwydd: now that I think of it, I think I saw one of the very first. It was called The New York Experience. About 1979
klokwkdog: I'd love to see that, DT. May scoot in town or to Mystic sometime to see it if there
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Hard to go wrong with anything with the JBL label.
llanwydd: I actually saw it in NYC
Mudhead: Well, im stuck on Sony equipment, Ive had goodluck, plus all the rest of it is Sony
doctec: klok: i was at compusa yesterday, they don't have much in the way of laptop hard drives at all - most are in external enclosures and thus cost more - also, nothing that spins at 7200 (crucial to good digital audio work)
cease: i was thinking of geting the 30inch HD monitor for the laptop but wont need it if i can use the tv
klokwkdog: DT -- usually, I haunt the MER site, which has just amazing pix. I use the crash picture of the heat shield as my screen background.
doctec: i ordered a 100gb 7200 hitachi drive from m-wave yesterday, it should be here no later than monday
klokwkdog: http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/home/
Bambi: ........sony...............
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Sony's amazing. They'll probably make a robot that'll come to you home and sort through your vinyl collection.
doctec: hitachi e7k100, runs quieter and cooler than their eariler 7200 rpm 2.5" models
klokwkdog: DT -- that much storage ought to hold you for a few weeks! ;-)
Mudhead: no, i gotta do it myself
cease: any word on work, doc?
Bambi: lol Tweeny
doctec: i certainly hope so klok - digital audio has a way of eating up gobs of gigs. anyway i have to take off for chow - so - ciao!
Mudhead: cya soon doc
cease: eat well, doc
doctec: cat: am finishing up bubba's cart stuff, the hunt commences shortly thereafter

Elayne: Thanks for the link, Klok. And happy birthday, Cat!!
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: How cool is it that they're putting FST in the Library of Congress? Until of course it is privatized and expurgated.

Bambi: enjoy Cat!
klokwkdog: nice blog entry on the rest. Cat
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and boney disembarks at 10:37 PM.

DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Health & happiness, E...
Principalpoop: I need concentration to be here? I am a fraud....
llanwydd: catherwood just can't read his watch tonight
||||||||| Catherwood says "It's 10:41 PM"
Bambi: night Elayne ... be well and rested!

DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Only if you're Japanese, P.
Mudhead: no, salinas to DC
Principalpoop: ahhso geisha sushi sake
llanwydd: funny, I was just browsing the amtrak site today. It's a little pricey on my side of the continent
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: High-spped rail would be a really good idea for the US. Especially when crossing spaces like TX>
Principalpoop: yes please DATS
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: And you can sip while you're on fast speedy train...
boney: Salinas to Seattle is quite scenic. Enjoy the view in privacy. So who cares if the train is slow?
llanwydd: Hi speed amtrak came though my hometown once. Just once. To show the locals
Mudhead: its slow here cuz of the bridges and the stations
boney: The Coast Starlight is a unique bargain. The Dubster just hates it. Which is another reason to do it.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: My Dad and I took the Metroliner from D.C. to NYC in 1972. We stood at the from watching the speedometer climb above 120.
llanwydd: What this country needs is free transportation
Principalpoop: where do you want to go llan?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: We've got something called the Eagle Flyer that goes from Austin to Chicago. Better part of two days, though.
Principalpoop: you are not anyplace at all
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: We squeaked at the front of the train :)
Mudhead: im two hours from Boston or new York
llanwydd: want to see the world, pp
boney: The Coast Starlight is a sleeper train. Popular in the 1940s. Noir
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The era of trains is missed.
Principalpoop: enlist hehe
llanwydd: got mail. brb
Principalpoop: the army is calling you already llan lol
Principalpoop: the suspendering
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: When Japan is making 300mph trains and we're making Hummers, kinda makes you wonder...

Principalpoop: ok ok, wait until the patrol gets back
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Houston to Dallas in 2 hours. By train. It could happen :) We're talking NASA stuff here...
Mudhead: how many miles?
Principalpoop: I cannot bend that much any more, I used to suck on my toes, when I was 2 months old
boney: Room enough for Phil and a bunkie. His wife, I presume. http://tinyurl.com/d4dtl
llanwydd: they ought to build high speed interstate subways
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Don't know, offhand, but east to west TX is a 2 day trip by car.
llanwydd: they could do it too. without much difficulty
Mudhead: yup, build tunnels under the highways we got now
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Like Boston?
Mudhead: yeah, but nationwide
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: That was a joke...
Mudhead: im not jokin
Principalpoop: I think that is a super idea
llanwydd: yeah boston is a joke
Principalpoop: or put the train in the center between the lanes
Mudhead: it was the resuscitation of finances in the Northeast
Principalpoop: that is a nice train room
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The most expensive hole in the gtound anyone has ever made.
llanwydd: I tried to find a southbound lane once in boston and ended up doing the beltloop three or four times
Mudhead: aw cmon, we can do better
boney: Just right for a gumshoe
boney: A private dick, as it were
Mudhead: but we need more room onna highway, and land cosats up here are sky high
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Don't worry, Mr. Bush has set aside $11B for his Jetson Project.
llanwydd: that would be another good reason to do it mudhead
Principalpoop: 3 words, helicopters, like the jetsons
llanwydd: no land tax
boney: Our cat is celebrating his 18th birthday
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: THat'
Principalpoop: oops, what jetson project
Principalpoop: that is an old cat
llanwydd: thought it was his 55th
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: That's old for a cat :) What breed?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: 55 going on 18, as are we all ;)
boney: He's our second to live that long. In fact, none of our cats has died younger than 18.
Principalpoop: boney has peaked our interest
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Do you feed them Mr. Liverface's Cat Food?
Principalpoop: what do you feed them?
llanwydd: feed him dog
Mudhead: hot dog
boney: He's part longhair Siamese and part alley cat. May or may not have some British blueblood in him, I'm not sure
Mudhead: Lets EAT!
Principalpoop: barbara bobo
Mudhead: well, happy bday boneys cat, and many more
boney: He was a big guy in his prime. Weighed over 12 pounds.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The new apartment complex I just moved into is a freakin' stray cat farm. Oh well, soft heart for cats so I've put out some food.
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 11 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
boney: Big bones. Paws like catchers mitts.
Principalpoop: he can vote now
Mudhead: lol
Principalpoop: ahhh a puma
llanwydd: I saw a cat once with seven claws on each paw
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Yeah, mine has 8! Whatcha thing about that?
boney: Harry Claude Cat is not his real name. His name has been changed for his protection.
klokwkdog: llan -- and how many paws?
Mudhead: lol
Bambi: princep has his day in court on tonight's movie lol
boney: The cats with seven claws per paw are atomic mutants.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Kkkkkk KUT NPR Austin...
boney: Whereas our cats are all clones.
boney: Oops. I wasn't supposed to say that.
llanwydd: atomic mutants? Like invasion of the body snatchers?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Send in the clones...
Mudhead: Slither
Principalpoop: ahhh aliens
llanwydd: or more like beneath the planet of the apes?
Bambi: we had one with 6 claws ... a tiger stripe...huge male cat ... with a catcher's mitt for paws!
Principalpoop: mudhead is in court too
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Ah, paw...
Principalpoop: did he live 18 years bambi?
llanwydd: now then mr. er...head
Bambi: yes, mudhead is definitely on the stand lol
||||||||| Dr. Headphones bounds in at 11:04 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Dr. Headphones: hello, dear friends
Principalpoop: hi ken
llanwydd: hey kend
Bambi: he lived a lot of years, but don't think it was 18 years
Mudhead: hiya Dr
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Get your infocom off me, you damned dirty apes!
Principalpoop: I might be judge poop next week
klokwkdog: well, one hears about all those people having their cats de-clawed and the obvious question is what happens to all those claws? so some folks must be taking their cats in for extras or something
Dr. Headphones: how's everyone?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The Doctor is in...
klokwkdog: dunno where they get all the catcher's mitts, though
boney: Tiger stripe tabbys tend to be big. And ginger tabbys.
llanwydd: everyone's either fine or lying
Dr. Headphones: klok: i have two cats with extras, but they were born that way
klokwkdog: hey Ken!
Principalpoop: klok has a mind like a steel trap
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: How's the road treatin' ya Dr.?
Dr. Headphones: poop: the question is: is klok's steel stainless? ;)
boney: A friend of mine had a ginger tabby that beat up a German Shepard
Bambi: Hey Ken!
Principalpoop: I have a mitt like a catcher's mitt
Dr. Headphones: tween: just got home from fla this afternoon, up now in preparation for going back to work at 1am
boney: He weighed 14 or 15 pounds
klokwkdog: hey folks, thanks but I think it's rusted badly in my declining years :-(
llanwydd: By the way, who are you, DATS? Have you been here before?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Cats are underestimated. One claw swipe at a dog's nose and it's a different story...
Principalpoop: chrome, so superstitious
Bambi: wow, boney ... ours didn't take any crap either ... but mainly he brought my mother dead birds ... she wasn't very happy about it
llanwydd: either you're one of us or we're one of you
klokwkdog: Ken -- what's the story on your dad?
boney: When he slept on the landau roof of their 1970s vintage Cadillac, he dented the roof visibly
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I've seen cats and dogs be really good friends. Cool thing.
Dr. Headphones: my cats don't go out, so no birdy presents, but they love watching them from windows
Principalpoop: ahh, she loved your mom a lot, bringing her food....
Dr. Headphones: klok: quoting doctor: " he's not knocking on death's door, but he's standing on the front porch."
Bambi: (he would lay them on the front porch for her to find when she got the milk bottles in the morning)
boney: A mellow guy, luckily for us.
Bambi: I think he was looking for a bowl of milk in exchange lol
Principalpoop: one paw in the grave and the other 3 on a banana peel
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Grid FST is good. This bag?
klokwkdog: sorry to hear that, Ken, but glad you got to see him
Dr. Headphones: my dad is holding his own, but even two steps wear him out. on oxygen 100% of the time now
Dr. Headphones: yes, i will never regret that trip. not sure if i can go back later, either logistically or emotionally would be tough
Principalpoop: oops, best wishes, how many claws on each paw?
Bambi: are you still down there Ken visiting or back home?
ah.clem: good night everyone!
Bambi: ah, ok
Dr. Headphones: poop: one cat has 7/6 on front, other has 6/6, both have "normal" 5/5 on rear
Principalpoop: huh ah, clem?
Dr. Headphones: bambi: home, going back to work at 1am
klokwkdog: night Clem!
Bambi: thanks Clem!
boney: Everyone? We're all going to sleep now?
Mudhead: ah,clem is going?
klokwkdog: great show
Principalpoop: cool, mutants, but cool
Mudhead: good time ty
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Not to get outside, but there are people who really believe that death is just another stage of existence...
Dr. Headphones: polydactyly (there's a good crossword puzzle word!)
klokwkdog: CNI has 3 min lag, so clem was foreshadowing
Principalpoop: thanks and have a super week ahhhh, clem
Bambi: lol
boney: The cat in Bubba Brain's bag is soap, alas
Dr. Headphones: tween: i am one of those. so is dad, but we don't believe the same awaits us later
Principalpoop: I knew poly, it did seem like she had extra fingers
Dr. Headphones: he's southern baptist, going to meet jesus, i'm not sure, but not a "believer" in that any more
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Of course. What were you before?
Principalpoop: toad away, toad away
Dr. Headphones: what's everyone's take on the gospel of judas?
boney: All of the Dead Cat catfood has been recalled because of prions from Zion
Bambi: well, he was no saint lol
Principalpoop: waiting for the movie, on cable
Dr. Headphones: those damned prions, you've tried scrubbing them out......
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: The bible was written long after Jesus. i have no idea.
boney: nobody wants their puss to act like a mad cow
Dr. Headphones: another reason to distrust the council of nicea in 325AD/CE
Principalpoop: I like the translation where God is referred as parent rather than father
Dr. Headphones: i've never seen a mad cow. some were mildly enraged, though
klokwkdog: (switching to fallingstars.co.kr pop) Judas? They knew of it at Council at Arles, in Nicea, and rejected it. Good analysis on the radio this afternoon.
klokwkdog: Great historical item, but Church rejected it 1600 years ago; doubt they'll reinstate
Dr. Headphones: klok: the one with elaine pagels? i heard it on way home today
boney: I'd be pissed off if I was gonna be some clown's hamburger
Dr. Headphones: gnosticism removes authority from church, gives it to individuals
llanwydd: gospel of judy? in disguise?
klokwkdog: dunno, Ken, I wasn't paying much attention. It's kinda out of my purvey these days
Dr. Headphones: judy in the sky/judy in disguise
||||||||| ah.clem leaves to catch the 11:15 PM train to Funfun Town.
boney: Judy Tenuta is the Madonna of standup comedy
Dr. Headphones: say "hi" to funfun, clem ;)
Bambi: well, I hate to do it but I have to lay down ... have a great week! hope to see you saturday evening if you get a chance to stop by and have a listen to our show on CNI Radio.
Principalpoop: I like the cartoon of the two cows in bed, one says to the other, it was the same nightmare about the golden arches again
Mudhead: nite Bambi
Dr. Headphones: later, bambi, will try on saturdya
boney: That's not intended to be an insult to Judy Tenuta.
Principalpoop: have a super week bambi kiss
klokwkdog: Anyone who's upset can start their own church, like the Adventists and then Branch Davidians; add in any "scriptures" they want, like Joseph Smith's revealations
Mudhead: I made a note of it
Bambi: great Ken! looking forward to it
Bambi: nytol!!
klokwkdog: nite Bambi
Bambi waves!
Dr. Headphones: polygamy doesn't sound good to me, couldn't handle even one of them
||||||||| Bambi is thrown out the window just as the clock strikes 11:16 PM.
Dr. Headphones: catherwood, you still around?
||||||||| Catherwood steps up to Dr. Headphones and inquires "Typing my name just to rile me, eh?"
Principalpoop: bad catherwood
||||||||| Catherwood strides over to Principalpoop and asks "Did you want something?"
klokwkdog: But I don't think existing churches are going to feel any need to include everything that was rejected at Nicea or later
boney: If cows are sacred, is not Ronald McDonald a demon?
llanwydd: don't dis the mormons. I like the ones I've known
boney: in disguise with diamonds
Dr. Headphones: klok: as far as religion goes, i prefer a buffet approach, not "here's your plate, eat it"
||||||||| Catherwood trudges in at 11:17 PM, dragging Charles Throat by the hair and asks "Can anyone vouch for this yahoo?"
Dr. Headphones: hey, CT
Charles Throat: yahoo!
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: CT...
Dr. Headphones: MSN!
Principalpoop: the flying spaghetti monster solves it all
Charles Throat: ahem, let me clear myself
Dr. Headphones: drinking windex again???
Principalpoop: no vouchers, that is a gop scam
Charles Throat: what isn't?
klokwkdog: Ken - then you have to stand outside the organized bodies. It;'s like assembling your own Linux distribution (aka Gentoo) versus getting a "distribution" from Red Hat, SuSE, Mepis, etc.
llanwydd: when they unveil the Gospel According to Lenny Bruce I'll know it's a fake
Dr. Headphones: yeah, i hate having anyone tell me there's only one way

boney: squirrelly squirreled away
Principalpoop: astro turf projection
Dr. Headphones: my dad and i almost got into it about politics. i spouted off a little, he says, "that's not what my friends say." i replied, "you're hanging with the wrong crowd, then." i quickly changed the subject

Charles Throat: the earth is held up by republicans
Dr. Headphones: can you tire of chinese food? not sure i could
Principalpoop: then think of the poor chinese boney
Dr. Headphones: "held up" as in armed robbery!
llanwydd: turtles can live for 300 years
Charles Throat: think you've eaten it all? Well you're wrong again
klokwkdog: Ken -- you /know/ that's not in the Bible. We have been trying to reduce the amount of incendiary rhetoric in this chat for a few weeks now, so...
llanwydd: but they never tell you their age
Mudhead: help them help themselves, so they helped themselves
boney: Jokes about mad cat disease are out of line
Charles Throat: the good dr get is
Dr. Headphones: that's longer than anyone has ever done it before

Principalpoop: blashempy bashphully blushfuller
Dexter Fong: Dr Gettis?
klokwkdog has been reading about David Koresh and the Branch Davidians recently
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Why in Grid's name waste your time. There's much better these days.
Dexter Fong: Klok: Was Twiggy a Branch Davidian?
Charles Throat: Bushphamy = a Republican disagreeing with Bush
llanwydd: you never hear about the Root Davidians
Dr. Headphones: a strange group with strange tenets, but who's to say they were wrong? (the BATF/FBI perhaps?)
Charles Throat: ony a couple of weeks and it will all be over
Charles Throat: That's the CIA with strange Tenets
boney: Would the 4 or 5 crazed buoys mind if text transcripts all of the classic FST records were uploaded to the web?
Dr. Headphones: CT: you are insider with knowledge of future events? please clue us in to some of them
Principalpoop: never a good idea to debate legal questions at the front door with people that control the army
Dexter Fong: BTW, what happened to ah, clem and the usual radio show?
boney: Seems to me that wouldn't discourage people from buying their CDs.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: And your tax dollars are being given to Faith-Based Initiatives that make Koresh look like an amature. Oh well, November :)
Dr. Headphones: boney: we're not the right people to ask, i'm afraid
Charles Throat: My money says yes
Charles Throat: I'm afraid too
boney: I have a battered copy of the Big Book of Plays, but that doesn't have EVERYTHING in it.
Charles Throat: Me too
Dr. Headphones: it would be difficult to transcribe the rest of them
llanwydd: they published a couple of books with their scripts. I used to have them
Principalpoop: sure do it, no don't do that, I have one of those books somewhere
Charles Throat: I saw the HARDBOUND online once at a used bookshop but didn't get to it in time
boney: The Big Book of Plays is one of them, llanwydd.
Dr. Headphones: i have the weirdly cool signed script from several years ago on PBS pledge week
boney: I never had the other one.

klokwkdog: amateur
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Hardbound, with Christ Matthews II
Dr. Headphones: have thought about scannning/OCR but never have
boney: I didn't steal it, llanwydd. Wish I had.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I can spell, klok. I just can't tipe.
Charles Throat: I've listened to all the radio shows so much I've considered annotating them
Dr. Headphones: lol, tween :)
klokwkdog: don't shout i can hear you
Dexter Fong: Once again, BTW, what happened to ah clem and the radio program????
llanwydd: I have no respect for thieves
Principalpoop: you should have not worn it llan, it was for reading not wearing
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Ruff!
boney: A database of transcripts would be convenient when quoting FST during chat.
Mudhead: the shows over
klokwkdog: isn't there already a Firesign FAQ with all the things explained?
llanwydd: I think people should go to jail for stealing second base
Mudhead: at least for tonight
Charles Throat: yeah huh...hmm...
Dr. Headphones: dex: clem/bambi left a few minutes before you arrived, i came too late for show, i think
Principalpoop: what?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Gonna be hard to vote LL ;)
Mudhead: Its gonna be on again Sat at 7
boney: Presently misquoting
klokwkdog: don't say such things, Merlyn will add them to the chat as a feature the next week ;-)

DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: McCain's kissing Falwell's ring. Yuk. I thought he had something...
Charles Throat: ring muscle that is
Principalpoop: but no tongue

DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Hillary 2008? Grid give us some better choices...
||||||||| Catherwood trudges in at 11:34 PM, dragging porgie by one foot and asks "Can anyone vouch for this yo-yo?"
Dexter Fong: Tween: Me too , hell, he's just another republican

Dr. Headphones: klok: thought that was "A-19" as in jukebox selection
llanwydd: hey porgie, how's bess?
porgie: yo yall
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: What's just another Democrat these days? Forget Sanders for Senate, Sanders for Pres.
Dr. Headphones: bess? she's with harry
boney: My doctor wants to make sure that I don't have an irritated bowel and a pompous asshole
porgie: fine and miss lil loleen is fine too
Charles Throat: Kos for President, Atrios for Vice President
Dexter Fong: Kend^ Eh? 19..legal canadian drinking age

Charles Throat: yes, from Mars, I believe
llanwydd: belafondue
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: So you're voting independent, bone?
klokwkdog: Ken -- no, unless you've got an antique. They have HDDs now; the CDs in the mech are just for show. It'd be something like LBQ27 and you have to stand in line behind 25 other Bozos scanning the 1200 songs in the list :-(
Charles Throat: He didn't fill out his form
Dr. Headphones: if we don't get good choices in '08, i may consider abstaining for the first time since '72
boney: Hypnotics are a class of pychiatric medication and a class of TV commercials for pharmaceuticals
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Let's just say, a neighbor, CT...
boney: psychiatric
Charles Throat: yeah it's only the world at stake... ;)
Dexter Fong: Kend^: Any Democrat is a better choice than a republican
klokwkdog: Ken -- always write in
Principalpoop: use vinegar and water to clean up that abstain
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: This is Gornt...
Dr. Headphones: ex-wife on ambien now, she tells me
llanwydd: I've tried self-hypnosis. It's pretty relaxing
boney: ambien is a hypnotic
llanwydd: then again I'm always in a trance
Charles Throat: tequila and Lucky Strike Green for me, please
Dr. Headphones: dex: i'm sure i could come up with a counter-example, but i'm not sure anyone would read/listen to it
Principalpoop: mesmer, is he around again?
Charles Throat: how about an abacus?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I tried hypgnosis. Kept seeing a saucerful of secrets.
boney: Watch a lot of television, llanwydd?
Charles Throat: Hypgnosis is a cover up
llanwydd: not really, bone
Principalpoop: beta wave, or is it alpha, charlies waves
boney: Gnosis? I'm into The Cynics.
Charles Throat: I'm kinda into the Gnostics this week
Dr. Headphones: gnosis reminds me--i watched "hedwig and the angry inch" for the first time yesterday at friend's house. weird but good
boney: Thought that was the reason you're in a trance, llanwydd.
Principalpoop: who was the lead singer for the cynics?
llanwydd: but I've actually been really getting into TCM since I got cable
Dr. Headphones: CT: i KNOW you're right there ;)
Charles Throat: I threw out the first aluminum bat, I'll have you know
Mudhead: well, time for me to hit the hay
Mudhead: nite all
porgie: no cni tonight?
Dr. Headphones: aluminum bats don't have sonar like the flesh and blood ones, do they?
llanwydd: aren't you a potato, CT?
Principalpoop: mudhead and hay, not a pretty picture
Charles Throat: I used to be
Dexter Fong: Night Mudhead
llanwydd: nite mud
boney: Sophism is coming back.
||||||||| 11:40 PM -- Mudhead left for parts unknown.   (Entry from Nick Danger's "Idiots I Have Been Paid To Follow").
Principalpoop: night MH
Charles Throat: No one listened to me back then
Dr. Headphones: not a tim russet potato, i hope!
klokwkdog has to listen to the Goethe episode of In Our Time. Spends so much time on tech stuff that TPM and Radio 4 are about all that try to balance me out
Principalpoop: did you say something CT?
boney: Was Plato a closet sophist late in his life?
Charles Throat: Wait, I'll ask myself
klokwkdog thought Plato was a republican ;-)
boney: That's the latest revision. Not that anyone gives a good goddamn about philosophy
Charles Throat: My mind just challenged my body to a dual
Principalpoop: the thing with the cave and shadows right?
Dr. Headphones: CT: if you're like me, i ask myself questions and get the wrong damned answer
klokwkdog: it's all shadows on the wall to me now, was so long ago...
llanwydd: a dual?
boney: Historical revision is no fun if nobody cares
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I'm always watching my shadow on the wall.
Charles Throat: But you don't find out it's wrong until later, that's the bummer
Principalpoop: and my chair is mostly empty space, it appears solid due to statistics
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Just be certain it really me.
Charles Throat: Ah the cave metaphor
Dr. Headphones: what fun would it be to know you're wrong at the moment?
Principalpoop: boney, did you say that?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Ug, Mongo like Platonic references...
Principalpoop: nevermind, I don't care who said it
Dr. Headphones: do the 4 or 5 reference plato/sophocles/aristotle at all? can't remember at this juncture
boney: Did I say what, Pooper?
klokwkdog: was reading about Oliver Wendell Holmes in Wikipedia and how he showed up to enlist for the Civil War reading The Leviathan. Nobody reads Hobbes anymore, we're just left with the nasty, brutish and short version
Dexter Fong: You said it < Poopster
llanwydd: Well, I must be put to death for the evening. I'll be born again in the morning. Good nyat.
Charles Throat: Quid Malmberg in Plato?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: It's the juncture of police street and shakedown.
Dr. Headphones: i used to read calvin and hobbes
boney: Metaphysics is still in it with a chance
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Bye LL....
Dexter Fong: Nyat Llan
boney: Are?
Principalpoop: good night sweet prince
Charles Throat: Ah, down at the corner of Tuck and Roll
klokwkdog: Holmes got shot up pretty bad in the Civil War; went back twice nevertheless
Dr. Headphones: later, llan
klokwkdog: nite llan
Charles Throat: bye llan
Dr. Headphones: was oliver wendell holmes really sherlock's cousin?
Principalpoop: cosmology is where it is all happening
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Hemlock is missed. The Brit perspective is cool, as is Honey's.
Dr. Headphones: poop: i think you meant "cosmetology", didn't you?
boney: Stones shot up and decided to avoid the Civil War altogether.
Charles Throat: No that's the cosmos
Dr. Headphones: i have a british nephew-in-law now
klokwkdog: ken -- yeah, after the civil war, he helped out on some of the cases before he got into his own legal biz and his bud TD stuck him on the Supremes label
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Billions and billions...
boney: Oh, I thought you meant Oliver Hardy.
klokwkdog: saganizer!
Principalpoop: oops cometology, you have to clean the bathroom and that is reality
Charles Throat: That was when he had that big hairdo with the birdcage in it
Dr. Headphones: la cage au follies
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: No, P. Mexicans have to clean the bathroom.
Principalpoop: don't get epistomological with me young man
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Now were talking good acting. Robin Williams.
klokwkdog: seriously, had no idee about Hobbes until the 40 min. survey on IOT. Really helps a knuclehead like me come up to speed with all these libarts types taking over the world
Dr. Headphones: i'll piss when i'm ready ;)
Charles Throat: I'll have you hung in the closet
boney: They're in Korea.
Principalpoop: I know what I know and you know it I know you know.....
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: THAT's funny ;)
Charles Throat: ON WHICh SIDE?
klokwkdog: ah, nice can't help falling in love. Who's Loona? (I always liked the Lick the Tin version, but it's near-impossible to get without buying a John Hughes movie)
Dr. Headphones: klok: i've read excerpts of hobbes, some makes sense, some doesn't. but what do i know.......
Principalpoop: a chicken has most feathers on the outside
boney: Saddam Hussein suspiciously resembles a certain Senior Gomez.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Koreans are in Korea. Do not judge a man by his association, or you will find yourself answering for Mr. Bush.
Dr. Headphones: a confession here: i think "breakfast" by hughes is one of the better movies of the last millennium
Principalpoop: I was thinking ringo starr, oops that was arafat
klokwkdog: Ken -- kind of freaked me out. Sounds worse than Stalin. Absolute power state. Talk about conservatives...
Charles Throat: He said it... someone write it down
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Would you rather be the victor or the victoria? None of my business ;)
Dr. Headphones: i want to know victoria's secret. no one has ever told me
Principalpoop: was that a tiffanys or britneys?
boney: If the President of the United States is a chimp, then surely he bears the sign of the Beast. Whatever that means.
klokwkdog: Ken -- Hughes movies are really pretty good, but his '80s stuff is as formulaic as any Rodger Corman stuff
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Haven't heard of it Dr. H. Synopsis?
klokwkdog: he knew how to make money
Charles Throat: victoria's secret is that she's a little slut!
Principalpoop: apokolips now

Principalpoop: ahh dengue fever, lucky bastard
Principalpoop: only 4, seemed like a lot more
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: So, it's better than Porkies II?

Charles Throat: Ah I read that, Boy's Companion series
Dr. Headphones: LOL!
boney: The End
Principalpoop: ahh boys life
Charles Throat: lol got a lolo outta the doc, 5 points
Principalpoop: and the weekly reader
klokwkdog: Molly Ringwald finally got tired of her running role in Hughes films and bugged out; Hughes was furious as he'd actually crafted Some Kind of Wonderful for her or something like that. Movie came out OK, though, I think.
Principalpoop: only 5, call a holiday
Dr. Headphones: almost anything is better than porkies II, even the exorcist II and jaws II
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: How do you pronounce that these days, P?
Charles Throat: Me II
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Ah I remember my first mistake...
boney: The founder of the Green Burrito restaurant chain could easily be Saddam's evil twin. So stick that in your Ray Kroc and smoke it
Principalpoop: that theeze daze?
Dexter Fong
boney: Or stick that in your potato and bake it
klokwkdog: Saddam was a US puppet
Principalpoop: alligator burgers, less fat, and we are killing monsters instead of nice cows
Dr. Headphones: saddam was a marionette, not a puppet
klokwkdog: our best bud until he ran off the rails, then became Devil incarnate
klokwkdog: waiting for that hat trick to fall on Musharrif
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Indonesia was a close second, if you want to say was...
Charles Throat: Yeah well you're a clockwork dog
boney: sock puppet theatre?
Dexter Fong: the devil you say
klokwkdog: LOL Ken
Charles Throat: is better than the devil you don't say
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Actually, Iraq was a Brit invention. It's not looking good. More like 3 separate states.
Principalpoop: me laddies, my eyelids were held open
klokwkdog: Sukarno was a US puppet; we replaced him with Suharto
Dr. Headphones: well, dear friends, i think it's time for me to go get ready for work. going to london (kentucky, not UK)
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Musharrf's days are numbered.

Principalpoop: I carrot lot about this
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: City Limits? Great show. Haven't had TV for over a year.
boney: Austin is hotter than hell
Charles Throat: Boney, is that a knock on your door?

Principalpoop: austin powers, I saw part of that on cable
klokwkdog: tween -- RU in a 12-step program?
boney: Charles, how can you hear what I think?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Just what's available on broadband. Democracy Now. Freespeech.org.
Principalpoop: google news says katie couric is going to CBS, the world must be in an uproar
Charles Throat: I miss Austin - lived there in the 80's
klokwkdog: Tweeny -- don't they have ACL audience in a theater? So you can go watch live. Is it expensive?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Miscrosoft will surely be on your desktop. No thranks. I want an Intel/Mac. OS X and XP for the programs that haven't been ported.
Dexter Fong: I gotta scramble out of here...leter y'all

boney: Brain corruption.
klokwkdog: pisses me off to this day that they let him in there and made us attend
Charles Throat: I remember the name of ours - Reverend Heck
Charles Throat: Same thing here klok
klokwkdog: and pushed all that Hoover crap down our throats about the evil commies
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Mine was the Rev. Oh Darned...
Charles Throat: I was returning to class from one of those assemblies when we heard President Kennedy had been shot
boney: Somebody write a country western song about the information superhighways of the mind
Charles Throat: Al Gore right?
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Yeah, I was 9 nine years old. The President has been shot...
Charles Throat: I'm torn, I love Al but hate Tipper
Charles Throat: in Frank's memory
klokwkdog: my epiphany was when Randy Scruggs, at a Linda Ronstadt concert, held up a copy of Masters of Deceit with his fingers over the "by" so it looked like J. Edgar Hoover was part of the title
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Given the option? Bush or Gore families?
klokwkdog: then I knew they did the same thing to kids in Nashville
Charles Throat: Oh Gore in a new york second pleasepleaseplease
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: I love some things about TX, but c'mon...
Charles Throat: I'm with the Dixie Chicks, I'm an ashamed Texan
boney: Tipper Gore and the Dubster... "Oh, Frank! Kiss my hot lips!"
klokwkdog: CT, I'll never forget how she dragged poor, dying Frank Zappa in front of that drugs lyrics music committee

Charles Throat: you're... plooking... too... hard...
boney: plonk me, baby
Charles Throat: Yeah klok... I still talk to Jimmy Carl Black now and then

Charles Throat: he's an ornery old fukker
Charles Throat: I am a total Zappa nut
boney: You didn't like all that he did, Twillo?
boney: What kind of fan are you?

DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: So, who'd go with a Gore/Clinton ticket in 2008 just to get these rebozos out of office?
boney: Tipper and Hillary? I'm not sure.
boney: The rebozos will be out of office in any event.
boney: Unless the Dubster is declared el presidente for life
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: There are very few people qualified to teach morals to the American people ;)
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: In any event? Wouldn't count on that. Jeb is in the wings.
boney: A McCain Powell ticket would be tempting.
boney: Otherwise I guess I'm stuck with whatever the Donkeys serve up
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Powell is pissed. And I don't blame him. Standing up in front of the UN.
boney: Two words. Exit strategy.
DedicatedArmaTwilloSurrealist: Well, sounds like another chat. Thanks to FST and their friends. So long, until last time, again...
