||||||||| Catherwood re-enters the Waiting Room and explains "This is the main discussion room which is logged each night."
||||||||| Catherwood announces, "The time is 4:33 AM - I now declare Thursday's chat log for January 19, 2006 officially open!"... and then, he retires back to the vestibule...
||||||||| Firebroiled enters at 8:47 AM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and hurries off to the Hat Pack Annex.
Firebroiled: Yet now, as inevitable as dawn, the Sun, arching on its axis, rises to meet the East --
chariot-racing across the high noon desert sky,
only to plummit, like bald Icarus, into the sensual, fermenting seas of the South Pacific.
And even now, yet, as scary night decends upon us,
we could appreciate the Wonders of Nature as stimulating as Man’s Own Triumphs!

Let us pause . . .
||||||||| Around 8:48 AM, Firebroiled walks off into the sunset...
||||||||| Catherwood strides in with a trumpet, plays a fanfare, and proclaims "Nine PM on Thursday, January 19, 2006 - I now declare alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre's chat officially open!" -- then he looks around at the empty room, looks at his watch, and mumbles "...am I early?"
||||||||| 9:07 PM: ah,clem jumps out of the hall closet saying "I've been listening to all of you talking about me for the past half hour!"
||||||||| New CNI streaming notice: '"a few minutes with FireSign Theatre" at about 9 eastern'
||||||||| Catherwood leads Dexter Fong inside, makes a note of the time (9:13 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
||||||||| Catherwood escorts Merlyn inside, makes a note of the time (9:13 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Dexter Fong: Hi Merlyn
Merlyn: or something
Dexter Fong: and Hi also Clem
||||||||| cease steals in around 9:13 PM, trying to avoid Catherwood because of last night's "unpleasant incident."
Merlyn: Hey, I should get that Enron DVD tomorrow with the Firesign bit on it
||||||||| At 9:14 PM, Dexter Fong hurries out the door saying "Hey, mister ice-cream man, I've got a nickel, wait for meeeee..."
cease: i think i prefer the beatles of comedy
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Dexter Fong disembarks at 9:14 PM.
Dexter Fong: Hey Cat
||||||||| Catherwood leads Hemlock Stones in through the front door at 9:14 PM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
Dexter Fong: zest
Merlyn: who are the dung beetles of comedy?
Hemlock Stones: Hi Dexter
||||||||| A time machine materializes at 9:16 PM and Bambi bounds out, carrying a grape from ancient Greece.
Dexter Fong: Tezt
cease: almost anyone on tv, merl
Dexter Fong: Seems to be some lag going on here
Bambi: howdy Cat, Dex, Stones, Merlyn and of course, ah,clem :-)
Merlyn: it's a running lag
Bambi: cool...got to come in through the time machine tonight ... always enjoy that.
cease: hi bambi. i'm back in the land of the sane
||||||||| Outside, the 9:17 PM uptown bus from Funfun Town pulls away, leaving Mudhead coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
cease: you played winter clarkgreen last week?
Bambi: ah, back, safe and sound ... glad to hear it Cat!
cease: ah, this was the show doc recorded on my dat machine
Merlyn: hey mud
Mudhead: hiya
Bambi: hi Mudhead
cease: yes it is wonderrrrrfulll to be home
Mudhead: wheres the donuts?
Bambi: Yes, Clem did play that last week Cat :-)
Merlyn: who dat who say who dat?
cease: i was gone so long i was afraid my animals had forgotten me
ah,clem: yes, I beleive I did, Cat
cease: or was it your dat, merl?
Merlyn: I have no dat
Mudhead: how bout a diss?
Dexter Fong: I no have dat
||||||||| doctec bounds in at 9:20 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Dexter Fong: Hey Doc
Merlyn: I don't diss dats
doctec: i have dat
Dexter Fong: ah the lag is over
cease: probably mine then
cease: and speaking of doctec....
Mudhead: the lag is over where?
Dexter Fong: Cat: I got my copy of Fire Zone from Freditor
cease: i survived la, doc
Dexter Fong: whatever that might mean
cease: yes it was one of his products, like clark and many others
cease: now he has a new book coming out?
Dexter Fong: Seems so
cease: i thought he was exiled from firemerchandise
doctec: well done, cat - it must have been a surreal ordeal
cease: more arduous than words will allow, doc
doctec: i have dat, but want one of these now - http://m-audio.com/products/en_us/MicroTrack2496-main.html
doctec: the ultimate field recording device
cease: going thru closets fillled with 40 years of dust i found stuff from my distant childhood, flashed a lot on that
Mudhead: lsd will do that
cease: before you buy it, doc. you might have some other priorites for your funds
doctec: dex: that would be "in the firezone", no?
cease: the post office appreciated the business
Dexter Fong: Doc: Yes
doctec: cat: i know, it's just wishful thinking is all
cease: i spent a good chunk of one of those orders sending myself stuff from my childhoood in the mail
Mudhead: they have sniffing dogs to catch that
Merlyn: these are neat too: http://www.virtual-laser-keyboard.com/
cease: wow. looks great doc. looks like something i could use for my japanese flick
Bambi: doc...have listened to some of the pieces on the site you sent ... haven't listened to them all yet ... been very busy this week ... will send email when I hear them all. So far they sound great!
cease: what is this, doc and bambi?
doctec: dex: some back story there: in the firezone is an unauthorized recording, in helping fred get those recordings i didn't know that. ossman told me some time later he was pissed off about it because their main audio guy (name escapes me) had captured a much better recording in portland during that tour, but fred got his release out fast
cease: bummrt doc
cease: yes we dont want to do anything to piss the lads off, or take pennies from their pockets
Dexter Fong: Doc: Doesn't surprise me..the scheming etc....I see Lodestone has the portland show...Fred also released the Nick Danger version from Portland
doctec: thanks bambi. to others: she's referring to the "next in the series" demo - http://www.nextintheseries.com
Bambi: JL shouldn't be playing them then??
ah,clem: in the firezone, Cat
Dexter Fong: Cat: This show is In the Fire Zone
doctec: if i had known fred was basically going behinf the guys' back making the recordings that became "in the firezone", i wouldn't have helped him make them
Merlyn: Lodestone has the Portland show
cease: i was there, dex. dat in paw
doctec: i'm glad there is an official release of "radio now" though - that is as it should be
Merlyn: This was Seattle, I think
Dexter Fong: Doc: I still think he glommed my copy of The History of the Art of Radio which I sent him not thinking he might release it commercially
cease: yes, thats why fred was eventually dumped, eh?
doctec: as for jl playing the in the firezone stuff, i see no harm in it - the audience is not large enough for it to cause any problems
Merlyn: I think John has mentioned a real release of the Seattle show, which I assume would be the official audio source
Bambi: ok, great doc
cease: i read the transcripts of austin last week
cease: sounds like a new project in the works?
Merlyn: Fred seems to have a knack at pulling really dumb stunts that piss people off.
Merlyn: Well, Austin wants to, but not everyone wants to work essentially for free...
Bambi: well, there should be an official release if there are those that are not official releases and not ones they would be happy with ... folks want to hear all Firesign Theatre :-)
doctec: dex: that wouldn't surprise me. on the one hand, fred did kinda cross the line with the guys. on the other hand, it's good for *any* recordings of the guys to get some exposure
doctec: ...and i would be lying if i said i wasn't proud of the job fred & i did on "in the firezone"
Bambi: sounds like it Merlyn
Merlyn: But now that I know that, maybe Phil could get his own show - Nick Danger's Casebook, anyone?
cease: firesign isnt a group, its an occasional meeting of the minds
Dexter Fong: Doc: It's certainly a tangled mess..between the "guys" having their differences and Fred having his agenda..meanwhile all we fireheads want is everything they ever did =))
doctec: dex: lol - how right you are
cease: true, dex
Merlyn: and the others could drop in whenever available
doctec: cat: yes, that is de trufe!
Bambi: oooo, I would love a show called Nick Danger's Casebook! Nick being my favorite and all.
Bambi: very true
Merlyn: And Nick is much more famous than Phil Austin
Merlyn: Oh, Phil said he probably wouldn't be here this week, but probably next week. He's been off the net a while.
Dexter Fong: Merl: Right..I never saw a Phil Austin line of clothing
doctec: yeah, when he puts on the "money hat" it's katie bar the door
Merlyn: He does have that "city limits" show
Bambi: Nicky is certainly my favorite of Phil's characters to date
Merlyn: You've dated Phil's characters?
Dexter Fong: Bambi: YOu went out with Nick Danger?
Bambi: lol
doctec: glad to hear phil got a computer and dsl set up at his place on "oona island"
Dexter Fong: Bet he didn't pay
Bambi: I just mean ... there is likely much more to come over time ... and I'd like to keep the options open on favorites lol
Dexter Fong: Bambi: Did he take you under the dwarf maples?
cease: i left a message on proc's answering machine and he left a message with my aunt, nevr connected
Merlyn: From inside discussions, any new radio stuff would be pre-recorded, probably from their respective homes.
Bambi: (but you all knew that ... just having a little fun)
Dexter Fong: Cat: Too bad
doctec: sorry to hear that cat
cease: i suspect my next trip to la, to pick up ,my parnets, will be my last
Merlyn: so good net connections would be de rigeur
cease: hope to see him and melinda then
Bambi: think you and Phil Austin passed in the night as it were ... he was on his way to LA as you were leaving
doctec: another little-known average white band hit: "pick up the parents"
Merlyn: two ships that sink on the lips
Bambi: If I understood Phil correctly last week
||||||||| LiliLamont bounds in at 9:39 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Dexter Fong: Hiya Lili
Mudhead: Lilli!
doctec: lili, i thought you were chained to the stove!
cease: Hi Lili!!!
Bambi: sorry to hear that Cat ...
Bambi: hi Lili!
doctec: i guess you found the hacksaw i hid in the kitchen drawer
||||||||| Catherwood says "9:40 PM, time for SOMEONE to leave!", grabs LiliLamont by the collar and gives 'em the old bum's rush out the door
doctec: (not hidden well enough, apparently)
||||||||| "9:40 PM? 9:40 PM!!" says Catherwood, "LiliLamont should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as LiliLamont enters and sits on the divan.
cease: lol
Bambi: lol
doctec: she comes, she goes...
Bambi: wb Lili ;_0
||||||||| LiliLamont rushes off, saying "9:41 PM? Mark Time is almost on! Where's a radio?"
doctec: she whupped my ass in scrabble once again, a half hour ago
||||||||| Catherwood leads Princepoop inside, makes a note of the time (9:41 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Mudhead: lets push her over
||||||||| LiliLamont enters at 9:41 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and hurries off to the Hat Pack Annex.
Dexter Fong: Hey Pp
Bambi: that was supposed to be :-) ... daggone keyboard
cease: hey doc, our panetarium is on the news
Bambi: or would that be fingers
Princepoop: hay is for horses neighhhh
doctec: i hear noises from the first floor indicating she's having problems connecting and staying connected
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood announces: "9:41 PM and late as usual, it's Bubba's Brain, just back from Indiana."
Bambi: hi PrinceP
Bubba's Brain: Greetings!
doctec: hey bb
Dexter Fong: Hi Bubba'
cease: nbc news, about pluto misson
Princepoop: hubba bubba
Bambi: hi Bubba
cease: bubman
||||||||| At 9:42 PM, LiliLamont rushes out the door saying "Hey, mister ice-cream man, I've got a nickel, wait for meeeee..."
Princepoop: hi bambi
Mudhead: nice launch
Bubba's Brain: Hey, all!
cease: hows it goin, lili?
||||||||| LiliLamont steps in at 9:42 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Dexter Fong: Nice yacht
Merlyn: hey BB - did you say that the seattle 1999 tour show would get a legit release at some point? We're listening to "in the firezone" now
Bubba's Brain: I swear, I thought the button said "Lunch"
Princepoop: launch or braunch?
doctec: well, almost a month after my laptop died on me, i have it back and it's up to speed enough that i can put the desktop system aside
Bambi: she just wanted that ice cream
Mudhead: LETS EAT!
Bubba's Brain: Merl -- yes, it is planned for part of the "Firesign Live" series.
cease: lazarus, the laptop?
doctec: 1999 tour already has official release
Merlyn: sounds good
doctec: or so i thought.... isn't that the "radio now" title?
LiliLamont: Sheesh! Let's see if this browser behaves itself. I have a break from kitchen chores while the veggies are roasting.
Mudhead: and the roast is veggyin
doctec: she's cookin' up a storm
LiliLamont: Thank grid for firefox.
Bubba's Brain: Oh, wait,,,, I was thinking 2005. We haven't discussed 1999, beyond the existing Radio Now Live.
Princepoop: did you have to chase those veggies too?
Mudhead: they like that
doctec: yes, firefox rocks! version 2.0 should be out in another month or two
Bambi: yes, thank grid for Firefox
Bambi: using 1.5 right now and Thunderbird 1.5 too ... love them both
LiliLamont: Yeah, Doc has been suffering since I got back from SF. There was the roast chicken, and then the chicken pot pie, the veal piccata.... all of it homemade, of course.
doctec: firefox and thunderbird are an unbeatable combination imho
Mudhead: I like Moonshine more than Thunderbird
Bubba's Brain: Netscape 8 renders using Firefox OR IE depending on what you tell it. Its nice.
doctec: lili has been spoiling me, culinarily speaking
Princepoop: veal piccata, is that music on the veality channel?
cease: i'm sure it has been mutual
Bambi: imho too doc
Bambi: Lili ... sounds like wonderful meals
Dexter Fong: Piccata Tocatta in Veal minor
doctec: veal piccata and fugue #7 in a major
Mudhead: spoiled food, I wouldnt be braggin
cease: billy?
Bubba's Brain: Like milk past its due date?
Princepoop: tico taco piccato, in a bun
LiliLamont: I prefer realy good vodka to moonshine, but I'm on so many drugs that I have to go on hiatus for 2 weeks with the alcohol.
cease: reading dylan's autobi, where woody first offered him the tunes that billy brag later recorded with wilco.
Bambi: Firefox has that ability too via Extension... I don't want it ... if I wanted to use IE, I would use IE LOL!
doctec: lili is a closet gourmet - she only shares her culinary skills with friends and close associates
Mudhead: pass some around
cease: dylan complains they werent born when woody offered them to bob
LiliLamont: That's really, not realy.
Princepoop: you had a hiatus too? my uncle had one of those, ouch
doctec: yeah, so we're drinking zyr & tonics tonight
Bambi: that's all I need, a site that says it requires I so it can put crapola on my computer ... not gonna happen!
cease: did someone say drugs?
Bubba's Brain: Some sites wont render properly except under IE.
Mudhead: I will
doctec: i f**king hate IE - what a pile of s**te!!!!!
Bubba's Brain: Its the site's designers fault, but we have to live with it.
Bubba's Brain: Fer'instanc my bank.
Bambi: I=IE in that last posting of mine ... tell us what you really think doc lol
LiliLamont: Yes, Cease, but not the kind we want. I started on tamoxifen, which is supposed to forestay breast cancer, but the side effects suck!
Bambi: my bank works great in Firefox
Princepoop: careful bush and gates are listening, and robertson tell us that God punishes
Bubba's Brain: Thats why I like the ability of N8 to render under IE without actually opening it.
LiliLamont: Assholes, all.
Bubba's Brain: But at least there is no more Limbo.
doctec: and now, a short insurrection - http://www.doctechnical.com/myx/audio/Facets.mp3
Mudhead: your denegrating assholes puttin them in the same sentence
Bambi: there are always some sites that do better in IE, such as stupid Cox.net, our electric company and of course M$
Princepoop: what happened to limbo?
Mudhead: assholes have a purpose, theyre more like hemmroids
Bubba's Brain: Catholic church says it doesn't exist... any more.
Bambi: M$ does fine in Firefox as long as you aren't required to do the Genuine Advantage thing for downloading something
LiliLamont: You're right, Mud. What did assholes ever do to me? Actually, a lot...
Princepoop: I need to watch the news more often
doctec: (facets is the first ambient space music piece i've put together using some new music tools at my disposal)
cease: 2 weeks without in la. my sytem is confused
Mudhead: to or for?
Bambi: Bubba ... it is opening IE's engine ... and the engine is the problem
Dexter Fong: Doc: Your URL just conflicted with Netscape and bounced me
doctec: dex: that's odd, i just tested it and it worked fine
Bubba's Brain: Oh... never mind the Charlie Parker thing, doc... I figured a workaround.
Princepoop: worked fine for me
Bambi: what version of Netscape are you using Dex?
doctec: thanks bb - i have my hands full with the movie soundtrack and other stuff at the momeny
doctec: moment
Dexter Fong: Doc: 7.0
doctec: i think 7 is outdated at this point - you should switch to firefox, http://www.mozilla.com
cease: isnt that sound tracked yet?
LiliLamont: To the galley! I'll be right back.....
Mudhead: I'll take a plate
Princepoop: run veggies run, here comes lili
doctec: stop soundtracking mud all over my nice clean floor!
Bubba's Brain: It's the Captian's Mess... let him clean it up.
Mudhead: yeah, sheesh
Dexter Fong: Stones is fading
Bambi: lol
ah,clem: ...
doctec: man, i am catching whiffs of bliss emanating from lili's kitchen
Princepoop: hi ahhh, clem
Bubba's Brain: Blisswhiffs?
doctec: unless i miss my guess, chez lili will be open in about 15-20 minutes
cease: or my desk, dex
||||||||| klokwkdog bounds in at 9:56 PM carrying an obsidian door knocker.
Princepoop: take a whiff on me
cease: no, stone is just coming on
Princepoop: click klock
Dexter Fong: Hey Klok
LiliLamont: The veggies are roasted and gorgeous! Time to put on the lamb chops. Doc, do you stil want salad?
klokwkdog: hello everyone
Bambi: They are working on the Mac issue with Firefox for the next version last I heard. It's not a universal problem, but annoying when it happens.
Bambi: hey Klok
Dexter Fong: Another round of drinkies over here please
cease: im getting roasted as we speak
doctec: hey klok - thanks for the "TWiT" links. i haven't had time to check them out but i have your email with the links, i intend to listen to the show this weekend
Princepoop: lamb chop and who?
Merlyn: get the complicated salad
LiliLamont: Hey, Klok! Good to see you again!
Bambi drools over the veggies!
Bubba's Brain: Its complimentary.
Bambi: Catherwood drinks all around
||||||||| Catherwood steps alongside Bambi and inquires "Something I can help with?"
LiliLamont: They do smell really good.
klokwkdog: sounds delish, Lili
Bambi: lol
Princepoop drools over bambi drooling!
Merlyn: catherwood, get everyone drinks
||||||||| Catherwood hands everyone drinks.
Bambi: Catherwood please pour me a double Toasted Almond
||||||||| Catherwood gets Bambi a double toasted almond.
klokwkdog: Thanks DT. It's a fun show. Esp. when watched in the video version
doctec: thanks, c-wood
Bubba's Brain: Catherwood, pour the lady a drink.
||||||||| Catherwood gets the lady a drink.
Princepoop: cheers
LiliLamont: Damn! I seem to have finished mine.
Bambi: thanks Merlyn :-)
Dexter Fong: Catherwood pour your heart out
||||||||| Catherwood hands your heart out.
klokwkdog: aha, the galloping gourmetress
doctec: klok: i really hope that keyboard sees the light of day - it's such a killer concept
Bubba's Brain: Catherwood, pour the lady another drink.
||||||||| Catherwood gets the lady another drink.
Bambi: Cheers!
LiliLamont: So, Doc... salad or not? We can have it tomorrow if you prefer.
klokwkdog: yes, DT, esp. the price
doctec: http://www.artlebedev.com/portfolio/optimus/
Princepoop: here's a recipe, first, take a leek
Bubba's Brain: Ahhhh... the salad days.
Mudhead: Anyone have any ideas on DVD-RW formatting, I bought a few disks today to copy files to, they dont seem to be able to be formated in my DVD writer
doctec: lili: whatever is easiest for you. the aromas wafting from the kitchen are soooooooo divine, salad is optional
LiliLamont: Ah, vichysoisse
klokwkdog: the Art Lebedev site in general is pretty interesting, esp. the poster art
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
cease: hi klok
doctec: i swear, you wouldn't believe how good the kitchen aromas are here rigfht now
doctec: right now
LiliLamont: Doc, can you extricate yourself from chat in about 10 minutes?
klokwkdog: Mudhead -- is DVD-RW a supported format in your burner unit (I would think so, but it's a starting place)
doctec: (damn the zyr is really starting to kick in here)
doctec: lili: for you, i can extricate myself from chat in 5 or less!
LiliLamont: Woo hoo!
Mudhead: yes
klokwkdog: don't know about anyone else, but this food description's making me darned hungry
Bubba's Brain: I gotta go soon. My wife is calling.
Bambi: well did you get + or - DVDRWs? you have to match your drive's capabilities ... also is it dual or single layer recorder and disks?
LiliLamont: OK, time for the lamb chops to cook. Talk to you later, guys.
Princepoop: love, american style, truer than the red white and blueeeee
Mudhead: single rw+
cease: enjoy, lili
Dexter Fong: later Lili
klokwkdog: nite Bubba
doctec: i picked up a DVD burner for a song thanks to klok alerting me to the black friday sales at staples the day after thanksgiving - dvd+/-rw, a steal and it works great!
Princepoop: bon chops belle fille
klokwkdog: enjoy dinner DT/Lili
Bambi: have fun Lili
cease: you know it's live. austin said "fuck"
Princepoop: hubba bubba
Bubba's Brain: nite, klok.
doctec: i think i have to take off for the time being - sorry
Mudhead: but it formats from your right click menu right? no special software?
Dexter Fong: See you later doc
doctec: chez lili is serving presently
Bubba's Brain: Hubby Bubby.
doctec: i will try to check in later but make no promises
cease: keep em chewing, doc
klokwkdog: Mudhead -- the Roxio s/w stuck inside WinXP is okay....but
doctec: great seeing you all here this evening (if "seeing" is the properverb to be using in this context)
Bambi: and your DVDRW disks and player match type? What recording softwareversion are you using?
Bambi: enjoy Doc and Lili!
||||||||| Bubba's Brain says "Catherwood, call me a cab." After the obvious joke, Bubba's Brain exits at 10:04 PM.
Mudhead: Nero 6.3
klokwkdog: I use the Nero burning ROM crippleware packed with my burner in Windows. And Linux K3B for recalcitrant cases.
Dexter Fong: Night Bubba
doctec: if i don't "see" you here in an hour, i'll "see" you all next week
doctec: figuratively speaking of course
Mudhead: k doc
Mudhead: njoy
Dexter Fong: Si
cease: see you when, doc
doctec: nytol (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................................................
||||||||| At 10:05 PM, doctec hurries out the door saying "Hey, mister ice-cream man, I've got a nickel, wait for meeeee..."
Mudhead: i got that Sonic stuff on my lappie, im gonna go try that
klokwkdog: Generally, on DVDs, it tells me to burn the RWs right off the bat
Princepoop: cackle lol
||||||||| Dave enters at 10:05 PM as Catherwood takes their hat and goat and hurries off to the Hat Pack Annex.
klokwkdog: Just data ->disc.
Mudhead: wif Nero?
Dave: evening all
Dexter Fong: Hey Dave
Princepoop: huh?
cease: hey dave
Bambi: you write those within Nero 6.3 unless you are using the packet writer InCD and then you must format the DVDRW and it takes some time
Mudhead: INCD doesnt work in xp
Princepoop: hi dave
klokwkdog: I have had _really_ bad experiences with the packet formatting on CD-RWs and never used it on DVDs atoll
klokwkdog: yeah, with Nero, Mudhead
Mudhead: ok
klokwkdog: the packet formatting takes forever and I've had little luck (on CD-RWs) writing on such discs on other machines and having the RW ever be usable without erasing
Bambi: if you add items to the volume from within Nero you will know for sure whether it will fit ... it will write them like a DVDR and it can be wiped later or added to later on the same computer.
Dave: it was snowing here, I'm applying to Stanford actually at the moment, smile wish me luck? lord I think I'm out of my mind, anyone know any colleges in CA that are Not part of the UC system? as in private schools on the quarter system
klokwkdog: so what I _always_ do is write to RWs (CD and DVD) like they were CD-Rs or DVD-Rs
Bambi: I don't use packet writing either Klok ... used to but haven't in years
Mudhead: after burning a RW disk can you erae4 it?
klokwkdog: Bambi - Well, on CD-RWs it used to take over an /hour/ to format the darn things
Princepoop: Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles? pretty campus right next to USC
cease: justr flew over stanford et al yest
klokwkdog: Mudhead - yeah, I always burn the thing as a DVD-R and then erase it
Bambi smiles for Dave ... and wishes him luck with Stanford
||||||||| It's 10:10 PM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
||||||||| Hemlock Stones - dead from intense demonic possession
||||||||| Better luck next time! And now, back to our chatroom, which is already in progress...
klokwkdog: On the DVD+RWs, anyway, I can use the "quick erase" that takes about a minute
Bambi: sure can Mud, from within Nero
Princepoop: ahh intense denomic repossession
Bambi: anyway ... back to our show already in progress :-)
klokwkdog: Mudhead -- although generally, after burning a DVD+RW, I _use_ it for something, /then/ erase it ;-))
Princepoop: the voice of ahh, clem
ah,clem :)
ah,clem: ...
Dexter Fong: Catherwood send out for take in
||||||||| Catherwood sends out for take in.
Princepoop: fong take catherwood out and in
||||||||| Catherwood rushes over to Princepoop and inquires "Someone mention my name?"
cease: i know what the firesing will say. i dont know what ah clem wlil say
Bambi: lol Cat!
ah,clem: I don't either, lol
Princepoop: you need to clean your laser, the chemicals in wonder bread and processed cheese is super for that, put a grilled cheese sandwich in the cd drive and close the door
Bambi: LOL Clem
Dexter Fong: afk for drk
klokwkdog: Mudhead -- what does Nero tell you when you put a blank DVD in the unit. There's an option called "disc info" that's in the "more" menu as well as an icon in the "extras" menu
Mudhead: I'll try it, Im onna phone wif g/f right now
klokwkdog: Poop -- this is a DVD drive. You have to use Swiss cheese to produce an alternating cleaning pattern
Princepoop: ahh dvd, yes
cease: lol klok
Bambi: Princepoop ... you are too much! Sounds like some kids I heard of with peanut butter sandwiches in VCRs ...
klokwkdog: g/f fiddling overrides DVD fiddling every time...
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and boney disembarks at 10:17 PM.
||||||||| Catherwood leads Honey Sanchez in through the front door at 10:17 PM, picks up his cues (only slightly scorched), and heads for the billiard room.
Princepoop: fiddling or diddling?
cease: good seatlte joke
klokwkdog remembers that as a TV commercial
Bambi: hi Boney
klokwkdog: indeed, Cat
boney: hey
Bambi: hi Honey
Princepoop: boney and honey at the same time, coincidence or ... fate?
klokwkdog: poop -- it's progressive; gets to that as things slide down the slippery slope...

klokwkdog: principle who?
Dexter Fong: Winnie Il Pooh-pooed
Bambi: well, they shouldn't have to hit send/receive every time, if they set it to get mail on open, and every so many minutes when it's open.

Princepoop: my ears are bad, I need songs where I already know the words or it is hopeless
klokwkdog: "Am Fenster" is one I'd never heard before. E. German art rock 80s band. Blew me away; it's really a virtuoso tour de force
Princepoop: do they print the lyrics somewhere?
klokwkdog: oh, sorry Poop
klokwkdog: Poop - nope, you have to Google them
Hemlock Stones: ok folks got to go now, have a good week
Princepoop: it is my own fault, headphones too loud with rock and then an aircraft carrier
Hemlock Stones: bye for now
klokwkdog: "Am Fenster" is in German, too. So you have to translate. Vy short poem, though; the whole trip is the music, not the words
